Taking the ROCKIES here. DeLaRosa has some ugly numbers on the year. But he seems to be finding a groove since coming out of the bullpen. His last start he went 5 innings giving up just 3 hits. In his previous 3 relief appearances, we see combined numbers of 13 innings, 11Ks 6 hits with a WHIP near 1 and BAA in the 120s. Paul Clemens of Miami is making his first MLB appearance since 2014 and just his 6th career start. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES

Taking the ROCKIES here. Lost with a couple dogs yesterday (Mil,SD) and again will look to take back some dollars. Chatwood has an MLB best .65 road ERA working in his favor and is 5-0 in 6 starts there. A .168 BA against and .84 WHIP. As for Chen. I have backed him a couple times this year. I thought he would be good in the NL. He had very respectable ERAs pitching in Baltimore. But the long ball has dogged him since arriving in Miami. 15 in his 13 starts. He is sporting a 5.71 June ERA. I can't back a guy like that vs someone with Chatwood's road numbers. 4* Money Maker COLORADO ROCKIES

He had a 5.56 ERA going into his last start and after going 7 scoreless, first time he's held a team scoreless, his ERA is now 5.05. Suarez is making just his 3rd start. Even if he goes 5 or 6 innings here, I will be comfortable with a rested SF bullpen that didn't see action last night, and has pitched 2 innings since Wednesday. 4* Money Maker SF GIANTS

Taking the ROYALS here. I like this kid Duffy. Back in '14 I picked him up in fantasy. Kid was pretty solid. He has shown some good stuff. He just needs the role full time. He has improved his last 3 outings as he stretches his arm back out. I know we are going to get a solid 6+ from him. Plus. This line. Looks a bit suspect to me. I have faded Verlander a couple times and he has been anything but going 4-2 1.93 ERA last 7 starts. He also has dominated KC to the tune of a 20-8 record over his career. Yet, he is only laying 115 here? 4* Money Maker KC ROYALS

We have yet to see him in his peak, but he has put together some more than solid outings of late. His 2 May starts have been dominate. His WHIP and BAA are better than most. Kennedy is trying to find the glory of 4 years ago. His last 2 starts have been disasters. As much as I am fading him here, I am also thinking that the KC lineup will have some trouble here who he has had success against. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS

Taking the WHITE SOX here. I know Shields was pounded in his Sox debut. And his last 2 starts have been absolutely horrible. 4+ innings, 16 hits, 17 earned. I attribute that to knowing his time in SD was coming to an end, and overthrowing to show his new team that he hadn't lost anything. But, who the heck am I? Just some guy trying to find value betting bases. Shields is not the 'Big Game James' of years past. Not even sure what that means since he is 3-6 5.46 ERA in 11 post season starts. Regardless. He had an ERA of 3.06 before his last 2 starts. I think he regroups here as he is on a team that can hit. Has a decent pen. And he isn't the #1 or even the #2 so that takes some pressure off of him. Boyd is a youngster who I really don't have a feel on yet. I just think at this price, we play the veteran with something to prove. 4* Money Maker CHICAGO WHITE SOX

Taking the NATS here. One. Anytime I can get someone like Scherzer at this price, I am jumping on the train. I am not going to say he has been unhittable. He is sporting an ERA at over 3.50. But the BA against is a solid .212 and a WHIP of 1.05 isn't terrible. He is still missing bats, (107Ks 88inn). I also think that we get the advantage of a guy with something to prove tonight. Last time in Wrigley, (May 6) the Cubbies bombed him for 7 earned in 5 innings. I am not knocking Hendricks one bit. The guy has given up more than 2 runs just once his last 8 starts. The one that helps us though is his poor road numbers. 1-4 4.23 ERA. 10* Money Bomb WASHINGTON NATIONALS

