02-06-22 | Providence -6.5 v. Georgetown | 71-52 | Win | 100 | 3 h 10 m | Show
DMack's Sunday College Hoops Big East Brunch winner is on the Providence Friars At 6-14 (0-9), Georgetown is sadly a train wreck for Patrick Ewing who will likely be an NBA assistant again by next fall. The Hoyas are winless since Dec 15th, are No.337 in the country in shooting percentage and just 1-3-1 ATS in the Big East as a home dog. Providence is probably the best team plays under-the-radar and it couldn't be happening for a better guy and excelent coach than Ed Cooley. The Friars are well rounded, very experienced, have won six straight and are 7-0 in Big East games decided by eight or less. Prov won the first go around 83-75 at home three weeks ago but a little defense and some attention to detail here would make the Friars 12-15 point winners. |
02-05-22 | Texas Tech -4.5 v. West Virginia | 60-53 | Win | 100 | 6 h 48 m | Show
DMACK'S BIG 12 GAME OF THE YEAR winner is on the Texas Tech Red Raiders Texas Tech is 7-2 L9 and their last five conference wins are all by double-digits sandwiched around a double-overtime loss at Kansas. The Red Raiders jave lost three of four on the road but are starting to play great and present a terrible matchup for West Virginia whom they beat by 13 on January 22. This isn't your typical Huggie Mountaineer team and it show. The Mounties play NO defense and are No.350 in the country in defensive rebounding. Further, West Virginia doesn't take care of the ball and face a team that is No.13 in creating turnovers which they do on 23.7% of opponent possessions. Tech right back as a double-digit winner as the Big 12 game of the year. |
02-04-22 | Oakland -3 v. Northern Kentucky | 78-87 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 59 m | Show
DMack's Horizon League Super Play winner is on the Oakland Grizzlies The (11-9, 7-4) Norse have won five straight but that's been more a product of convenient scheduling that anything team related. The Norse are young and have played the 345th toughest schedule in Div-I. Oakland (16-5, 10-1) are young but play great defense and get to the fould line where they score more than 20% of their points. Supremely coached by Greg Kampe who has 658 wins with the school, the Grizz are always a handful versus their own kind. Oakland 66-57. |
02-04-22 | Miami-OH v. Akron -7 | 55-66 | Win | 100 | 8 h 19 m | Show
DMack's Friday Night Big MAC Attack winner is on the Akron Zips Miami, Ohio is just not very good. It's a veteran team but the Redhawks are 2-6 in L8 and 2-8 L10 vs. teams ranked in the Top 200. The Zips are young but win close games and are a perfect 9-0 versus teams outside the Top 200 (Maimi, Oh No.228). The Zips have won the last five in the series and the last two on this floor by double-digits. Akron 80-67. |
02-03-22 | Boise State +1.5 v. Wyoming | 65-72 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 45 m | Show
DMack's Mountain West Bail Out winner is on the Boise State Broncos Boise just might be one of the better teams that you haven't seen or heard about. The Broncos are 17-4 and a perfect 8-0 in conference. Boise is a veteran outfit and started the year 36th i the country in terms of game starts. That carried them through the first meeting that saw Boise win at home by three with a 7-2 run down the stretch. The homestanding Cowboys are young and good with that three-point loss their only conference defeat on the year. Wyoming was down big but came back to beat Colorado State in OT in their most recent. Legs could be in play here but regardless, like Boise to figure it out and finish. Boise State 68-62. |
02-03-22 | St. John's -4.5 v. Georgetown | 90-77 | Win | 100 | 5 h 47 m | Show
DMack's Early Big East Bankroll Builder is on the St John's Red Storm It's almost sad to see Georgetown in this state under Patrick Ewing. The Hoyas have lost nine straight and are just 1-8 vs. the Ken Palm Top 100. The Johnnies still run and gun, playing at the fourth fastest tempo in the country but their attention to detail is not as strong on the defensive end. St John's won the first go around by 19 in Queens and it's hard to see the Red Storm not winning by double-digits on the run back. St John's 76-65. |
02-02-22 | Villanova -4.5 v. Marquette | 73-83 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 47 m | Show
