Miami is off a blowout win on TV over LeBron James and Cleveland, however this team has not been playing consistent basketball. They have been in win-one, lose-one mode the last 6 games. Miami has a losing record at home and is 17-36-2 ATS following a win, as well as 11-23-1 ATS against the Western Conference. Portland is a formidable force, the No. 3 seed in the mighty West. They are 9th in the NBA in scoring, assists and points allowed, plus second in rebounds. The Blazers are on a 6-2 ATS run, plus 5-0 ATS in their last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. The Blazers are also 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Miami. Play Portland!

03/17 10:35 PM EST NBA (533) CHARLOTTE HORNETS VS (534) LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS Take: (534) Bounce Back Game of Month: LA Clippers. After what has been an intense stretch, the Clippers get a relative reprieve in their schedule. Five of their next seven opponents have losing records, and the two teams with winning records have worse records than the Clippers. The Clippers, who have lost two games in a row, are tied for fifth place in the Western Conference with a record of 42-25. And great news for the Clippers as leading scorer Blake Griffin returns to the team. Griffin had been out with elbow problems, but returned Sunday against Houston. The Clippers didn't do too bad without Griffin, going 9-6 S/U in his absence. The Hornets have played well of late, winning six of their last eight, though they have lost two of the last three including a 95-69 drubbing at the hands of Washington. Hornets in the dreaded 2nd of a back-to-back spot here on Tuesday. The Hornets played at Utah on Monday evening. Griffin likely had some cobwebs to work out on Sunday in his first game back, but look for a much crisper performance out of him tonight. The Clippers need the scoring punch that has been missing of late and with Griffin back and the Hornets in a tough spot here tonight, 2-8 ATS against the Clippers and 0-4 ATS at the Staples Center. Play the LA Clippers!

A great situational spot for the home team and a bad one for the road team. Detroit is a long way from home playing its 7th road game over the last 8 contests. It's also the second of a back to back spot and this team has been short on wins and spread covers the last two weeks. The Pistons are 7-16-1 ATS against the NBA Northwest division. Utah plays its third straight home game, part of a 5-game homestand. They are rested and playing great defense, second in the NBA in points allowed. The Jazz are on a 9-3-2 ATS run and 23-11-1 ATS in their last 35 games playing on one days rest. And when these teams meet the Pistons are 5-16 ATS in the last 21 meetings. play Utah!

Providence has a losing record away from home and the Friars are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning record. Villanova is a powerhouse offensive team, 20th in the nation in scoring and 13th in assists. Josh Hart scored 20 points, including 11 straight to spark a huge first-half run, and fourth-ranked Villanova ensured it would stick around at the conference tournament a bit longer this time with an 84-49 victory over Marquette in Thursday's quarterfinals. Also the No. 1 seed a year ago, the Wildcats lost their first game in New York on a last-second shot to Seton Hall in this round. On Thursday, things were over much earlier as Villanova made 17 of 29 3-point attempts to win its 13th straight. The 17 3s tied a Big East Tournament record. Penn State had to sweat it out, letting a 16-point lead in the second half dwindle to one. The Nittany Lions are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 neutral site games. Rhode Island is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600. 02/28 09:05 PM EST NBA (511) MILWAUKEE BUCKS VS (512) UTAH JAZZ Take: (512) NBA February Game of the Month: Milwaukee is coming off a win over lowly Philadelphia, 104-88. The win snapped a short, two-game losing streak. Their 104 points also snapped a three game span that saw the club score 89, 86 and 71 points respectively. Still, the Bucks have not been covering spreads very well, going just 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine attempts against the number. But the real kicker is how poorly Milwaukee does in the high altitudes of Salt Lake City. The Bucks are 0-12 ATS in their last 12 trips to Utah. Moreover, Milwaukee is 6-20 ATS in their last 26 overall meetings with the Jazz. Utah is coming off a loss to the Lakers, 100-97, but the club has still won four of its last six games S/U and is 3-1-1 ATS the last five games. The Jazz have had impressive home wins in recent games over both San Antonio (90-81) and Portland (92-76). There is just something about Utah that the Bucks don't like and has shown in their spread mark. I'm sticking with the Jazz here on Saturday as they have proven recently they can beat good Western teams at home and now face a weaker East club. Your February game of the Month is on the Utah Jazz.

02/28 08:00 PM EST CB (671) BOISE STATE VS (672) SAN DIEGO STATE Take: (671) Under the Radar Game of the Year: Boise State. This game might determine the conference regular season winner as 11-4 Boise State plays at 12-3 San Diego State, a meeting of the top two teams in the Mountain West. No.24 San Diego State cracked the top 25 last week as the Aztecs have won four straight and 11 of their last 13. Boise State has also been playing well and is one of those teams that has been under the radar for a good part of the season. This club definitely has the talent to not only win the regular season, but the Mountain West Tournament. Boise has won three straight and 11 of their last 14. Their defense has been playing great, holding four of their last six opponents to fewer than 50 points while only two opponents in their last 11 games has hit 70 or more points. The Broncos have also been great against the spread, winning three straight and going 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games. In addition, the Broncos are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 Mountain West games. Boise has covered four of the last five trips to San Diego State. Way too many points here to lay to a very good defensive team in Boise State. Take the Broncos here on Saturday.