I mean, if he gives up 6 we might have a problem, but that being said, the Angels are in some kind of downward spiral. They just got swept by the Yanks. Now they fly all the way back home to face a Cleveland team who just played up the coast. Just a bad spot all around here for them. Santiago has given up 19 runs in his last 15+ innings. He actually has been pretty good in 3 of his last 4 starts. 4 runs in 16 innings. His one bad outing, 11 hits, 4 runs, 6 innings vs Phils. Maybe he has turned the corner a bit. Regardless, I think the Tigers can hit CC. I was ready to push CC to the pen during spring training. But the guy has turned back the clock, and is arguably the Yanks best pitcher with Tanaka. A 2.58 ERA? Come on. He gave up 3 runs in every April start and has proceeded to give up exactly 3 runs in every start (5) since. Taking the WHITE SOX here. Verlander has been pitching much better in his May starts. 2 SHOs and he has lowered his ERA to respectability. I think the White Sox have a nice shot in the arm getting James Shields. Guy is a solid innings eater and will help deepen the rotation. It shows they are 'all in' as they say in going for it. I would have liked a bat to help today, but I think they are heading in the right direction. As for our starter, can Quintana get some offensive help please. 4 straight losses for a guy who's ERA 'ballooned' to a robust 2.13 after a 2-4 2.61 ERA month of May. I like my dogs. Taking the ORIOLES here. So I just had the Marlins as a free play yesterday on the bases. But I thought long and hard about adding the Yanks. Figured Tigers were coming from the west coast, and it was a random make up game. But I couldn't pull the trigger on Pineda. He pitched OK and the bullpen actually made it close. That being said. We get the O's at a short price here at home. Could be a sucker play. Tillman is 7-1 2.92 ERA on the year and a .203 BA Against. Baltimore has won his last 4 home starts vs the Yanks. And the Orioles are 7-1 last 8 vs NY and a 22-8 run last 30 vs the Bombers here at home. Eovaldi has pitched good his last 3 starts. 2 runs in 18 innings on 9 hits with 17 Ks. My problem here is the anemic Yankee offense and the fact that their 'big 3', of Betances, Miller and Chapman all pitched last night. Maybe all of them get run out there again tonight. I'm just betting on the Baltimore lineup getting enough runs to eliminate that element all together. 4* Money Maker BALTIMORE ORIOLES

He has shown some nice flashes last year. But he hasn't been dazzling in Triple A. Just some average numbers at best. I have backed Gausman a few times this year. He is someone I like to keep in my stable. He is 0-2 in 7 starts. He has a 3.24 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, not terrible by any stretch. Even a .239 BA against isn't really hurting him. Taking the WHITE SOX today. I guess the lines-makers are finally catching on to our fade Harvey train. He's a home dog here. Wow. Look. My opinion is that he is tired out. Off Tommy John surgery, everyone, me included, ridiculed him for his agent saying he wouldn't pitch in post season. I think he should have. You never know if you will back to the World Series. But I believe we are seeing the lingering effects of that. That being said, his numbers speak volumes. 6+ ERA, .330 BA Against (330!), 1.69 WHIP. He has a 7.56 ERA here in May. After his loss today, I wouldn't be shocked to see a 'DL' visit for him to get his head straight. I like Jose Quintana. A guy you can always back. Never laying a huge number. But keeps us in games. He is sporty a tidy 2.22 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. Not terribly dominating, 60Ks in 65 innings. I guess you can say he has been 'roughed up' his last 2 starts. Taking the DODGERS here. Granted, I am the first to say I have had mixed results taking rookies making debuts this year. But this kid Urias from LA. Man, he does have some impressive so far at Triple A. 44ks in 41 innings. I mean. Look. His minor league numbers are off the chart. But to be honest, this line, begging you to take the Mets with deGrom. He is actually pitching to a 4.63 ERA in May. Also, his strikeouts are down. I am not saying he is in Harvey type area, but he also had an increased work load. Maybe he is still figuring things out, or has a sore/tired arm. Either way. deGrom's numbers the last 2 years, and the fact that NYM are a good team, a team that went to the World Series, and this price is this short. Well. that tells me something here. Leake has looked sharped this month, especially his last 3 starts giving up just 2 runs over 21 innings with a sub .200 BA Against and WHIP below 1. Can't complain about those numbers. Joe Ross started a perfect 3-0 with an impressive .79 ERA. The correction has come with 4 straight May losses and a 4.50 ERA this month. The strikeouts are there for him, but giving up more than a hit an inning is costing him. Let's grab the small dog here. 4* Money Maker STL CARDINALS