DMACK'S NOVA/MARQUETTE BAILOUT SPECIAL winner is on the Villanova Wildcats Very little separates these two teams but Villanova will be salty and loaded for bear here. The Cats have won four straight on the road, all by four or more points, two by double-digits. Marquette won at Philly in early January in a game that saw Nova up nine with 10 minutes left to play. The Wildcats play eight players and don't use the bench much so these are tried and true veteran players. Marquette started the year with the No.349th most experienced team out of 358 division teams so Shaka is doing a great job with a young team that has played the No.9 toughest schedule. Big East home faves of six or less are 4-8 ATS and though we don't put much credence in "revenge" per se. fully expect that Jay Wright will have his team ready to play. |
02-01-22 | Michigan State -3.5 v. Maryland | 65-63 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 17 m | Show
MACK ATTACK TUESDAY BIG TEN SUPER PLAY winner in the Michigan State Terps Maryland has its moments but at the end of the day, the Terps are a bottom third of the table Big Ten team. Bill Parcells used to say that you are what your record says you are and the 2-7 Big Ten Maryland team that has lost its last three conference games by double-digits is pedestrian at best. This Michigan State team is one of Izzo's best and rebounded from loss at Illinois by hammering Big Brother (Michigan) in Lansing and has two more lay downs prior to Indiana and Wisconsin at home. Very manageable number here and the Spartans take care of business. No need to fear the turtle here. |
01-31-22 | Colorado State v. Wyoming +1 | 78-84 | Win | 100 | 18 h 11 m | Show
DMACK'S MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE GAME OF THE WEEK winner is the Wyoming Cowboys. Colorado State is somewhat counterfeit in my opinion. Their 16-2 record is against a muffin schedule and their two losses are by 25 to Duke and by 15 to San Diego State. Wyoming is probably the best team you haven't seen or heard about. The Cowboys are a perfect 8-0 in Laramie this year which has traditionally been a tough place to play. Wyoming is for real and they've proven it home (8-0) and on the road which is telling. |
01-29-22 | Santa Clara v. San Francisco -7.5 | 85-88 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 49 m | Show
DMack's Free Play for Saturday, January 29, 2022 is on the San Francisco Dons These are two pretty evenly matched teams out of the West Coast Conference. They are both basically support staff for Gonzaga, St Marys, and BYU but have their moments. Santa Clara is decent, plays solid defense, but has no depth. San Francisco is young but very big and very physical. The Dons pound the ball down inside and are shooting 55.7% inside the arc. San Fran is 11-2 and will be in an especially bad mood after losing to St Mary's Thursday in a game they were up by 23. San Francisco has won four of five in the series overall and 6-1 L7 vs. Broncs on this floor. Dons roll. |
01-29-22 | Connecticut -8.5 v. DePaul | 57-50 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 5 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY BIG EAST BIG BALLER winner is on the UConn Huskies UConn is very good and I think we'll see more of that down the line in tournament play and March Madness. The Huskies throttle teams like DePaul. In fact, UConn has won last three by 17 (Butler), 19 (Butler), and 23 (Georgetown). The Demons are 1-8 in the Big East to this point and I would need to be getting 13-15 to even take a look. UConn by 20. |
01-29-22 | Yale v. Princeton -3.5 | 80-74 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 3 m | Show
DMACK'S IVY LEAGUE GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the Princeton Tigers Princeton has won 10 straight and is just rolling through the Ivy League. The Tigers are 15-3 this year and have not been beaten on their home floor. Yale is second best of the "You'll work for us later" but the Elis are just 9-9 and 2-5 on the road. No substantial points here. Call this one Princeton 72-63. |
01-29-22 | Baylor -3 v. Alabama | 78-87 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 52 m | Show
DMACK'S BIG 12/SEC CHALLENGE SUPER PLAY winner is on the Baylor Bears Bama has played the toughest schedule in the country to this point so 13-7 isn't a true indicator of how good the Tide is. That said, Bama just 2-4 last six in the night in and night out rigrs of the SEC. Baylor is still the champs and the Bears two losses have strangely come in home games. Baylor plays great defense, top rebounding, scores enough, and supremely coached. Bears stay undefeated on the road with 10 point win. |
01-28-22 | Cleveland State +2 v. Wright State | 71-67 | Win | 100 | 13 h 23 m | Show
