Taking the METS here. Looking for NYM to wrap it up tonight. Let's be honest. Both these teams have had awesome years. Fact is though, the Cubbies just don't have the arms to compete here. I believe they have the better hitters. 'They' said the Cubs were a year away. Well, they are at least a starter away. Comes down to pitching and the Mets have the better arms here. 4* Money Maker NY METS

Taking the ROYALS and the OVER here. Pressure is on the Blue Jays here. I think we will some runs on the board again. But also think KC is going to advance to another World Series. I will be the first to say I thought the Jays would be playing deep into October. But I have to admit, after taking out Texas, these guys seemed to think they won it all already. KC is not to be over-looked. They are a tough, gritty, grind 'em out team. I think we will see runs early, but I like the KC bull-pen to preserve a 9-7 type game. 4* ROYALS and OVER

Taking the BLUE JAYS here. I have said on numerous podcasts and radio spots, this Blue Jays teams crushes mediocre pitching. And that is exactly what is on tap here Friday night. Edison Volquez went 17-6 with 206 Ks in a career year.. That was in 2008! He is what he is. A slightly better than .500 pitcher with a 4 something ERA. Just the kind of pitcher Toronto has crushed all year. Estrada took the most of his opportunity to be a full time starter posting a tidy 1.09 WHIP, .203 BA Against and an ERA of 3.13. Not too shabby. I said in July after the Price and Tulo deal, this was the team to beat. They have a great blend of speed (Ben Revere) power (Bats EE) leaders (Martin, Dickey). 4* Money Maker TORONTO BLUE JAYS

Taking the DODGERS here. Tough laying 150 against a guy like DeGrom. He fanned, what, 13 Ks last game. The kid is good. But how can we knock Greinke either. The guy had epic year, and was sharp his last time out. I would think about going RL here, but +165 doesn't seem like a good enough value on the return. This can easily be 1-0, 2-1, 3-2. Runs will be at a premium. I am the first to say I thought LA was going to choke away a playoff appearance, and this first round. I have seen enough from Kershaw in his outings and from the LAD themselves that this team has a bit of an attitude about themselves. They have a nice combo of veterans and youngsters. Let's lay it with Greinke here. 4* Money Maker LA DODGERS

Taking the ASTROS here. I will be the first to say, that was about as bad a loss as a team can take the other day. Man, I had the 'Stros and, yes, I am guilty of counting my money there. The bullpen is a weak spot for them. But here, all hands on deck. If it gets bad early, we will see Keuchal and your worries should subside. Fact is, Cueto hasn't been all that effective since coming to KC. Hitters raking him to a .307 average in 13 starts. And his post-season numbers leave much to be desired (5.52 ERA 4 starts 14+ inning 1.70 WHIP). Houston playing with house money. They were predicted to be at least a year, maybe 2 away from really contending. Pressure is on the reigning AL Champs here. McHugh is 2-0 1.38 in 13 innings vs KC. For what it's worth, Astros 9-4 last 13 vs Royals. 4* Money Maker HOUSTON ASTROS

Taking the RANGERS here with Hamels. This guy can pitch under pressure. We are perfect in this series. Rangers twice on the road. Jays twice on the road. I think I know the way these teams play. Toronto looked into Hamels. They wanted him for this spot. They got David Price. No slouch. But he's on the bench in this Game 5. And make no mistake, they can say they needed him out of the pen, but the fact is, his post-season numbers are garbage. So Hamels, a LCS MVP and World Series MVP, is no stranger to big October games. 11 straight wins for Texas with the big lefty on hill. At this price, how can we not take him. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS

But I can see him going up and in and eventually clipping a guy. Won't be shocked to see him ejected. Sometimes, too much emotion is not a good thing. Taking the BLUE JAYS. Right back on the Jays. We cashed Texas in 1&2, now look for the Jays to take 3&4. Dickey has been excellent since the All-Star break posting a 2.80 ERA in 15 starts going 8-1. For me, it is about the way Donaldson and Eddie E have hit Holland. Both with a pair of homers. Texas has fared as well vs Dickey. With Beltre still out, and Choo and Fielder (2-25 1 hit apiece .80 BA) struggling, the Rangers run is about to be snuffed out. 5* Best Bet TORONTO BLUE JAYS

Taking the METS here. Look. We cashed the Rangers yesterday in a similar spot. Kershaw is a great pitcher. But the fact is he spits the bit in the post-season. A 1-5 5.12 ERA in 11 games, 8 starts. He has been great posting a 1.22 ERA last 17 starts. But the Mets have their own stud on the hill. DeGrom can match zeros here with Clayton. A 2.54 ERA on the year, .98 WHIP. I am not a fan of his road splits for sure. That being said, I think the NYM line-up is better than LAD even if Puig plays. Cesepedes has transformed the entire team around him. If we get home-style DeGrom all we need is a Kershaw mistake for a 1-0, 2-1 win. Runs will be at a premium for sure. So let's take a dog with a solid starter and a good 'pen behind him. 4* Money Maker NY METS