Boston's top three scorers were all picked up in trades over the past few months. Isaiah Thomas scored 19, hitting all 11 of his foul shots, and Jonas Jerebko had 20 points as both played their first home games as members of the Celtics. 2/24 08:35 PM EST NBA (507) TORONTO RAPTORS VS (508) DALLAS MAVERICKS Take: Non-Conference Total of the Year: Toronto/Dallas Over the total. Toronto has been a very good over club all season, especially on the road where they are 15-9 O/U for the season. Yes, they have been a under team in recent games, going under in six of the last seven. However, those games are against good defensive clubs like San Antonio, Washington, Atlanta and Houston. The latter they scored just 76 points against. Don't let those recent games fool you, this Raptors team can score points. They have one of the best offensive efficiency ratings in the NBA at 112.6 overall and 113.1 on the road. Their defensive rating is as bad as their offensive rating is good, evidenced by 107.6 overall and 110.1 on the road - all well above the league average. Toronto is playing the second of a back-to-back spot here. They do well in this spot, going 9-4-1 ATS the last 13 times and 9-4-1 Ov/Un the last 13. In fact, in those 13 games, their games have averaged a lofty 209.2 points per game. And, with the exception of the recent Houston outing and two other games, they have scored well over 100 points in 11 of 14 times. Dallas has been an under club for most of the first half of the season. This was due to an under-performing bench that had the lowest scoring average for the Mavericks since the 2007-08 season. The Mavs made moves to change that picking up standout Amare Stoudemire from New York. The Mavs hope Stoudemire will add some scoring punch to what has been a underachieving bench. I like tonight's contest over. These clubs met in Toronto back in November and oddsmakers put up a 211.5 total. We get a 205 here on Tuesday and I like this game to fly over that number. Take the OVER.

02/21 6:30 PM EST CB (603) CALIFORNIA VS (604) STANFORD Take: (603) CBB Pac 12 Rivalry Game of the Year: Cal. Stanford is home but on an 0-5 ATS run. After starting the season 13-5 they are on a 3-5 run. Meanwhile Cal (16-10) is playing well, on a 5-1 SU/ATS run. They won at Washington State (76-67), won at Washington (90-88), won at home to USC (70-69), won at home over UCLA (64-62 as +4 dog), and at Colorado (68-61 as +7 dog). California junior guard Tyrone Wallace has been named a finalist for the 2015 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. The junior has increased his scoring average by more than six points (11.3 - 17.7 ppg.) from last year and ranks third in the Pac-12. He ranks fifth in the league in rebounding (7.7 rpg.) and ninth in assists (3.6). Wallace is the only individual to rank in the top-10 in the league in all three categories. Cal is 7-2 ATS away, and the Golden Bears are 9-4-2 ATS against a team with a winning percentage above .600. The road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these rivals, so grab the hot and hungry dog. Play Cal.

2/17 09:00 PM EST CB (521) LSU VS (522) TEXAS A&M Take: (521) Platinum Club Play: LSU. The SEC regular season title is going to go to top ranked Kentucky, but Texas A&M is 3rd in the SEC and LSU is 5th, just one game separating the two teams as they jockey for tournament positions. LSU has won two of its last three games and lost by just two points to No. 1 Kentucky on Feb 10, 71-69. The Tigers have the 34th ranked scoring offense in the country at 74.2 ppg and are 6th in rebounding and 22nd in assits, a very aggressive and good offense. A&M is 2-2 in their last four games, coming off a one-point home win over Florida, 63-62. LSU has been good to bettors, covering three straight and is 6-2 ATS their last eight games. They have also done well on the road, going 4-1 ATS in their last five away contests. In addition, they do well against winning teams, posting a 9-1-2 ATS mark the last 12. A&M has failed to cover the last two and three of the last four. LSU has lots of firepower, plenty to keep up with A&M here. The Tigers are a small dog, but I'm looking for a straight-up win. Take LSU.