DMACK'S HORIZON LEAGUE GAME OF THE WEEK winner is on the Cleveland State Vikings Absolutely wrong favorite here. Wright State is as counterfeit as they come and the Raiders have no bench and are 11-9 playing the No.338 toughest schedule in the country. Cleveland State is the real deal! The Vikes are the second most experienced team in the country, win close games, and are a Horizon conference team that is 13-4 playing the No.27 ranked schedule in the country. The Vikings have played a number of very good teams on the road and have won or been right there against several very good Power 5 teams. Calling for Cleveland State to win this by double-digits. |
01-27-22 | Weber State +1.5 v. Northern Colorado | 85-76 | Win | 100 | 12 h 39 m | Show
DMACK THURS COLLEGE HOOPS POWER PACK winner is in on Weber State Weber State is a good up and down team against their own kind and are averaging 87 ppg in their last four Big Sky games. Northern Colorado plays no perimeter defense and has been burned by the three all year. The Wildcats make amends here losing last two visits to Greely. Wrong favorite here. |
01-27-22 | Troy State +6.5 v. South Alabama | 63-82 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 34 m | Show
DMACK THURS COLLEGE HOOPS POWER PACK winner is in on Troy State Too many points to give to a Troy team that comes at you in wave and plays excellent defense. South Alabama basically plays seven players and also plays very good defense. Just can't pass 6+ points in a game that figure to play into the 50s or low 60s. |
01-27-22 | Loyola-Chicago -6 v. Southern Illinois | 44-39 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 32 m | Show
DMACK THURS COLLEGE HOOPS POWER PACK winner is in on Loyola Chicago This is basically a home-and-home with Loyola winning the front end 59-47 at home on Tuesday. The Ramblers are shhoting better than 57% inside the arc and allowing just 56 ppg. in their true road games. The Salukis just don't have the fire power to keep up here. Loyola by 12-15. |
01-26-22 | San Diego State -2 v. Utah State | 57-75 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 23 m | Show
MACK ATTACK MOUNTAIN WEST GAME OF THE WEEK winner is on San Diego State Utah State has had a nightmare season losing its last four games by seven points or less. The Aggies beat Oklahoma early which fooled many including myself that this team would be something but a 2-7 record vs. Top 100 opposition speaks for itself. Their only real advantage here is that Logan is such a pain in the ass to get to. San Diego State is typical Aztec basketball and rocks the No.1 FG% defense in the country while grinding you down on offense. SDSU just crushed a decent UNLV team for the second time and meets a similar stylistic team to themselves that does it half as well. Mountain West road faves of -5 or less are 8-3 ATS. San Diego State is your winner. |
01-26-22 | Creighton -4.5 v. Butler | 55-72 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 38 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS COLLEGE HOOPS APPETIZER winner is the Creighton Blue Jays We've made a lot of moeny fading Butler against better teams as the Bulldogs are a far cry from the Brad Stevens teams of a decade ago and can't score. In fact, they shoot 27% from downtown while allowing their opponents a robust 57% from inside the arc. Five of six of Butler's Big East losses are by double digits. The Blue Jays are young this year, don't use much bench and are just starting to figure things out. They are shooting 55% inside the arc and have score 80 in three of their last four wins, not hitting the mark in a 60-49 win over walk it up DePaul. Creighton rolls here winning by double-digits. |
01-25-22 | Arizona -2.5 v. UCLA | 59-75 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 34 m | Show
DMACK'S ARIZONA/UCLA BAIL OUT SUPER PLAY winner is on the Arizona Wildcats Arizona is very good and the Cats only loss was 77-73 at No.12 Tennessee early on. Since then, they've walked through everyone and their three Pac12 road wins are by 25-28-25 points. The exepectations level for UCLA was much too high coming into the season. If you really examine last year, UCLA was not going to make the tournament but caught fire in the Pac12 tournament and March Madness taking them to the Final Four. Getting blown out by Gonzage early is no big deal but loss to Oregon and hard fought wins over the likes of Cal are extremely telling. Could actually see Arizon going to 4-5 here. The best number is out of the barn but this one might not be that close. Arizona 84-75. |
