UNC just lost at Kentucky and before that played at home vs. Wisconsin in a very low scoring game that was played at Wisconsin's pace.
Evasville played earlier versus Indiana and made it to 167 points and their only raod game this year made it to 154 at Ill Chicago (79-75).
UNC won at Evansville last year in a low scoing game but their game at UNC back in 2008 ended 91-73 (164 points) and the total was set at 157. The Aces only made 2/10 3-pointers in that game.
Evansville gets points from Colt Ryan 19.7 ppg. Harris adds 13, Cox gets 10.5 and Holmes near 9 points a game.
UNC should set the pace as they did at home earlier vs. Tenn State (171 points) and Miss Valley State (176) and their game at UNC-Asheville made it to 166 points.
I expect Zeller, Barnes, Henson, McAdoo, Hairston, Strickland and Bullock to score points for the Tar Heels as we hope to see a game in the 90-70 range.

Wisconsin at UNC over 135 15 units
These two played back in 2005 and the halftime score was 88-82 (170 points!). Wisconsin has yet to play a true road game. They did play BYU (34-32 halftime score) and made it to 66 points at the break. Wisconsin games average 112 ppg while UNC is at 159 so they put the total near the middle and came up with 135. They are expecting 63 in the 1st Half and 72 in the 2nd half.
Zeller played poorly in Las Vegas so I expect UNC to get the ball down low to him. Harrison Barnes may or may not play but UNC does have McAdoo, Hairston and Bullock as nice bench players who can score. Here are UNC halftime totals:
UNLV 80 So Car 77 Tenn St 97 Miss V 68 UNCA 87 Mich St 61
The UNC/Michigan State game on the ship even made it to 61 points with all the airballs, missed FT's and ragged play.
The Badgers have played overs in 8 of the last 10 vs. the ACC. Here are the last four halftime scores for Wisconsin in the Challenge:
NCSU 65 Duke 70 Va Tech 68 Duke 73
Wisconsin has 5 players who average 9.5 ppg or more. Brust, Berggren, Taylor, Gassor and Evans can score as well as others. In their last five games the Badgers have made 13, 8, 13, 9 and 10 3-pointers.
UNC likes to push it and play fast, especially at home in the Dean Dome. They do struggle from the line and don't shoot 3's well but there should be plenty of chances for this to reach 135+ and go over.

over 145.5 Tennessee State has played some low scoring games this year vs. Western KY, South Carolina and St. Louis. Their final scores have ended with 127, 138, 101 and 108 points. They do have all starters back from last year and are led by Robert Covington at 16.5 ppg. Kenny Moore, Miller, Cyphers and Peters also provide scoring. Let's look at the games that Tenn State played last year and check out the scores:
Memphis 177 (91-86) Belmont 159 (87-72) Air Force 159 (87-72) Eastern Ky 158
UNC has played three games and their game on the ship vs. Michigan State ended with just 122 points scored. Their game at UNC-A ended with 166 points and their last game (only home game so far) made it to 176 (101-75) vs. Miss Valley State. There was no line for their first home game.
UNC should be able to push it at home and get the ball inside to Zeller and Henson and Barnes. Strickland has played well but the Tar Heels have struggled at the line and making 3's but they do have three good offensive players coming off the bench (McAdoo, Hairston and Bullock). Kendall Marshall has struggled with his shot but he is known for his passing. He doesn't get the easy layups and dunks that Felton and Lawson used to get.
Tenn State just won at South Carolina 64-63 so it should get UNC's attention. Tenn State could pack it in and force UNC to shoot from the outside and make plenty of passes before shooting on offense. It does concern me that the teams may play a sloppy game with Thanksgiving only two days away and UNC's next game will be against South Carolina on Friday in Las Vegas.
It should be an interesting game to see if the Tennessee State Tigers can keep it close and keep it under the total but I like our chances for an over.