The Terrapins are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. They face a Penn State (15-10) team that is terrific at home and in revenge mode, losing at Maryland last Saturday, 64-58. The Nittany Lions are 0-7 on the road in the Big Ten, with five of those defeats by six points or fewer -- but now they are at home. 02/11 08:05 PM EST NBA (713) MIAMI HEAT VS (714) CLEVELAND CAVALIERS Take: (714) Eastern Conference Game of the Month: Cleveland. The Cleveland Cavaliers are making their move in the Eastern Conference. The Cavs have won nine of their last 10 and now sit in 5th, but just one game out of 3rd and 3 1/2 out of 2nd in the East. The Cavs have won 13 of their last 14 S/U and are 11-2-1 ATS. Now that Lebron James has proclaimed his health is back and Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are playing well - this team finally appears to be fulfilling their preseason expectations. Meanwhile, Miami is barely holding onto 8th place in teh East and with four teams within three games of them, they look to have a tough road. The Heat will likely be without star guard Dwyane Wade tonight with a hamstring issue. Miami is just 4-7 S/U their last 11 and 6-7 ATS their last 13. Reason: Pac 12 Game of the Year: Very evenly matched game here on Sunday as visiting Washington sports a 15-8 overall record and 10-11 ATS mark. Host Oregon State is 14-7 overall and 13-8 ATS. The Huskies have fallen on hard times lately though, losing four straight conference games and allowing at least 77 points or more in each contest. They are also 1-3 ATS their last four games. Oregon State is coming off a home win over Washington State, 55-50. The Beavers are now 6-4 in Pac 12 play while Washington is 3-7. Huskies haven't been a good PAC-12 team for bettors, going just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 tries. But what I really like here is how well OSU has played at home, posting a 21-7-2 ATS mark in their last 30 home games. Huskies riding a really bad streak and now has to try and break their losing streak at a team that has been a very good home club. I like Oregon State a lot here on Sunday, making them my PAC-12 Game of the Year.

The Raptors still have an excellent 33-15 overall record and 18-7 home mark. However, they are just 11-13 ATS at home. 01/28 07:05 PM EST NBA (703) PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS VS (704) CLEVELAND CAVALIERS Take: (704) NBA Home Court Game of the Month: Cavaliers. For much of this season people asked the question, "What's wrong with the Cavaliers?" They just weren't gelling as a team with talent such as Kevin Love, Lebron James and Kyrie Irving. That questions seems to finally have been answered as Lebron says he's finally got his first step back and is healthy. And the Cavs are finally playing like everyone thought they would out of the gate. Cleveland, 25-20 S/U, has won six straight games (heading into Tuesday's contest) and covered six straight. This after a six game losing streak that had people shaking their collective heads. The Trailblazers star LaMarcus Aldridge will need surgery on his thumb, but he's playing through the injury right now. If Aldridge had surgery he would miss 6-8 weeks and has decided to put it off. That's good news for the Blazers who can ill afford to be without him. Still, Portland has struggled a bit of late, posting a 2-4 S/U record their last six and a 2-5 ATS mark the last seven. The home team has done pretty well in this matchup, going 5-2-1 ATS the last eight meetings. Right now the Cavs are playing at their best of the entire season and I am going to take advantage of this streak. Take Cleveland.

01/27 07:35 PM EST NBA (503) CLEVELAND CAVALIERS VS (504) DETROIT PISTONS Take: (503) Central Division Game of the year: Cleveland Cavaliers. Detroit had been playing as well as anyone until Saturday when guard Brandon Jennings went down with an Achilles injury. Jennings will be out the rest of the year and likely the Pistons good fortunes with him. Back in late December Stan Van Gundy made the bold move to waive Josh Smith and his 57-million dollar contract with almost three years left on it. Since then, the Pistons not only won seven straight games, but were 12-3 S/U. Then came the Jennings injury against Milwaukee and a 101-86 loss. The Pistons played good on Sunday at Detroit and covered the eight point line, but still lost 114-110. I'm afraid with Jennings the wind from the Pistons sails goes with him. Not so for Cleveland who has new life. For the first time all year LeBron James proclaims he has his first step back and is healthy. This could be bad news for the rest of the East. The Cavs have won six straight games both S/U and ATS with a 10 point win on Sunday over a very good Oklahoma City team. The Cavs look like the team everyone expected when they signed Kevin Love and James in the off season. Now they may have arrived and today they will put a hurting on Detroit, who just may have lost it's enthusiasm. Take Cleveland as your Central Division Game of the Year.

They've lost 5 in a row and the Kings are on a 5-13-2 ATS run, plus 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. Golden State is an NBA powerhouse, tops in the NBA in points scored and assists, 12th in points allowed and No. 1 in field goal shooting defense. Stephen Curry had 22 points and 10 assists, and the Warriors held off the Houston Rockets 126-113 on Wednesday night for their franchise-record 17th straight home win. The Warriors (34-6) harassed Dwight Howard and Harden inside and out -- with Andrew Bogut and Green playing the role of lead antagonists -- and the irritation of another blowout loss to the NBA's best team finally set off the Rockets. The Warriors are outscoring opponents by 11.7 points per game this season. Pacers having been doing well as a host against good teams, posting a 3-13 ATS mark their last 16 against winning teams. Overall at home they are 11-23-1 ATS their last 35. Chicago has one of the best offensive efficient teams in the NBA with a 110.4 overall mark. Their defense has been good too, posting a 105.0 mark. Pacers have to play their third game in four nights here and with an offensive efficiency of 101.4, don't expect a lot of points against a good Bulls team. Bulls also looking to avenge a 99-90 home loss to the Pacers back on Nov 15. I like this spot for the Bulls against a tired Pacers club.

