Stephen Strasburg starts for Washington and has pitched well but the team is just 7-10 in his starts. The Nationals are 20-26 on the road and play at Miami. The Marlins use Nathan Eovaldi on the mound and his ERA is just 2.55 and he has allowed hitters an on base % of .263 this year. Miami is 2-1 at home against the Nationals. Bryce Harper has returned to the lineup for Washington and that does concern me but there is value in taking Miami at home as big underdogs.

St. Louis at Miami 7:10pm 10* (#907) St Louis -136
The Cardinals are 24-11 on the road and trying to stay ahead of the Reds in their division. St. Louis is well coached by Mike Metheny and led by Matt Carpenter, Beltran, Allen Craig, Kozma, Molina and David Freese. Molina might be the best overall catcher in the major leagues.
Miami starts Jose Fernandez and the reason why this line is low. They are 11-22 at home and just played weak teams like the NY Mets and Milwaukee. They lost to the Brewers by 6-1 and 10-1. Fernandez has an ERA of 3.17 but the team is 6-6 in his starts.
Miami does have played like Juan Pierre and Ozuna who can do some damage.
Jake Westbrook starts for the Cards and he is off an injury and could fail but I like them to pull out a win.

Take the Miami Heat to bounce back on Thursday night as they are down 2-1 and in danger of falling down 3-1 in games. The Spurs are well coached under Greg Popovich and led by Tim Duncan, Manu Ginoboli and Tony Parker but Parker is less than 100%. Gary Neal and Danny Green have played well but the Heat should make adjustments after a poor loss by over 30 points on Tuesday night. DWade is less than 100% but Lebron James should drive to the hoop and get some calls and shoot some free throws as opposed to settling for jumpers.
Chris Bosh and Mike Miller and Shane Battier are pros and should provice some points as well. Heat Coach Eric Spoelstra is a solid coach and should motivate his team after the poor loss on Tuesday night.
I think we see Miami win but take the points.

Seattle pitcher Iwakuma has pitched great as he has allowed only 2, 2, 1, 0. 2, 0 and 1 run in his last seven starts. His ERA is 2.14 in his last three starts. He has allowed just 38 hits in 58 innings this year. Cleveland won yesterday 6-0 and Friday's game was 3-3 in extra innings until a late homer scored three runs to send that game over 8.5 runs. Scott Kazmir has pitched well lately as he has allowed just one run at home to Oakland and two at home to Minnesota in recent home games. He has 17 strikeouts and just one walk in those two starts. I think we see an under on Monday afternoon when Cleveland hosts Seattle.

Texas is 13-5 at home while Detroit is 10-11 on the road. Holland pitches for the Rangers and the team is 6-2 in his starts. He has an ERA of 2.18 in his last 3 starts and has allowed 0, 2 and 2 runs in his last 3 home starts. Doug Fister will pitch for Detroit and his ERA is 4.50 in his last 3 starts. Texas is led by Kinsler, Andrus, Berkman, Beltre, Soto and Cruz. Look for the Texas Rangers to win again on Sunday night as small home favorites.

10* Tampa Bay/Baltimore over 9 (4pm)
These two played a 12-10 game on Friday night. They have combined to play 44 overs and just 29 unders this year. Tampa Bay has played 9 overs, 0 unders, 3 pushed in their last 12 on the road and 19 overs, 5 unders, 4 pushes in its last 28 overall games. The Rays are led by Matt Joyce, Ben Zobrist, Evan Longoria and James Loney (who is hitting .371).
Baltimore starts Jair Jurrjens, who has been pitching at AAA Norfolk in the International League. The Orioles are led by Manny Machado, Adam Jones, Nick Markakis, Chris Davis, Matt Wieters and JJ Hardy on offense. These two scored 22 runs with only 3 home runs. Let's hope they have some more runs in them on Saturday afternoon.

Mauer starts for Seattle and his ERA is 4.11 in his last three starts. He has just 5 walks and 12 strikeouts in that span and has allowed just 3, 4, 0, 2 and 2 earned runs in his last five starts. Ubaldo Jimenex starts for Cleveland. After some bad outings early in April, his ERA is just 1.45 in his last three starts. He has allowed just 1, 2 and 0 runs in those last three starts with just 6 walks to go with 20 strikeouts. I like our chances to see a 4-3 type of game that stays under the total on Friday night.

Washington at San Diego Rot: 959/960 10:10pm Thursday 10* San Diego +135
The San Diego Padres are 10-8 at home. They face Washington's star pitcher Stephen Strasburg, who played at San Diego State in college. Strasburg has been a victim of poor offense from the Nationals as they have scored just 2, 5, 2, 2, 1, 1 and 3 runs in his last seven starts. The team has just one win and six losses in those seven starts.
Edinson Volquez starts for the Padres and the team has won his last two home starts by 5-1 over Arizona and defeated Milwaukee 2-1. He has allowed just 2, 1, 4, 0 and 2 earned runs in his last five starts.
San Diego did beat Strasburg last May by a 6-1 score. Look for a close game on Thursday night with the Padres finding a way to win. There is value in taking the San Diego Padres at home at +135.
Thanks and good luck.

The NYI at PIttsburgh featured poor goaltending and wide open hockey at times. Ottawa had 11 overs and 30 unders in the regular season and led by goalie Craig Anderson. He was a key reason for Ottawa defeating Montreal easily in their opening series.
Pittsburgh will try to open things up with Malkin and Crosby but the Senators are a solid 5 vs. 5 team and should push and pull and play solid defense.

The goalies are solid as Henrik Lundvquist is one reason why the Rangers have a good shot to win. All home teams have won so far.

Toronto +160 is my value pick for the Boston/Toronto game. These two meet in the #4/5 seeds Best Of Seven seventh game after playing yesterday and Boston Bruins struggling to travel back home. Getting the Phils at plus money looks good today. They have split after the 3-1 win on Saturday. Kendrick has a nice 2.45 ERA with a 5-2 record while Arizona's McCarthy has an ERA of 6.75. Kendrick has allowed just 2, 2, 0, 2, 0 and 2 runs in his last six starts.
McCarthy allows opponents to hit .366 and has allowed 3, 4, 6, 4 and 3 runs in his last five starts.
Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, Michael Young, Ryan Howard and Delvon Young are all solid hitters and should do damage for the road team today.

Edwin Jackson starts for Chicago and he lost at Washington 11-5 last September. The last time these two met in Washington we saw games with 11, 10, 16 and 3 runs. Jackson has an ERA of 6.39 is 0-5 with 18 walks in 38 innings. Nationals have Desmond, Zimmerman, Bryce Harper and Dennard Span on offense. Stephen Strasburg starts for Washington and we have won playing against him in 4 of the last 5 games. Last Friday he was down 4-2 and the team won 5-4. The Cubs do have some decent hitters (Soriano, Castro, Rizzo, Barney, Castillo) and Strasburg usually allows few runs. Hope to see a 5-3 or 6-2 game that reaches 8 runs or more.