01-25-22 | Michigan State +5.5 v. Illinois | 55-56 | Win | 100 | 10 h 6 m | Show
DMACK'S TUES NIGHT COLLEGE HOOPS DOG BITE winner is on the Michigan State Spartans Sparty is on a role for Izzo winning 10 of its L11 games. Typical Izzo with a scrappy interior defense and strong rebounding but this team can shoot, knocking down 39.8% of their shots from beyond the arc. Illinois is very good and will have the best player of the floor in Cockburn (check status, game time decision at this writing) but is 7-5 against Top 100 opposition. Both teams have played tough schedules (No.16 and No.18) and will be that much better for it down the line but Michigan State has also had the Illini's number winning five of the last six in the series and four of the last six in Champaign. Just two many points in a game that be decided in the final 30 seconds. Take Michigan State. |
01-24-22 | Weber State +2.5 v. Southern Utah | 92-84 | Win | 100 | 11 h 16 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS BIG SKY GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on Weber State Former UNLV interim Todd Simon has done a tremendous job with Southern Utah, developing the Thunderbirds into one of the better teams in the Big Sky in just a few short years. That said, the T-Birds have struggled against Weber State. The (13-5, 6-1) Wildcats are a young, athletic, up-and-down team that has win three straight while averaging 85.7 ppg in the process. Weber shoots 55% inside the arc generates 21.4% of their points from the foul line, 24th best in the country. Weber is 8-2 L10 in the series and 5-2 in their L7 games in Cedar City. Weber State wins straight up by 6-8 points. |
01-23-22 | St. Peter's -1.5 v. Canisius | 60-63 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 42 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS MATINEE MONEYMAKER winner is on the St Peter's Peacocks Canisius is just 6-12 (2-5) against the No.222 ranked schedule in the country and has lost three of four. The Golden Griffs are the epitome of the matador defenses allowing opponents 56.6% makes inside the arc. Further, MAAC home teams of -3 or less are just 5-9 on the year. St Pete's is 7-6 (5-1) and has won four straight allowing 59.5 ppg. They force turnovers 24.7% of the time. The Peacocks have won despite not shooting well and if they can't get that rectified here, they probably never will. |
01-22-22 | Kentucky v. Auburn -3.5 | 71-80 | Win | 100 | 5 h 13 m | Show
DMACK'S KENTUCKY/AUBURN SEC BIG TICKET winner is the Auburn Tigers This is a terrific matchup between two teams that have big chances to make the Elite Eight and or the Final Four. Kentucky has won four straight while averaging 85 ppg. with one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country. Auburn has won 14 straight games and the Tigers only loss is a 2X OT loss to a very good UConn team on a neutral floor. The Tigers are a slick outfit and very very good at home and that's the difference. UK is 2-2 in true road games and won't roll over this team. The number is very fair and fully expect to Auburn to extend late for an 8-10 point win. |
01-21-22 | Toledo +4.5 v. Ohio | 87-69 | Win | 100 | 8 h 28 m | Show
DMACK'S TOLEDO/OHIO EARLY COLLEGE HOOP RIM ROCKER winner is on the Toledo Rockets Ohio has won nine straight games albeit against a soft (No.268) schedule. The Bobcats are very soft in the paint and that will nt be a good thing against a Rocket team that is averaging 85 ppg. over its last five games. Toledo (14-4, 6-1) has played a somewhat stronger schedule (No.225) but has shown it can win on the road, winning three straight roadies, two by 13+ points. Neither team uses any bench (No.351/No.334) and getting more than two buckets for the more athletic and fluid team. Toledo straight up. |
01-20-22 | Connecticut -7.5 v. Butler | 75-56 | Win | 100 | 10 h 14 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS COLLEGE BASKETBALL BIG BALLER is on the UConn Huskies This Butler outfit is a a far cry from the Brad Stevens teams of a decade ago. The Bulldogs are 2-5 in their L7 with all five losses by 15+ points and 1-8 in nine games vs. the Ken Palm Top 100. UConn is the real deal and play a stifling defense that is third in the country in defensive FG% inside the arc. The teams played three days ago with the Huskies winning by 17 points and are 3-0 all-time in Big East play with all three wins by 12+ points. Take UConn. |
01-19-22 | Mississippi State +6.5 v. Florida | 72-80 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 29 m | Show