But the Tigers got him for 4 runs on 5 hits in 5+ last game out. Not saying he is going down the tube. But we have seen young guys impressive in their first starts before. I think the Marlins have a decent lineup. These games have been 1 run affairs so far in this series. At this price, we have grab Miami. I guess when a guy is 1-5 (9starts) with a 8.21 ERA and is favored the opposing team is brutal. Well, at least Shields will give a fighting chance. And on a side note real fast. Peavy hasn't been good since a 19 win season, in 2007! Those sub 3 ERAs are a long time ago. .343 BA against almost a 2 WHIP. This is a straight fade. But I will lean Nola here. The kid has looked better and better every time I see him. The numbers don't lie. .90 WHIP .193 BA Against. He has a 2 ERA this month. 6 runs in 4 starts, 27KS in 27 innings. And just 20 hits allowed. Sanchez in 24 innings. 22 hits and 10 walks, 0-3 6.38 ERA this month. Taking the BRAVES here. Will grab Teheran in this spot. If he was on any other team, the guy would be a Cy Young contender. Instead, he toils on this rebuilding franchise. Teheran is posting a tidy .67 ERA here in May with a .82 WHIP and .176 BA against. For the year, 2.73 ERA .216 BAA 1.11 WHIP. The 1-4 record is more for the Braves lack of offense. The guy hasn't given up more than 2 runs since mid-April. Braves back home a long home stand with their ace on the hill, and a new manager calling the shots. That will be a nice little boost in the arm tonight. Enter the Brewers. I like Jimmy Nelson. I think he has the makings of a staff ace for Milwaukee. But I think in this spot, the way the Braves are hitting lately, edge to the home team. And let's be honest. With a 2-17 record at home, Atlanta has to start winning here sometime. Right. A bloated 8+ ERA for the month. Clevinger making his 2nd career start. Went 5+ striking out 5 giving up 4 earned last time out. He was the top arm in the Indians system for whatever that is worth. You know I like my guys who miss bats. Porcello the ole pitch to contact guy. A 6-2 record and 3.51 ERA is respectable. So is he .228 BA against and 1.09 WHIP. But the ERA is high for a reason . He gives up hits with men on base. At his historic best, he is a guy with a 4+ ERA and never a big strikeout guy. Indians have won 5 of 7 against Sox. Taking the ORIOLES here. Kevin Gausman deserves better. Guy is rocking a 3 ERA. 0-1 in 5 starts. Poor kid has given up 10 earned runs and can't find a win. I think the Baltimore bats can muster some offense tonight against Matt Shoemaker. Shoemaker lowered his ERA nearly an entire half a run by giving up only 3 runs in 5 innings last game. A respectable 8.49 ERA coupled with a .328 BA against and 1.85 WHIP has have to have the O's sluggers licking their chops tonight. Plus Shoemaker has been absolutely abused pitching at home this year. A 14.40 ERA in 3 starts lasting just 10 innings allowing 20 hits and 17 runs. That translates to a .417 BA against and WHIP of 2.70. Yikes! Like I said in my pre-season team W/L preview, this Angels team is going to be bad. This line up is not producing. Tex, Arod, Beltran, all guys they rely on are banged up and all closer to 40 than 30. Some clown OF from Boston they signed to a ridiculous contract. They already had Ellsbury. His name is Bret Gardner. And Gardy has been better. I do like Castro and Didi though. After that. This team is clearly in sell mode when July gets here. The rotation is in trouble. Yes they have a great 3 arms in the bullpen. But they don't help if you are losing and can't score runs. Remember the Nats sitting, this guy, Strasburg, during their post season run a few years back? Well, they are still looking to get to a World Series. That being said, I think Harvey is still over coming his post surgery. As common as this stuff is, it still takes time to get back to really being 100%. Harvey has a .311 BA against and a WHIP of over 1.50. That isn't going to cut it against any MLB line-ups. Right now these guys are on 2 different ends of the spectrum. Now, this isn't news to Bartolo, but I am sure he isn't happy with it being tabloid front page material. Back to the baseball side of things. GG has a tidy 1.93 ERA in 7 starts with just 2 wins to show for it. .224 BA Against 1.12 WHIP not terrible numbers. He has given up more than 2 earned once, (5) against the Cubs. Now, he has 2 starts under his belt already this year going 12 innings (4 runs) for a perfect 3 ERA. The guy really doesn't have terrible career numbers (14-11 3.21 32 games 30 starts). He should really be given a spot at the end of someones rotation. But in all fairness. He isn't Cole Hamles and the Rangers coming off a loss. Taking the ROYALS here. Defending champs trying to find a little bit of the last 2 years magic. They have struggled so far this year. But I do like what I have seen from them on a whole. Porcello has been savior in the rotation for the Sox. 6-1 with a .99 WHIP, respectable ERA for sure. Just feel like the regression is coming. I am not saying he isn't going to go somewhere like 16-8 or along those lines. But he isn't a big strike out guy. His BA against is nearly 70 points below his career numbers. So I don't think we are seeing some newly invented guy. I think we are seeing a guy pitching about his head. Porcello pitches to contact most of the time. Royals are patient and are too good to be slumping for extended periods of time. Ventura has been impressive in his 3 home starts (.177 BA against 2.65 ERA). 4* Money Maker KC ROYALS