The Blazers won their opener against the Thunder, but trailed at the half and pretty much did nothing for three quarters before blasting the Thunder in the fourth. They can't do that here against a very good Warriors team led by last year's best 3-point shooting tandem in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. The Warriors have also done well against the Blazers, taking five of the last seven from Portland. The Warriors are also 9-3 O/U in their last 12 games dating back to last season. Like the visitor here plus the 3 1/2 points despite playing last night, as I've yet to see the Blazers put together a full game of effort.

05/31 08:30 PM EST NBA (523) SAN ANTONIO SPURS VS (524) OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER Take: (524) OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER Reason: High End NBA Metrics Release: Thunder in Game 6. "This is the craziest series I've ever been involved in," veteran Tim Duncan said. He's right, it has been wacky and it can be simply summed up in two words: HOME COURT. Home court has been huge in this series. Which is actually nothing new when these rivals meet, as the home team 16-5-1 ATS and the Spurs are 1-10 ATS at OKC. San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich has a veteran team and is not afraid to pull his starters when they've behind late, which partly explains why they were blown out here in Games 3 and 4. The Oklahoma City Thunder received a lift from Serge Ibaka the last two games on this court. San Antonio won the first two games by an average of 26 points but Ibaka returned from a calf injury and his presence negated the Spurs’ inside advantage and helped the Thunder to a 106-97 win on Sunday allowing 39.6% shooting, then 39.8% shooting in Games 4. The Spurs are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games and the Thunder is 13-6-2 ATS in their last 21 home games. The Thunder is 12-4-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings. favorite is 16-5-1 ATS in the last 22 meetings, so grab the home team to win another one-sided contest. Play Oklahoma City in Game 6.

05/19 09:00 PM EST NBA (503) OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER VS (504) SAN ANTONIO SPURS Take: Inner Circle: Oklahoma City/San Antonio Game 1 Under the total. Oklahoma City has plenty of offensive weapons, but they are turning up the defense as the playoffs go along, on a 4-1 run under the total. That shouldn't be a surprise as OKC is 11th in the league in points allowed and third in field goal shooting defense (tops in the West) allowing .435% shooting. The under is 5-1 in the Thunder's last 6 games playing on 3 or more days rest. After ranking 17th in points allowed and 21st in FG shooting percentage defense two years ago, the Spurs have improved to 9th and 8th in field goal D the last two seasons. The under is 14-5 in in Spurs last 19 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game. When these Western powers meet the under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings and this total is too high with so much at stake. Play the Thunder/Spurs Game 1 under the total.

5/14 09:35 PM EST NBA (739) PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS VS (740) SAN ANTONIO SPURS Take: High End NBA Metrics Late Release: Blazers/Spurs over the total. It's hard to see the Blazers showing up defensive for this game, down 3 games to 2. They were a bad defensive team all season and got smoked by this San Antonio team in the first three games. Portland is on 10-3 run over, as well as 15-5 over the total on one days rest. San Antonio is in bounce back mode after a 103-92 loss and they will tear up this Portland defense at home. The Spurs ranked 6th in NBA in points scored, tops in assists. The last time the Spurs scored 92 or less was against Dallas, a playoff loss, and the next game they scored 108 in a game that sailed over. San Antonio dominated the first three games as Portland can't contain Tony Parker. Parker scored 29 points in San Antonio's 118-103 Game 3 victory on Saturday night. The Spurs had routed the Blazers 116-92 in the series opener after their grueling seven-game first-round series against the Dallas Mavericks, then built a 20-point lead and handily won Game 2 114-97. San Antonio is 5-0 over at home and 35-17-1 over after ATS loss. Play Blazers/Spurs Game 5 over the total.