DMACK'S NCAAB POWER 5 GAME OF THE WEEK winner is on the Mississippi State Bulldogs These are two middle of the road SEC that are headed in different directions. Mississippi State has won six of seven and looks to continue that momentum in just their second true road game. Florida is 4-6 L10, 1-3 L4, and 2-5 vs. teams inside the Ken Palm Top 100. The main difference between these two teams is that Mississippi State is No.11 in the country in offensive rebounding, snagging 36.7% of their misses while Florida is just the 269th best defensive rebounding team in the country .... not real conducive to covering a number like this. Mississippi State 68-65. |
01-18-22 | Utah State +3.5 v. Fresno State | 54-61 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 10 m | Show
MACK ATTACK LATE COLLEGE HOOPS BAILOUT winner is on the Utah State Aggies The Aggies are 10-7, the Bulldogs are 12-4 but .... Utah State's SOS in No.57 to this point, Fresno State checks in at No.195. Utah State is also No.68 in experience while Fresno State is No.197. Add to the mix that the Aggies have won the last six in the series and their last five trips to this floor. Wrong team favored here .... UTAH STATE CAN PLAY! Straight up! |
01-17-22 | Pennsylvania v. Princeton -5 | 64-74 | Win | 100 | 7 h 53 m | Show
DMACK'S NCAAB IVY LEAGUE GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the Princeton Tigers This line is very fair despite the disparity in records and here's why. Penn is 6-11 (3-1 Ivy) but has faced the No.95 toughest schedule in the country. Princeton is 13-3 (3-0) facing the No.317 toughest schedule. Princeton has won seven straight D-I games, has the No.10 best defensive FG% defense in D-I, is on their own home court, and 6-0 vs. teams outside the Top 200 (Penn N0.218). The Tigers are also the 72nd most experienced team in the country vs. the #270 Quakers. Princeton will be at its best here. |
01-16-22 | Niagara v. Iona -10.5 | 55-78 | Win | 100 | 4 h 50 m | Show
DMACK'S SUN COLLEGE HOOPS NOTHING BUT NET book buster winner is on the Iona Gaels MAAC home favorites are just 3-11 to this point but consider this. Niagara in 7-7 versus the No.246 toughest schedule in the country and is just 1-3 in four games played against the country's top 200. Iona is 13-3 (5-0 in the MAAC) against the No.130th toughest schedule and of course coached by Rick Pitino. The Purple Eagles are actually 5-3 L8 in the series and have won four straight on the Gael's home floor. Not on Pitino's watch. This is a statement game for Iona ..... 77-61 Gaels. |
01-15-22 | Oklahoma State +13.5 v. Baylor | 61-54 | Win | 100 | 10 h 39 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY COLLEGE HOOPS DOG BITE winner is on the Oklahoma State Cowboys There is no doubt in my mind that Baylor is the best team in college basketball but the Bears are certainly more defensively gifted than they are putting the ball in the hole. We called for Texas Tech to beat them straight up during the week and they did, handing Baylor it's first loss of the year. Baylor does not win by margin and no Big 12 home favorites have going 0-5 ATS. Take Oklahoma State. |
01-15-22 | NC State +14 v. Duke | 73-88 | Loss | -116 | 7 h 44 m | Show
DMACK's SATURDAY ACC SUPER PLAY winner is on the North Carolina State Wolfpack Two teams headed in opposite directions with the Pack losers of six of eight while the Blue Devila are on a 6-1 L7 run the other way but ..... State's last two wins came on the road at V Tech and Louisville and double-digit home favorites in the Power Five conferences have burned ticket after ticket, the ACC 1-5, the Big 12 0-5. We'll grab 14 here with a North Carolina State team that will come to play. |
01-14-22 | Monmouth -5 v. St. Peter's | 62-67 | Loss | -118 | 10 h 21 m | Show
DMACK'S FRI COLLEGE HOOPS WEEKEND APPETIZER winner is on the Monmouth Hawks St Pete has not played in 27 days and even when they were playing, the Peacocks were 321 st in defensive field goal percentage and their two D-I wins were against the No.242 and No.245 teams in the country. Monmouth is 10-3 and that's having played nine true road games against the No.93 toughest schedule in the country. Monmouth is No.10 in experience, plays excellent defense and hasn't used much bench to this point. Enuff said, Monmouth wins by 10. |