Taking OAKLAND here. Have to fade the Texas train here with Holland on the hill. I will be the first to say I had these guys as AL West Champs if they can hold it together with Yu coming back. But Holland, I think they should start looking somewhere else. Can't find a much worse option, especially on the road. Holland brings a miserable 7.40 road ERA to town in 4 starts. 24 hits in 20+ innings, 17 earned. Yikes. Hitters slapping him at nearly a .290 mark. The 10 walk/ 12 strike out ratio doesn't help matters either. I can't discount a bit of let down spot either from Texas. They took 2 of 3 from the Jays, and started a melee. There is really not a much of a positive spin for me to place on Manaea and his 11+ ERA except that he has an awesome first name (Sean!). Still, I think Texas is in a bit of spot where the A's can steal a home win. The numbers show Holland is bad, but Manaea's has his beat. Taking the WHITE SOX here. You know I am not big on faves, especially a 140 road favorite. But Chris Sale is something special. Also, we aren't getting any real value at +110 on the RL either. That is what they have been doing recently. But with the exception of David Price, they haven't faced a guy like Sale. And even against Price. Taking the BRAVES here. I like this Wisler kid and he is coming off a gem vs the Mets. I think he controls the Philly bats tonight. The guy has a .90 WHIP and .175 BA against so you know he make things tough for the Phillies. Philly counters with Adam Morgan who hasn't gotten past the 6 in either start so far (5,4). 4* Money Maker ATLANTA BRAVES

Taking the MARINERS here. Another case of a line I am concerned about. But I make my money long term in MLB by backing solid starters and not laying heavy numbers. So when I can get King Felix, even with less velocity, at home, laying a short price, I will grab it. Even with a drop in MPH, Hernandez is still posting solid numbers. K's are down, just 29 in 36 innings, but with 2300 innings logged, that is expected. He is still producing a .204 BA against after being roughed up by the A's for 8 runs on 9 hits in just 4 innings of work. He has great career numbers vs TB (7-2 1.90 15 starts) and I attribute the blip against Oakland as a team that sees him more, so they can get him on a bad day. TB just beat up on the Angels who I have been an under team from the start. They send Matt Moore here who is also off his worse start of the season. With 4 straight wins, Rays are now 9-9 on the road. Seattle is just 5-7 at home, but with the hot hitting of Cano, Kyle Seager finding his stroke, and the powerful Nelson Cruz lurking, I think we have a safe play here. 4* Money Maker SEATTLE MARINERS

Taking the METS here. Will grab Matz here on the short price. Take out his first start and he has an ERA of .66! And that first start was basically because of quirky scheduling and not pitching at all. The kid has been a beast since. 29Ks in 27 innings. Dodgers are home after playing a weekend set across the country, in another country for that matter vs the Blue Jays. Mets a short drive away after playing San Diego. Kazmir, though with a nice strike out to inning ratio, has a bit of a high ERA which tells me, and you for that matter, he gives up hits at the wrong time. If he gives up his normal 4 runs in 5, 6 innings, should be another W for Matz and the Mets. 4* Money Maker NY METS