10* Georgia Southern +12.5 (7pm)
This line may go up to 13 by game time as it is 12.5 now. Wake Forest won their opener by 12 points but shot a pitiful 22-46 (47%) from the line. CJ Harris and Travis McKie scored 20 and 19 points but were helped by their opponent only making 1-14 3-pointers and they gave up 15 offensive rebounds. Loyola outrebounded them 40-37. Desrosiers, Chennault and Marcherokov are just average role players for Wake Forest.
Ga. Southern lost to Valpo by 9 in their opener. They were bad last year as PG Willie Powers was injured. He is back and scored 13 points in their opener. 6'7" Eric Ferguson scored 20 points with 13 rebounds for the Eagles and senior guard Ben Drayton had 19 points. He averaged 15 ppg last year. Jelani Hewitt added 10 points. Ga Southern did allow Valpo to shoot 54% from the field so the Demon Deacons may be able to take advantage with McKie inside but WF shoots free throws poorly it may be hard to win by 13 or more, as PG CJ Harris struggles the most at the line.
I am taking Ga Southern +12.5 and hope to see the road team stay within 8 to 10 points and cover on Wednesday night. GL!

Rhode Island isn't very deep and that does worry me some.
Texas has no starters back from last year but does return J'Covan Brown who had a great game vs. Boston. Penn vs. Temple 7pm eastern (Monday Nov. 14) Temple -10.5 (Olympic)
These two schools are located in Philadelphia, PA and are part of the Big 5, schools that are located in that city. Temple plays in the Atlantic 10 conference while the Penn Quakers play in the Ivy League, which doesn't have athletic scholarships. Temple is much more athletic and has won the last four meetings by 17, 15, 25 and 16 points.
Temple is led by two 6'4" senior guards. Ramone Moore led the team with 15 points per game while Juan Fernandez was at 11 ppg. Temple returns most of their team from last year, only losing Lavoy Allen. Wyatt is also a scorer. The Owls beat Richmond by 20 last year and won other non-conference games:
beat Toledo by 33 beat Akron by 35 beat St. Bon by 28 beat St. Joe's by 14
Penn does have two effecient scorers in Zach Rosen and Tyler Bernadini. They shoot 3's well but the Temple team should be used to facing them. In Penn's win over weak UMBC recently the Owls were outrebounded badly and they could get killed on the boards tonight.
This should be a low scoring game but the athletes of Temple should be able to control the game and help Temple to a win of 15 points. Let's hope that Penn doesn't make too many 3's.

UNC at UNC-Asheville 4pm Sunday
pick: UNC-A +17 These two teams played last year at UNC and it was 80-69 as the Tar Heels only won by 11 at home. UNC-A is opening a new arena on Sunday and UNC has agreed to go there and play them. The Asheville coach (Eddie Biedenbach) used to play at NC State and is very familiar with the Tar Heels. UNC-A just played at NC State and lost by 9 points.
UNC coach Roy Williams is from the Asheville area and this will be a homecoming for him but UNC-A was 20-14 last year and played Pitt in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. UNC just traveled to the west coast for the game out in San Diego with Michigan State and flew back to North Carolina early on Saturday.
UNC-A has pre-season Big South Player Of The Year in Matt Dickey who scored 15 last year at UNC and put in 17 at NC State. They also have solid players in JR Primm, Chris Stephenson, Quinnard Jackson and Jaron Lane. UNC did outrebound them 48-27 last year but I like the Bulldogs chances to stay within 16 points on Sunday. I had hoped for +18 but posting this late Saturday when +16.5 is available.

