DMack's NCAAB Play of the Day is on Gonzaga Without question the feature matchup of the day. The Vols are are 5-1 with the loss coming versus Kansas on a neutral floor. The Zags have powered through everyone including Duke and have already register four top 50 wins. Gonzaga has some injury problems which has hurt their bench depth but in the end, they have the same thing that gave Tennessee fits in the Kansas game, big physical people that score inside, get to the line, or kick kick it out to perimeter shooters. Zags a gaudy 61% inside the arc. Zags 88-76.

Their five-point win over a lowly St Peters tells the real story. Miss State is 7-1 with its only loss by five points to Arizona State. The Bulldogs have quality wins over Dayton and St Mary's. The supremely coached State team won't hurt itself and wins by 10 points.

DMack's Saturday NCAAB Upset Shocker is on the Xavier Musketeers Cincinnati is on an eight-game win streak after losing its opener to Ohio State. The Bearkats are No.5 in the country on defense and play a slow deliberate walk it up style, looking to keep game on the 70's range. The Muskies are hitting a little less 58% from the field inside the arc. This is the first true road game for the Muskies but .... keep in mind that this is an in-city rivalry with 20 minutes and Cincinnati traffic appears. Xavier 68-64.

That also means they are 1-6 outside the Top 100 .... not very good. Wouldn't hesitate in the least hear with a far more talented Mizzou. The Tigers start two freshmen and a soph and play at a very deliberate pace but the SEC is 9-3 ATS L12 vs. The Summit so we'll go ahead and pull the trigger here.

On the court, the Drakesters start a senior and three juniors and they can score, 83 and 95 points the last two game. Wisc-Mil knocks down just 30% of it's treys and is in the bottom 10 in the country in creating turnovers. If Drake has an average shooting night, they run the Panthers out of the gym and there is not much the home team can do about it.

DMack's Michigan/Villanova National Championship Super Play is on the Michigan Wolverines Full disclosure in that this game is tough tough tough to play and even the total when looked at closely is a total stumper. Michigan has walked through this tournament, playing virtually hand-picked opponents (nobody higher than a No.6 seed) while Villanova has won all five games by 12+ points and off a near flawless performance vs. Kansas. There is no recent history between the two as Villanova won last the last meeting 60-55 in 2014. At the end of the day, the last five National Championship games have been decided by six or less with the dog winning three times. Michigan has won 14 straight games, HAS TO BE BETTER than Saturday and 7 and a hook is 7 and a hook. No better reason than that.

Very little separates these teams as both play a slow deliberate pace (both around No.250) with Penn State maybe having a slight edge in the backcourt and the Utes a small edge in the front court and perimeter shooting. In the end, we'll grab points with the more experienced Utes. The crowd will by 90% Penn State but that will be well mitigated by a team that started the year as the No.33 team in CBB in experience. This one goes right to the wire.

DMack's CBI Game Two Super Play is on the North Texas Mean Green North Texas got ambushed early on in Game One when the Dons hit 8 of their first 10 treys and rushed out to a 20 lead from which the Mean Green could not recover. North Texas has lost seven straight games where it has scored less than 80 points so they'll be looking to get up and down and shoot the ball well. San Francisco hasn't played a true road game since February 10th. The Dons have allowed 80 points in just three games, twice to Gonzaga so this will be a battle of wills. Like North Texas to force a Game Three here with a rather convincing 85-67 type of win here.

Western Kentucky is 11-3 L14 and is off wins at Oklahoma State and USC. The Utes have won 9 of 11 including an OT game at St Mary's. In the end, Utah started the year as the No.33 team in terms of experience and this is a veteran bunch that is in it to win it. Utah gets almost 40% of its points from beyond the arc and if they have any kind of shooting night against a team that plays average at best perimeter defense, the Utes should win comfortably.

DMack's CBI Game One Super Play is on the North Texas Mean Green San Francisco has won 8 of 9 home games and that is exactly why they are here. They won three games in this tournament but only by 4-5-3 points against teams they really should have dusted. North Texas find the going easier in this tournament than in the CAA where they lost 7 of their L8. They won their three games by averaging 92 ppg. and smoked a very good South Dakota team on the road. These teams have one common opponent in the WCC San Diego Toreros who beat San Fran twice and lost to North Texas in OT. Should be a close game and we'll grab the points with the team that can score.

Like the fact that the Chips play well on the road and are actually 8-5 ATS in true road games. If the Chips get off to fast start, it will be tough to run them down. Central Michigan 83-72.
