Going UNDER the total. This game for me has 5-2 feel written all over it. Kukuchi decent at home. Henry has not been that bad overall on the season. And honestly, the Jays offense has underperformed most of the season. Can they score 8-9-10 themselves. Sure. I like this lineup. But until they get that consistent flow at the plate, I'll grab the under here. On the year - Arizona 45-41 to the under - Jays 47-40. 4* Total Money UNDER Arizona/ Jays

Taking the NATIONALS. Washington can run out Steve Rodgers in an Expos uniform and I would still back them. I faded Matz vs the White Sox and lost. There is not a chance I think he has 2 decent back to back starts. Nats hitting lefties at a .279 clip and Matz can't get anyone out. 2 hits 9 Ks last game. Get outta here with that. I think we get either Gore or Gray here. Both guys rested. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS

Taking the BREWERS. Last 3 times Burnes has faced Reds (twice in 2023) Milwaukee has come away with wins. 7-3 back on July 7 - 5-4 on June 2 and 10-2 back in September of last year. 2 starts this year have produced 12 innings 5 hits 5 runs 13 Ks - 8 walks! - That has been a reason I think for Burnes higher than normal ERA. He had 34 walks in 28 starts in 2021. 51 last year in 33. 39 already. Should we be concerned. I don't think so. He has responded with a .198 BA Against on the road and a 1.05 WHIP/ But playing an Over here isn't something I would shy away from especially with Ashcraft on the hill for Cincinnati. Guy has been brutal at home. (On the entire season also.) A .297 BA Against leads to an ERA of 7.95 in 9 starts! 1.65 WHIP. 19 walks 52 hits in 43 innings and 10 HRs. He gave up 10 to the Brewers back on June 3 in 4 innings. He is off a pair of decent starts vs the Padres and Nats giving up 2 runs in 12.2 innings of work. Not enough for me to a a buyer of him as a home dog though. 4* Money Maker MILWAUKEE BREWERS

Not sure who is going to get the call for the Jays. Gallen on the hill for Diamondbacks Saturday. I am assuming Gausman - and, as good as a season he is having (leads AL in Ks) the team is 10-9 in his starts. At this price, will look to Arizona. 4* Money Maker ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

Taking the BRAVES, going RUN LINE. Only way to go here. I really don't want to lay -145, so I will look for a little Plus Money on the RL. Strider is solid. And honestly - Atlanta is flat our rolling right now. What is this a 26-4 run? 20-2? Tampa is reeling - now having dropped 6 in a row. Taj Bradley is a youngster I like. But the kid has been hit hard lately. He ended June with a 6.26 ERA in 5 starts and promptly opened July allowing 5 runs on 9 hits in 3.1 inning. At home, A 5.70 ERA in 7 starts. He just can't get the clutch outs when he needs them. 25 hits in 26 innings. The cluster hits are killing him. And Atlanta can do that to you, in multiple innings. Things not going right for Tampa. Taking MIAMI. Yeah. Perez got pasted by the Braves. But last place STL is not Atlanta by any stretch of the imagination. This is a last place club sputtering to the trade deadline looking to unload players. Our guy Eury ran into an absolute buzz saw that ripped him for 2 HRs, 7 hits and 6 Earned in a Third of an inning. 1 out! That is it. I expect a major bounce back here. And by here, I mean at home. Nearly untouchable. 3 runs in 26.2 innings of work. Sparkling .86 WHIP and .186 BAA. Jack Flaherty is off a nice win over the Yanks. But his previous two games, 10.2 inning 20 Hits 12 Earned. 10 hits and 6 Earned in both starts vs the Nats and Giants. At first glace you would think the price is low when you look at the Perez numbers, but we also have Flaherty who, if you take out these 2 and a game vs the Angels (10 Earned in 2.1 innings) the guy has give up 22 runs in 13 starts. That being said, Cardinals in a funk the entire season as they sit in last place. Give me the Marlins. 4* Money Maker MIAMI MARLINS