01-13-22 | Oakland +1.5 v. Cleveland State | 70-65 | Win | 100 | 15 h 26 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS COLLEGE HOOP BIG BALLER is on the Oakland Grizzlies These are the two kingpins of the Horizon and each is undefeated in conference play, Oakland is 5-0 and Cleveland 6-0. Four of the five Grizz wins are by 15+ so Oakland has been taking care of its business. Cleveland State has won eight straight D-I games, their lost loss was 98-93 at Oklahoma State. The Vikes are a bit counterfeit however having played the No.320 ranked schedule in D-I. Oakland is supremely coached by Greg Kampe who had led the Grizz since 1984 and has 655 wins heading into this game. Cleveland State is a nice story but see their trained derailed tonight. |
01-12-22 | LSU +1 v. Florida | 64-58 | Win | 100 | 10 h 20 m | Show
DMACK'S SEC GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the LSU Tigers LSU is young team that even at 14-1, is going to get better down the road and will be dangerous in March. There lone loss was at then No.14 and now No.4 Auburn that saw LSU get down 11-0 and 18-3 and were never able to recover. Since then, the Tigers have beat ranked Kentucky and Tennessee, both teams far superior to this Florida Gator team that is good but not special. LSU can put the ball in the hoop but can also play defense where they are are second in the country in FG% defense and create turnovers 26% of the time. Wrong favorite here but I can see the reasoning as Gainesville is a tough venue. LSU gets important road win here as the next step in its progression. LSU 68-60. |
01-11-22 | Texas Tech +12 v. Baylor | 65-62 | Win | 100 | 7 h 30 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOP UNDERDOG OF THE WEEK is the Texas Tech Red Raiders Texas Tech is good team that will get better through the year and be a tough out come March. The Red Raiders are very similar in style to No.1 Baylor and both teams have strong inside games, both shooting 56% from inside the arc. Tech lost both true road games by 4 points and Baylor is 3-0 in the Big 12 but HAS NOT beaten a team by the amount of points the Red Raiders are getting here. See this is as a close game throughout, probably low 60s with Baylor winning by 5-8 late. Take the points and don't be shocked if Tech wins straight up. They can. |
01-11-22 | USC -6 v. Stanford | 69-75 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS MATINEE MONEYMAKER winner is on the USC Trajans Stanford is 8-4 but just 2-4 vs. the Top 100 and having seen them play, are getting abit too much respect here. USC is 13-0 and as highly ranked as they've been in 40 years. This is a very talented team that shoots well from the outside, is an excellent offensive rebounding team, and suprememly coach by Andy Enfield, the guy who had Florida Gold Coast several years ago. If not for the defection of big man Okongwu to the NBA last year, this team would be in the hunt for the National Championship. Lay it. |
01-08-22 | UCLA -8.5 v. California | 60-52 | Loss | -107 | 17 h 50 m | Show
DMack's Late College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the UCLA Bruins Cal is just a phony and would need it's best and more to even hang with UCLA. The Bruins have been perfect since getting embarrassed by Gonzaga with eight of their nine wins by 11+ points. The Bears averaged just 59 points in their six losses and that has to be concerning to Cal backers who think the Bears can stay within this number. They won't ... UCLA by 20. |
01-08-22 | Iowa State +6.5 v. Oklahoma | 66-79 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 52 m | Show
DMack's Late College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Iowa State Cyclones These are two very good Big 12 teams with little separation but the points are just to much to pass up here. Both teams are similar and well coached. Was really impressed with Iowa State team that head it's foot on the neck of Baylor last weekend but let it get away. Right back with a wire-to-wire win over Texas Tech where the Cyclones hit every key shot and made their free throws under the gun. Just don't see the points not coming to play. |

01-08-22 | Stetson v. North Florida -1 | 68-66 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 53 m | Show
DMack's Late College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the North Florida Ospreys The Mack Attack is keying on a couple of smaller conferences and has always had success in the Atlantic Sun, even cashing a couple of games earlier in the week. The Ospreys are 4-0 at home in Jacksonville and 0-10 away from home and even had games against Florida State and Kansas State canceled. Stetson will have its moments during the season but not many and none on the road. Take North Florida. |
01-08-22 | Merrimack -4.5 v. Central Connecticut State | 66-57 | Win | 100 | 10 h 41 m | Show