05/01 8:00 PM EST NBA (525) OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER VS (526) MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES Take: (526) MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES Reason: NBA Metric Release: Memphis Grizzlies Game 6. You need to play the physical game to try and knock Oklahoma City's talent off its game -- and Memphis is certainly doing it. Memphis is big and physical in the post and the Thunder are getting pushed around. The Grizzlies held OKC to 39% shooting the last game and pulled down 50 rebounds in a 100-99 win at Oklahoma City. The Thunder is 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 road games and faces a Memphis team that is on a 21-3 run at home. The Grizzlies are 39-16-1 ATS in their last 56 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, 15-5-4 ATS in their last 24 Conference Quarterfinals games. The final day of the regular season and these teams are playing for the No. 7 and 8 spots. A road trip for Dallas, their 5th road game over the last 7 games. Dallas is a veteran team that is running out of gas, on a 3-6 ATS run. They had a showdown with San Antonio at home and laid an egg in a 109-100 loss and the last game beat Phoenix in a grueling game, but failed to cover. Both were at home and now they head out to red-hot Memphis. The Mavericks are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games following a win. Memphis is younger, bigger and plays more of a physical inside game, 3rd in the NBA in points allowed. Memphis is on a 4-0 SU, 3-0-1 ATS run beating up Miami, 107-102, and the last game they won as a dog at Phoenix, 97-91. The Grizzlies are 38-15 ATS in their last 53 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, plus 4-1 ATS their last five home games. Play Memphis!

4/11 04:35 PM NBA (709) CHARLOTTE BOBCATS VS (710) BOSTON CELTICS Take: (709) CHARLOTTE BOBCATS Reason: NBA Game of the Year: Charlotte Bobcats. Charlotte is motivated, a playoff team that has won 5 in a row while Boston is winding down a lost season losing 9 in a row. Charlotte plays great defense, 4th in the NBA in points allowed and 6th in field goal shooting defense. The Bobcats moved into a tie for sixth in the East with Washington by beating the Wizards 94-88 in overtime on the road Wednesday. Charlotte is on a 20-8-1 ATS run and the Bobcats are 20-7-2 ATS in their last 29 games playing on one days rest. Star forward Al Jefferson always has a chip on his shoulder when playing Boston, the team that traded him for Kevin Garnett. Jefferson had 20 points and 18 rebounds Wednesday for his fifth straight double-double for the Bobcats. Boston (23-55) is going to the draft lottery and can't match Charlotte up front, with the Celtics 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 home games. The Bobcats are 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a losing record and 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Boston. Play Charlotte!

04/05 8:45 PM CB (815) KENTUCKY VS (816) WISCONSIN Take: (815) College Tourney Mismatch Massacre of the Year: Kentucky. The Wisconsin Badgers have not lost to a non-Big 10 team this year, but this is a tough matchup for their front and backcourts. Wisconsin has 6-8 sophomore Sam Dekker (14 ppg) and 7-foot junior Frank Kominsky (13 ppg, 6 rpg) up front and Kominsky can be pushed around and shut down by big, athletic frontcourts. And if he gets into foul trouble or struggles they are thin on big men. He is off a big game against Arizona, but the previous game against Baylor, Wisconsin got outrebounded on offensive glass 11-8 as Komnisky had just 4 rebounds. Michigan State outrebounded them in the Big 10 tourney by +4, an 83-75 Wisconsin loss, as the Spartans shot 57%! During their slump Northwestern outrebounded Wisconsin by +6 and shot 48%, plus they had a 65-56 upset loss to Northwestern. Even in the win over Florida Kaminsky was 3-of-8 for just 8 points, 5 rebounds. And Minnesota blew them out, 81-68, with a +10 rebound edge. All of this is a concern as Kentucky has a powerful frontcourt of 6-9 freshman Julius Randle (16 ppg, 10 rpg), 5th in the nation in rebounds. The Wildcats are 8-1 ATS in their last 8 NCAA Tournament games, 7-0 ATS vs a team with a winning record. In addition, the Wisconsin backcourt has 3 guards at 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3 -- while all 3 of the Kentucky starting guards are 6-6. That's a lot of mismatch opportunities for John Calipari to diagram. The Wildcats are 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 vs. the Big Ten, so grab the SEC team that was a preseason No. 1 -- and is now playing like it. Play Kentucky!

Murray State has home court for this game in Kentucky and welcomes Pacific -- yes, a 3,000 miles trip for the visitors. Pacific is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games and a weak rebounding team. Contrast that with Murray State's No. 79 mark in the paint. When it comes to three-point shooting, Murray State is the No. 53-ranked team in the country at 7.31 per game, while Pacific rates No. 111 at 6.36 per game. Pacific finished just 6-12 in the West Coast conference this season. Murray State is 18-10-1 ATS and one of the best offensive teams in the country,m 37th in points (77.5 ppg) and 30th in shooting .475% as a team. Many look at this matchup as a possible NBA Finals preview. However, if that is to be the case, I sure hope the Pacers decide to come out of this fog they entered. On Sunday, the Pacer long line of apathetic contests continued at Cleveland with a horrible performance. The Pacers fell behind early and were never in the game, losing 90-76 as a 5 1/2 point road favorite. The Pacers have been burning through bettors money faster than Congress with our tax dollars. Indiana has now failed to cover in five straight and is 2-16 ATS their last 18 games. Still, the Pacers are clinging to the best record in the Eastern Conference, with Miami breathing down their collective backs. Can't say the same for the red-hot Spurs. San Antonio has won 17 straight games, including MOV by 16, 31, 5, 22, 9, 20, 16, 18, 34 and 13 in their last 10 games. Bettors have also benefited greatly by this streak, covering 10 of the last 11 and going 13-2-1 the last 16 games with the Spurs. Spurs also in a revenge mode here, having lost their one meeting with the Pacers back in December on their home court, 111-100. Lets not forget that Indiana is in the second of a back-to-back spot here too. The last 16 times the Pacers have played the second of a back-to-back spot they are 4-12 ATS. There is something wrong with this Pacers team and they won't find the cure about arguably the best and hottest team in the NBA right now, the Spurs. Take the Spurs.