Kazmir has had missed results also, but has better road splits. Plus. I look at KC as the favorite here. They don't have the hunger like last year. Now down 0-1, this young team might panic a bit. Taking the RANGERS here. Will come back to these guys again after cashing them as huge dogs yesterday. And why not. It isn't like Cole Hamels is an inexperienced arm. He has loads of post-season experience(7-4 3.09 ERA). This is why he is here. Well, more for next year since I am sure nobody thought Texas would make this run. But here we are. Now, Stroman has been nearly unhittable since coming back. I can't say a negative thing about the kid. But anything is possible in play-off action. Taking the ASTROS here. with Keuchal on the hill. This guy just might edge out David Price for the AL Cy Young Award. Obviously, he has very impressive numbers at home, but his road splits aren't very sexy. Doesn't matter to me though. This Yankees team will have a hard time getting their bats on the ball here. At home, he tossed a SHO 6 hitter with 12 Ks back in June vs NYY. In the Bronx, 7 innings 3 hits 9 more Ks. The big names for the Bombers are older guys who will have trouble catching up to this kid. I just don't see it happening. Even on short rest, I expect a big performance based on what a monumental feat this is for Houston. I will say Tanaka surprised me since his arm didn't explode. He had a solid year, but let's be honest, the guy ins't healthy. They skipped a start for him because of his hammy and he comes back to give up 4 runs in 5 innings. Astros torched him in Houston for 6 earned in 5 innings. Let's give Giardi and the Yanks some credit for getting here. No Tex. Arod a huge come-back year. But really, Ellsbury and Beltran weren't that good. Gardy and McCann had solid years. But this team clearly over-achieved. Astros advance. 5* Best Bet HOUSTON ASTROS

Tigers are closing shop on a wasted, lost year. Verlander is a shell of his Cy Young self. He has pitched better lately, but I'm not sold on him, or his line-up. And especially that bullpen. Rangers are 4-1 last 5 times facing the Verlander. One final thought. Texas winds up the year with a series vs the Angels. Taking the RANGERS here. Texas is just a game back of Houston for the AL West lead. No way they sweep the M's on the road you say? Look. Texas is a good team. They feast on middle of the road starters which Nuno is. Actually, he is a back of the road in my eyes. Texas has won 7 of 10 and 9 of 12. 8-3 last 11 on the road. Rangers have won each of Perez's last 4 starts vs the Mariners. 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS

Taking the INDIANS here. You know I like this team. We have been on them for most of the year with mixed results. But we should start calling them the WINdians! Look, Sammy has been brutal the last month for the White Sox. They didn't deal him and he has just imploded. White Sox 1-6 his last 7 starts. Tribe 6, Sox 7 back of Texas for the final wild-card spot. So they still both have a glimmer of hope for October baseball. That being said, I can't take the home team here based on the way Samardijza has pitched. Indians 4-1 last 5 here in Chicago. Tomlin in his 5 starts so far has looked very good. A .71 WHIP with 32Ks in 35 innings holding batters to a .173 BA against. We'll grab Cleveland at this price. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS

Taking the METS here. No way the Nats get swept at home right? Did you see the game last night. Blowing a 7-1 lead. Put a fork in Washington. They are done. Taking ARIZONA here. I do like CMart for STL. The guy has made me money this year, both at the window and my fantasy league. That being said, I think he is hitting the proverbial wall. He is has thrown about 60 more innings than last year. You can see in his last 2 months that it might be catching up to him. On the other side of the coin we have Ruby DLR who seems to be turning it on of late. A 2,54 ERA his last 7 games. His ERA was 5.06 on July 12 and now sits at 4.32. He doesn't have the sexy wow-K factor, but I'll over-look that here. 5* Best Bet ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

Taking the WHITE SOX here. I will be honest. I like Quintana. The guy just fires quality start after quality start for us, 19 and counting. He doesn't have the record to show, but he is a good arm. I think the White Sox have the better offense and will be able to get to Miley. Red Sox 4-12 last 16 on the road and 2-6 in Miley's last 8 starts. 4* Money Maker WHITE SOX

Taking the ASTROS here. Hard not to back Keuchal. The guy has been great all season long. We had a great pitchers duel here last night. And, this guy is the best of the 4 pitchers the last 2 nights. At this price, we can't pass up the Keuchal. I think Houston will get 3-4 off of Nova and negate the Yanks real strength, their bullpen. 4* Money Maker HOUSTON ASTROS

Taking the PHILLIES here. I nearly took them last night and would be smacking my head against a wall after blowing a big early lead. That being said. I know the Mets are absolutely crushing the ball right now and it is tough to fade them. That being said, sometimes you have to look at something ugly to find something truly beautiful. And a +190 home dog is something to behold in my eyes. Syndergaard hasn't been pitching that great his last 3 outings. Gone more that 5 innings just once. A 4.88 ERA August ERA with 13 earned in 24 innings and a .284 BA against. Let's take a shot with the big dogs. 4* Money Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