I know Houston just trucked the Cards, but this staff is better. That is why STL is sitting in last place. And before that offensive explosion, the Astros hadn't been exactly raking the ball this season. I don't want to say bad things about Hunter. I have a ROY Ticket on him! Kutter Crawford has better away splits from Fenway, but I am not buying. He was in the bullpen for a reason. But you lose Sale, Kluber, Houck - Pivetta is terrible. 10 starters used by Boston this year tells you all you need to know about their season. 1-8 run last 9 heading into Friday. The Brewers are the 2nd worse hitting club in all of MLB (Oakland #1) with their .226 clip. Barely better on the road at .229 - Look, Bido is nothing fancy. He will go 5, strike out 6, give up 6 hits and 2 runs. Pittsburgh has been feisty as heck though. Down 4-0, they could have mailed it. Nothing wrong winning 2 of 3 from San Diego. They didn't quit and pulled it out late. I don't see that kind of heart in the Brewers. We have talked about the lack of runs for the Padres on the season (48-29 to the Under). Luis Ortiz is coming off a gem - 8 innings of 1 run ball at Miami. Overall he is more of a 5 inning kinda guy. Probably gives up a 4 spot tonight. Even if the Padres get to 6 or 7, I still feel safe based on the way Pitt has been hitting lately. 4* Total Money UNDER Padres/ Pirates

Going OVER the total. Davies has been brutal at home - 5 starts, a 9.90 ERA - 360 BA Against! 32 hits in 20 innings 7 walks - that's a 2.15 WHIP! There will be runs vs the #3 hitting road team in MLB. Eflin overall this year looks like a nice season - it would be a great year if he could get it together away from the Trop. The road has been unkind. In 6 road starts, a 1-3 record and the team is 3-3 overall. He is good for allowing a 4 spot tonight vs a tough Arizona lineup. Won't be shocked if we get this by the 4th or 5th inning tonight. 4* Total Money OVER Tampa/ Arizona

Going UNDER the total here. As I said yesterday, Padres 48-28 to the Under on the year. Helps when your starter is dealing - Snell a .93 WHIP 1.80 ERA his last 7 starts - and that includes 6 runs allowed to Boston. Take that out and he has allowed just 2 runs in 36 innings of work and just 17 hits, 56 Ks. His ERA was 5.30 entering May, it is now 3.22. Pirates can't hit that much. Keller has come back to Earth after a great start. 21 runs in 36 innings. Still striking out guys (36) 37 hits. Just some bad luck and the regression was expected. For me - to many runs here. Can't see San Diego getting a 7 spot here and that is what I think they will need because I don't see the Pirates doing much vs Snell. 4* Total Money UNDER Padres/ Pirates

Taking the BREWERS. David Peterson as a favorite - wow. Look. I totally understand that Milwaukee can't hit a lefty (2nd worse .217), but this cat throws batting practice. This is his first start since May 15th. Well, those last 4 starts - 24 innings 35 hits 27 runs! Mets are no great shakes at the dish. They face Teheran who has been nothing short of great since joining the rotation - .192 BAA .88 WHIP 1.53 ERA. Getting plus money with a guy who has given up 6 Earned Runs in 6 starts. Taking the PIRATES. How the heck is San Diego getting this kind of respect? I mean - I get it, Pirates in a free fall since their hot start. But have the Padres really done enough to be this big a road favorite? They are under .500 on the season and on the road. Darvish has a road ERA of 6.16 in 7 starts. I will also be on the UNDER in this game as well San Diego has trouble hitting on the road (4th worse all MLB .223) and slightly better vs lefties (.253) Pirates find themselves slumping a bit offensively, but Darvish will give up enough for us to get the win here. 4* Money Maker PITTSBURGH PIRATES

Taking TEXAS, going RUN LINE. Yeah. Tough spot off the Yankees series. But I firmly believe that the Rangers are a good team. And a good team should take care of a bad team. Tigers are what, 10 games under on the season and 7 under on the road? Texas is a first place team that is 24-13 at home, cashing the same 24-13 record on the RL. Matthew Boyd is not a top flight lefty. I am not sold on his very good road splits. He faced some rather poor offenses in my opinion. Nothing like this lineup he gets tonight. Rangers are hitting .290 vs lefties. Heaney has had 2 bad starts on the season, both here at home. Opening day, the Orioles tagged him in 2+ innings - then the Diamondbacks got him. His other 12 starts on the year - 3 ERs or less in them all., And 8 of them 2 or less. Tigers overall - 26th in MLB .229 BA and DEAD LAST on the road hitting .215. Rangers at home .285 with 61 HRs. 4* RL Money TEXAS RANGERS

Going UNDER the total here on Sunday night. Gonsolin with a tidy .180 BA against in his home starts with a 1.02 ERA. Hunter Brown also effective on the road posting a .222 BAA and 1.10 WHIP. Astros hitters before the Saturday game. Even if any of these guys go 4-4 Saturday, they are still slumping Altuve is mired in a 1-15 .067 slide - .083 for Abreu 1-12 -- How about Kyle Tucker 3-18 .167? Jeremy Pena .200 3-18.. See a trend. That is basically the heart of your order right now. Houston with the 9th least amount of road runs on the year. We know Gonsolin will go 5 or 6 and give up a run. As bad as LAD is in bullpen, I can't see the Astros scoring 4 against them. 4* Total Money UNDER Astros/ Dodgers