Taking the INDIANS here. Have to say, my gut is telling me to take the Astros with Friers here. I see this line and shake my head. The guy has a 5+ ERA, teams hitting over .300 against him, and a 1.40 WHIP. And we are sitting basically at PK vs Kluber. Indians bats have been up and down yes. But, Astros are a strike out machine as a team and are facing a guy who Ks a man an inning. His last 3 games have been gems. He did start out rocky with a low point of the Mets rocking him for 9 hits and 6 earned in 6 innings of work. But minus that game, the guy is putting up Cy Young numbers. 3 earned his last 24 innings with 23Ks and 12 hits. Career wise Kluber is a solid 4-1 1.48 ERA vs the 'Stros. 4* Money Maker CLEVELAND INDIANS

Taking the OAKLAND A's here. I generally will fade the Sunday night winner, especially off a win off a bitter rival. Red Sox/ Yankees may have lost some luster, but Boston is no fan of NY. And getting a big win like that puffs out their chest some. Now they can be flat against a quality starter like Sonny Gray. Gray hasn't been particularly sharp his last couple outings. Walking way too many for my liking. But there is no way I would back Clay Buchholz anytime. 4* Money Maker OAKLAND A's

Taking the ROYALS here. Well, the reigning World Series Champs are looking more like chumps dropping 7 of 10. But the Bombers are not much of a bombing team. Yes they might explode against the Red Sox for a few runs. But as we saw last night, this offense is nothing special. It is old and needs HRs to win. Yanks feel good having won 2 of 3 from their rivals. But KC needs to start putting some wins together. White Sox are off to a fast start and are looking to be this years Royals surprising everyone. So we get Nova who has pitched poorly out of the pen for what will probably be 5 innings depending on his pitches. KC lineup deep and works pitch counts. Both bullpens are above average. Chris Young will give us 5, if we are lucky 6 innings tonight. If the bats hit like they suppose to, we should have a relative easy win tonight in the boogie down Bronx. 4* Money Maker KC ROYALS

Taking the PHILLIES here. Can't not grab Nola at this price. I know Marlins have been winning, but Philly has the edge here on the hill. A .80 WHIP, .176 BA Against. 25 hits in 40 innings with 44Ks. What else is there to say? A 20 inning scoreless streak and team hitting .64 against him in road starts. 4* Money Maker PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

Taking TAMPA BAY here. I have written here about my fade train of Jered Weaver. The guy with an 83 MPH fastball that is trying to a pass himself off as a MLB starting pitcher. I will be first to say that a 3-1 record in 5 starts hasn't shown me any profit. But the odds-makers know what is coming as he hasn't be favored more than 125 and is in pick'em most of the time. Like today. Before getting shelled my the Brewers for 7 runs in 5 innings, Weaver had a .286 BA against 1.41 WHIP with 11Ks and 7 walks in 26 innings. Those numbers ballooned to .325 BA against and 1.62 WHIP. Not saying that TB is going to rock out 11 hits in 5 innings here. But the fact is Weaver is out there soft tossing balls to guys who get paid to hit. With the loss of Richards at the top of the rotation, Pujols at .202 with 140 million due the next 5 years, Simmons hitting .216, this team is a mess. LeBron can carry 4 guys on the court. He can always have ball. Trout can't hit in all 9 slots and isn't a pitcher. Tampa Bay 5-1 last 6 times faces Weaver including 5 straight here at Angel Stadium. 4* Money Maker TAMPA BAY RAYS

Taking the RANGERS here. Had these guys last night, and will come back with Griffin today. Guy has been great this year. That's that. A .180 BA Against, 1.00 WHIP, 2.32 ERA with 20 hits allowed in 30 innings to go along with 26Ks. He hasn't pitched in 2 years. Griffin was 21-11 with 3+ ERA with 47 starts and a .230 BA against and not a terrible WHIP. Sometimes it takes a guys a bit longer to get back from TJ surgery. And then we have Mike Pelfrey who is 6 years removed from looking like a starting MLB pitcher. The guy is sporting a .359 BA Against and a 2+ WHIP. He has walked (15) more guys than he has K'd (12). 4* Money Maker TEXAS RANGERS