Reason: NBA Wipeout Game of the Year: The Toronto Raptors occupy 3rd place in the Eastern Conference and while that is the best they can, they still need to hold off Chicago (one game back) plus Brooklyn and Washington which are nipping at their heals. The Raptors have hit a very soft part of their schedule playing Cleveland, Boston twice and now Orlando. That all changes tomorrow when the club heads south to play Miami then Houston and Indiana. Which is why I don't see the Raptors looking past today's opponent, Orlando. The Raptors are holding off three teams in the East for that third spot and with three tough games coming up, they need these soft wins. The Raptors have secured their first playoff berth since 2007-08 and look to win the Atlantic Division this season. And if there is a team they have dominated, it's Orlando. The Raptors are 6-0 S/U, 5-1 ATS since last season against the Magic allowing just 88.7 ppg to Orlando. Moreover, the last six meetings in Orlando the Raptors are 5-1 ATS. The Raptors are also one of the best road teams in the league, boasting a 24-12 ATS mark their last 36 away contests. Raptors can't let these easy ones get away and the way they have dominated Orlando in recent times is enough for me to see them winning this one easily.

A tough spot for the visitors as the Clippers play their third straight road game, part of a 5-game trip. They opened the trip as 7-point favorite at New Orleans and couldn't even win the game, a 98-96 defeat, then had a tough game Thursday at Dallas, a close win. The Clippers are not a great road team (20-17) and on a 1-4 ATS run. The Clippers are also 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. The Houston Rockets, on the other hand, haven't played anybody this week -- unless you count the Bobcats and 76ers as NBA teams! They shredded Charlotte, 100-89, and waltzed over the 76ers at home, essentially a day off. The Rockets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games, 9-4 ATS against the Western Conference. They will be fired up and focused with the mighty Clippers in town, a showdown game in the West and a possible playoff preview. Play the Rockets.

03/28 9:55 PM EST CB (877) MICHIGAN STATE VS (878) VIRGINIA Take: (878) Sweet 16 Game of the Year: Virginia. A pair of powerhouse defensive teams meet at Madison Square Garden. Michigan State played in Madison Square Garden earlier this season, losing to NIT invitee Georgetown, 64-60. Virgina has an even better defense than Georgetown, tops in the nation. Virginia (30-6) is on an 8-1 SU, 6-2-1 ATS run, plus 16-6-2 ATS, and the Cavaliers have one-two punch of 6-5 sophomore Malcolm Brogdon (12.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg) and 6-6 senior Joe Harris (11.6 ppg). You need defense to contend in March and no one is better, tops in the ACC in points allowed (54.5 ppg), as well as second in field goal shooting (.455%) and field goal shooting defense (.387% allowed). Their selfless, team-oriented play was on display in the ACC tourney, along with that suffocating defense, sweeping three games by allowing 51, 48 and 63 points. They held Duke to 38% shooting in the title game. Coach Tony Bennett demands physical inside play; outscored Duke at line 25-7. Virginia has been blown out just once all season, losing 5 other games by 10, 3, 4, 3 and by 6 in OT. Michigan State can struggle against great defensive teams, losing to Ohio State, G-Town, twice to Michigan and even a 53-46 loss at home to Illinois shooting 39%. Play Virginia!