William & Mary at St. John's 7pm eastern (Monday)
pick: W&M +points
College basketball is here! Willaim and Mary was not very good last year as they lost some of their key players and were blown out at Virginia and at Richmond to start the season. They went up to the Carrier Dome and led Syracuse late before losing 63-60. Now they face another Big East team on the road to open the season.
The Tribe only lost one player (Marcus Kitts) and return first team all-CAA forward Quinn McDowell, who scored 15.5 ppg last year and made 45% of his 3's and 86% from the line. They also return starters Kendrix Brown, Brandon Britt (11 ppg) and Julian Boatner (7 ppg). John Mark Ludwig, Matt Rum and Tim Rusthoven should play some too.
St. John's returns very little from last year. They lost all three double digit scorers (Hardy, Brownlee and Kennedy). They do have a player named God'sgift Achium and Moe Harkless. The Johnnies also have a player named Sir'Dominic Pointer.
St. John's opened the year beating CW Post by 110-80 but only made 22-42 from the line. They beat St. Mary's of Md. 77-70 and were only 4-10 from the line and only 1-12 from the 3-point line.
The game is at Lou Carnesecca Arena and that should help the home team. I thought the line would be 7.5 and we are getting 10 in what seems to be a low scoring game. W&M played at UNC, at ODU and at VCU last year so they are used to playing solid teams. They only lost at VCU by 59-55.
The Tribe is a solid 3-point shooting team. St. John's hasn't shot 3's and free throws well in exhibitions so it may be hard to win by double digits.
I like the road dog on Monday night. I won't be shocked to see St. John's win big but hopefully Quinn McDowell and the rest of Tony Shaver's squad can keep it close as they did at Syracuse last year. GL!

The Jets have played 10 overs in their last 12 road games and get offensice production form QB March Sanchez who feels less pressure on the road. The Jets recently gave up 30+ points in 3 games in a row.
The NYJ defense is average and led by Revis who is a threat to score off an int. every game.

The Army QB (Steelman) is not expected to play much today and won't be 100%. The Cadets rely on the ground game and that should keep the clock running. AF QB Tim Jefferson was injured last week but is probable. If he has a great game this total will end up going over.
AF has won the last 5 meetings easily and has already played Navy. The Navy game went into OT but there were 56 points scored in regulation.
Hopefully, the AF Falcons will jump ahead and have a comfortable lead and run the ball safely in the 4th quarter and we end with a game in the low 50's.

Philadelphia at Atlanta under 7 (+100)
I like the under on Monday night. Atlanta is trying to stay ahead of the Cardinals for the Wild Card and have to face Cliff Lee, who has great stuff and some consideration for the NL Cy Young.
Lee has been involved in 12 overs and 19 unders this year. His last 3 starts ended with scores of 3-0, 2-1 and 3-2. He has allowed 2 runs or less in his last 9 starts. The team is 21-10 when he takes the mound.
The Braves counter with Randall Delgado and he faces a Phils team that has lost 8 in a row and stuck on 99 wins. The Phils have played unders in 14 of their last 17 games. Delgado has allowed 0, 1, 1, 3, 1 and 3 runs in his starts. The total runs scored in those games were 4, 5, 7, 7, 3 and 8.
It does concern me that the Braves were shut out on Sunday with just a few hits and look to bounce back on Monday but they do face Cliff Lee.
The game looks to be low scoring based on the pitchers and the playoff atmosphere of the Braves needing to win.

Take the under. It may take awhile for Wisconsin to get going with a new QB and the running game should eat up plenty of clock. UNLV will struggle to get much going and the Badgers will be happy to win this by 4 TD's.
Take under 55.

Both teams didn't produce much offense last week. They should focus more on offense this week. Houston has played overs 5-0 in week 2 in the last 5 years. Look for Drew Brees and Matt Schaub to play well and for us to get over 40 points scored!

The Redskins won easily last week vs. the Steelers and face the Colts who are set at QB with Manning. Curtis Painter will start for Indy while Grossman, Beck and Kellen Clemens will play for the Skins.
Mike Shanahan has a tendency to try to win preseason games. Go with Washington tonight.

The Colts are set with Manning and have nothing to prove. The -7 line does concern me but the Rams should be able to jump ahead early and win by 10 or more. Take the home team on Saturday night!

Look for the Cardinals to break a losing streak at home vs. Arizona. Chris Carpenter started the year poorly but is 3-0 with an ERA under 1 in his last few starts. Jon Jay, Lance Berkman, Matt Holiday and Albert Pujols should do damage against Daniel Hudson who is a decent pitcher.