Taking WASHINGTON. Yeah. This is a big hold your nose play. Coming into Saturday action the Nats had dropped 15 of their last 18 games. Yikes. But there is zero chance I am backing Lugo at this price, ML or RL. Guy has a .303 BA Against here at home. If opposing hitters are raking at a 300 clip against, sign me up. I am sure it would shock many to hear that Washington is 6th in all of MLB in team batting average. Normally not what you think of a team 20 games under .500 or however close they are to that. Nats countering with ex Padre prospect MacKenzie Gore. The young lefty has been solid all season. Obviously for him his .226 BA Against while on the road is a big factor here. Couple with the fact that San Diego cannot hit lefties for a lick. - How about a .221, 3rd worse in all of MLB. No team is ever due to win or lose - but I think we have the edge on the mound and at this price, we are firing. 4* Money Maker WASHINGTON NATIONALS

--- For those who purchased this pick Saturday, Take UNDER Houston/Dodgers 8.5 for Sunday Brown vs Gonsolin --- Well... Wacha gets pushed back... This is a void for me since I bet it last night with listed pitchers --- Going UNDER the total. We will start with the rebirth of Wacha. Guy has been dealing all season. 14 games, a 1.05 WHIP, 2.90 ERA. The guy has found his 1st Round Draft pick form again. What an odd career, but when he is on, guy is a decent pitcher. And that is what he has been all season. Home especially - 8 starts, a .201 BA Against, 1.05 WHIP tidy 2.52 ERA. A nice June 4, starts 4 runs in 23.1 innings 13 hits allowed. On the Nats. We think Nats, we think bad. But they have some good young pieces. Gray is one of them. A solid season overall, but the road splits bring us the Under here. 9 games - 2.73 ERA. He hasn't had a good month at all. 4 runs 4 runs 6 runs in 3 of the 4 starts. But there was a 1 run 2 hit gem at Atlanta in there. I'm counting on Wacha being on, and the Padres being the Padres bats - That is, the team that coming into Friday night was 47-26 to the UNDER on the year. Taking the ORIOLES. Marines coming off dropping a series to the Yanks, and now face an even tougher road opponent here in Baltimore. This team has yet to find their stride. Last year this time they were gearing up for a nice playoff run - this year, possibly dealing some pieces away in a month. If Oakland wasn't as historically bad as they are, Seattle could possibly be in last place. At this price, how do we not bet the home team? Orioles continue to win. 4th most wins in all of MLB. And why wouldn't we like that here? This is for Friday, but entering last nights game, the Pirates had lost 9 in a row and 14 of 16. Win, lose, whatever happened Thursday, I am still all in on Miami tonight. Can't bet on teams playing that poorly. Marlins in a nice little groove the last couple weeks. If you didn't already know, Miami the #2 team in all of MLB hitting vs lefties at a.294 clip. Taking the RAYS, going RUN LINE. Well - coming into Thursday action the Royals have gone 3-17 their last 20 games. Rays the best offense at home or at least a very close 2nd when tallying up all the numbers. Grienke looks as if Father Time has called him for a meeting. Road woes for the veteran posting a 6.15 ERA in his 7 starts including allowing 8 HRs. This Rays team can hit in their home park. Eflin looks great this year for Tampa and is a terrific here at home. 7 games a .80 WHIP, 1,96 BAA and 1.85 ERA. How is KC going to score? 5th worse hitting in the league on the road, the least amount of runs scored. 4* RL Money TAMPA BAY RAYS

Taking MIAMI. We will again fade the Pirates. We had the Cubs, again yesterday for another win. We also had the Jays over Miami. That was after we had the Marlins in Games 1 + 2. Think I have a good feel for this Marlins bunch right now. But do we even need it? 9 straight losses and Pittsburgh has no dropped 14 of 16. So much for that fast start. The team is bad. Nothing wrong with that. They have some rebuilding to do. Mitch Keller started off great. He has been leveling off since. And on the road, well, he has walked off the level to a pit. 4 runs allowed at Milwaukee. 5 runs allowed vs Oakland. 4 runs at San Fran. 6 runs at Seattle. Sense a little road trend giving up runs here? How about his overall performance in his last 5 starts? 20 runs. Personally, I think when you have given up 4 or more in 4 of your last 5 starts we have a little problem. Coupled with the Pirates performance this month. Yeah - we take Miami. 4* Money Maker MIAMI MARLINS