Instead of being one game out of the top seed in the East, they are now 3....which means pity the Pistons! Detroit has a losing record both home and away and is dismal on defense, 27th in points allowed, 26th in the NBA in field goal shooting defense allowing .467% shooting. Wisconsin lost at home to athletic Michigan (77-70) allowing .547% shooting as the Wolverines nailed 7-13 threes. They are 2-2 the last four games, including giving up 83 points and 57% shooting to Michigan State in the Big 10 title game. The Badgers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a win, 2-6 ATS following an ATS win. They face an Oregon team that is all about uptempo, 11th in nation in scoring (81.8 ppg), tops in Pac 12 in free throws (78%). Oregon has a ton of experience in tourney play, with six guys who were on this team last year, plus two more transfers, including Mike Mouser who was with UNLV last year. Dayton would love to knock off the Buckeyes, who have avoided playing them for years. Dayton (23-12) has been red-hot, winning 10 of 12 games, turning it on at the right time. The Flyers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 non-conference games and 5-2 ATS against a team with a winning record. This is a senior-laden team that is playing confident, winning basketball, 60th in the nation in shooting as a team (.466%). For the first time since 1991, the (23-10) Towson University men's basketball team will be playing in a postseason tournament. This team ranked second in the Colonial in field goal shooting and tops in defense allowing 39% shooting by opponents. Towson has four starting seniors and faces a USC Upstate squad (19-14) that is a bad free throw shooting team (.658% in Atlantic Sun play), is a bad three-point shooting team (32%) and is off a double OT loss to Mercer, the top team in the conference. UConn has had its struggles away from home this year on defense and now they have to contend with a powerhouse Louisville team, one that smoked them twice this season. UConn comes into this one off a squeaker, playing a physical, defensive battle with Cincy, a 58-56 win. While UConn is off a thriller, No. 5 Louisville is off a pair of laughers, beating Rutgers (92-31) and a 94-65 winner over Houston without breaking a sweat. Louisville is tops in the conference in steals, 8th in the nation in points and ripped UConn 76-64 and 81-48 this season, the latter 3 games ago. Louisville's defense frustrated the Huskies into season lows in scoring and shooting (29.4 percent) in completing the sweep. Their previous shooting low was 29.6 percent in a loss to SMU. 03/14 06:00 PM CB (881) SAN DIEGO STATE VS (882) UNLV Take: (881) SAN DIEGO STATE Reason: 1st Round Tourney Rivalry Game of the Year: San Diego State. A pair of Mountain West Conference rivals meet -- and it's a mismatch. SDSU has been a dominant team all year long, while a young UNLV team has stumbled at times because of bad shooting and suspect coaching. UNLV is a weak shooting team from outside and from the line. They prosper only when pushing the ball into the low post as they are athletic, but San Diego State cannot be pushed around down low. The Aztecs are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games following a win and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games. SDSU is a powerhouse defensive team, tops in the Mountain West in points allowed (59.9 ppg) and tops at defending the three. They are also second in rebounding defense, which will be a key here. No. 8 San Diego State had a 73-39 victory over Utah State in the quarterfinals yesterday allowing 29% shooting while they shot 52%. San Diego State also outrebounded the Aggies 35-27 and outscored Utah State in the paint, 40-14. The Runnin' Rebels are 6-19-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings with SDSU. Play San Diego State!

03/14 7:05 PM EST NBA (803) INDIANA PACERS VS (804) PHILADELPHIA 76ERS Take: (803) NBA Chalk Game of the Month: Pacers. So the team president, Larry Bird, is disappointed with his team. "A lot of times, we don't take the fight to them (the opponent)," Bird said. They snapped a 4-game losing streak by beating the Boston Celtics 94-83 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, but this is their first game since those comments became public. The Pacers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of less than .400 and face the worst team to come down the pike in years. Philly has packed it in, losing 17 in a row. The 76ers are 16-36 ATS in their last 52 games overall, 4-22 ATS in their last 26 home games. The 76ers defense is a joke, allowing 111.1 ppg (last in the NBA) and 47% shooting by opponents (also last in the league). The Pacers are 13-5-2 ATS in the last 20 meetings in Philadelphia and will score at will while their defense -- after getting verbally trashed by Bird -- will play a great game. Play the Pacers!

03/12 7:00 PM EST CB (669) TEXAS TECH VS (670) OKLAHOMA STATE Take: (670) Big 12 Tourney Game of the Year: Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State (20-11) is on a 4-1 SU/ATS run, a tough team to defense. The offense is 16th in the nation in scoring (80.7 ppg) behind 6-4 soph Marcus Smart (17.9 ppg) and 6-3 senior Markel Brown (17 ppg). The Cowboys have been on a hot run, beating Kansas, 72-65, allowing 40% shooting overcoming a 10-point deficit in the second half. Marcus Smart hasn't increased his scoring since coming back from suspension, but he's playing more like a point guard. He's improved his shooting from 3-point range, nearly doubled his assist average, and he's averaging 5 steals per game. This team is 5th in Big 12 in scoring, and better defensively than people think: 4th in field goal shooting defense allowing 42%. The Cowboys are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a losing record. Meanwhile Texas Tech (14-17) is on a 1-4 ATS run. Not a big frontcourt, with (2) 6-7 juniors Jordan Tolbert (11 ppg, 5.9 rpg) and Jaye Crocket (13.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg), 9th in the 10-team league in scoring (64.5 ppg). They won 65-61 at home over No. 19 Oklahoma State as +6.5 dog early on. That ended a 3-game skid losing at K-State (66-58), Oklahoma (74-65) and at WV (87-81). They allowed 48% shooting to OK-St, 39% threes (5-13). As fans stormed the court to celebrate Texas Tech's 65-61 win, Marcus Smart shoves a fan late. That was the low points of the Cowboys season, so look for them to play with a chip on their shoulder and stick if to Texas Tech. Play Oklahoma State!

03/07 8:35 PM NBA (815) PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS VS (816) DALLAS MAVERICKS Take: (816) NBA Western Conference Game of the Month: Dallas Mavericks. Portland is off a big home win over Atlanta, but note that the Blazers are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a win of more than 10 points. That was a bounce back spot as they were off an embarrassing home loss to the Lakers as 12-point chalk. Portland heads out on the road after a 4-game home stand (and 7 of the last 8 at home) and the team is 4-12 ATS in their last 16 vs. the NBA Southwest division. Portland's defense is a problem, 25th in the NBA in points allowed. Dallas is home and super-motivated, 8th in the league in points scored and trying to hang on to the 8th and final playoff slot. They are 19-10 at home and come off a strange game, losing 115-110 at Denver. Dallas shot 53% but Denver went to the line 36 times, the Mavs only 9! Dirk Nowitzki had 27 points to lead the Mavericks, who lost their third in a row. It's their first three-game losing streak of the season. "I've been saying all along that if we don't play hard, we'll get torched by anybody," Nowitzki said. The Mavericks are 36-16 ATS in their last 52 games following a loss and 41-15 ATS following a spread loss. Dallas is 5-1 in the last five meetings with Portland, so grab the hungry home team. Play Dallas!

Bradley (12-19, 7-11 MVC) played tough down the stretch, a 2-1 ATS run whipping Southern Illinois and losing at Drake in the finale but getting the cover. The Braves are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing record. They catch a break getting Loyola Chicago (9-21) in the Missouri Valley tournament, a team that is 4-14 in the MVC. This offense is terrible (297th in the nation) and they are riding a 6 game skid, plus losing 9 of the last 10. The Ramblers are 2-14-1 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a losing record and 0-6 ATS against the Missouri Valley. Bradley boasts a 32-17 lead in the all-time series against Loyola, and swept the regular-season series versus the Ramblers. Play Bradley!

03/05 06:00 PM CB (751) WEST VIRGINIA VS (752) OKLAHOMA Take: (752) OKLAHOMA Reason: TV Game of the Month: Oklahoma. It's the home finale for Oklahoma (21-8, 10-6), and a big game in a three-way Big 12 second-place tie. West Virginia heads out to Oklahoma, which is not a good thing as this team plays no defense and has been terrible on the road (4-7 SU). It's also a revenge game for the home team as Oklahoma lost 91-86 in OT at West Virginia. West Virginia has given up 83, 88 and 83 their last 3 road games (all losses). Oklahoma is 11th in the nation in scoring with 82.3 ppg and playing great, on a 4-0 ATS run. The Sooners, ranked No. 23, are 13-3 at home and are coming off a 77-65 win over then-No. 23 Texas on Saturday. West Virginia snapped a three-game losing streak with an 81-59 home win over TCU on Saturday. The Sooners are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games, 4-0 ATS against a team with a winning record. The Sooners won all three meetings last year and the Mountaineers are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings overall. Play Oklahoma.

03/04 8:05 PM EST NBA (507) MIAMI HEAT VS (508) HOUSTON ROCKETS Take: (508) Non-Conference TV Game of the Year: Houston. Think the defending champs are going to be into this one? It's a Western Conference game away from home. This Miami team is picking its spots, and this is the second of a back to back spot after hosting Charlotte yesterday. Miami is 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on no days rest. Houston is home and has been on a roll, a talented, deep team that loves to run at opponents, 3rd in the NBA in scoring. But they can also play defense, 5th in the NBA in field goal shooting allowed (.437%), third best in the West. Houston is rested, not having played since Saturday, a 118-110 win over Detroit. "We got a big halftime lead and didn't play well in the second half," Rockets coach Kevin McHale said. The Rockets are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning record. With the champs in town look for focus the entire game, making this is a great situational spot for the home team. Play the Houston Rockets.

03/01 2:00 PM EST CB (639) MISSOURI STATE VS (640) WICHITA STATE Take: (639) CBB Revenger of the Year: Missouri State. Wichita State has the pressure of 30-0 on them. They are off a dominant defensive game but the Shockers are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game. Missouri State (19-10) is in town, a team that is quietly playing good basketball and third in the Missouri Valley. They do everything well, including shooting the three-pointer (ranked second in the conference at .368%). The Bears are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. the Missouri Valley conference and these teams played a wild 72-69 game back in January in OT, a close Wichita win. Missouri State led 42-24 at the half and both teams played great defense, both under 40% shooting. Missouri State hit 10-27 three pointers (37%) and has more than enough to keep this close again.