DMack's Early College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Merrimack Warriors Neither team is very good but Merrimack is double-digits better than Cent Conn. The CCSU Blue Devils are 4-11 but No.330 in offense and No.306 on defense. The Warriors are not much putting the ball in the hoop but really get at it on the defensive on. Thinking Merrimack has success against a soft CCSU defense and then does it's thing on their own end. Merrimack opened with two conference wins against better and wins here .... call is 63-50. |
01-08-22 | Arkansas +1 v. Texas A&M | 81-86 | Loss | -112 | 10 h 38 m | Show
DMack's Early College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Arkansas Razorbacks Texas A&M is a bit counterfeit in my opinion as the Aggies are 12-2 but have played the No.323 toughest schedule. Arkansas is 1-4 L5 off a 9-0 start but has an excellent coach in Eric Musselman who will have this team whipped into shape by February and the money ball days of June. Ark rebounds well off the off and def glass and is the more talented team. Razors straight up. |
01-08-22 | Connecticut v. Seton Hall -3.5 | 87-90 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 40 m | Show
DMack's Early College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Seton Hall Pirates Great game as No.23 meets No.27 on Ken Palm. UConn has only played two true road games (1-1) and hasn't played in 18 days. Tough ask here against a very good Pirate outfit. Seton Hall is 10-3 with the three losses ALL to Top 20 teams and by hust 3-5-6 points. The Hall is No.25 in experience and No.16 in FG % defense, shoot 45% inside the arc, and have played the No.21 toughest schedule. Seton Hall gets the call. |
01-07-22 | Cleveland State -8 v. Robert Morris | 78-77 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY COLLEGE HOOPS BANKROLL BUILDER winner is on the Cleveland State Vikings It's as hard to say as getting up a hairball but the Cleveland State Vikings are pretty good. Since losing openers on the road at BYU and Ohio, the Vikes are 8-1 with their lone loss 98-95 in OT at Oklahoma State. Cleveland State is a veteran bunch and started the season as the No.2 team in Division I in game starts experience. Robert Morris is 2-11 (0-4 in Conf) with one of the wins against Lancaster Bible. Rob Mo conference losses are by an average og 10+ points and their opponents are shooting a tick under 40% from downtown. There's a new sheriff in the Horizon Conference and its name is Cleveland State. |
01-06-22 | Louisiana Tech -3 v. UTEP | 64-52 | Win | 100 | 20 h 33 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS LATE SHOW BAIL OUT winner is on the La Tech Bulldogs UTEP is 7-6 strangely enough despite not shooting a lick (No.319 and not playing a lick of defense (No.290). The Miners have played two teams in the Top 100 and lost by 26 and 13 points ... enough said. La Tech is 11-3 and 2-0 in conference, shooting 55.3% inside the arc (No.28) and will only improve with experience. The Bulldogs have won six of the last eight in the series and are a perfect 6-0 vs. teams outside the Top 109, UTEP currently checks in at No.178. Three points is very manageable and we'll call this one 75-63 Tech. |
01-06-22 | NJIT v. UMass Lowell -6.5 | 77-72 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 15 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS COLLEGE HOOPS MATINEE MONEYMAKER winner is UMass Lowell NJIT is very ordinary as they venture into the America East for the first year. The Highlanders rank No.294 on Ken Palm and face a better UMass Lowell outfit that is No.238 on Ken Palm has played much better early on and even owns a win at Dayton. The River Hawks haven't had much chance at Costello Arena where they've smashed a bunch of tomato cans but figure to play big here in their first conference game of the season. UMass Lowell 76-63. |
01-05-22 | Texas Tech +2.5 v. Iowa State | 47-51 | Loss | -104 | 20 h 0 m | Show
DMACK's COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Texas Tech Red Raiders Two pretty good teams square off here in this Big 12 showdown between No.25 vs. No.11. Texas Tech's losses came early at Providence and then to Gonzaga over Christmas. Iowa State lost it's most recent at home to No.1 Baylor 77-72. Not much separates these two but having seen both teams several times the eye test tells me Tech is the better team. The Raiders are slick and come off as very professional and well coached. They have a win over Tennessee so this team can play. Iowa State is off to a great start that is probably more overachieving and the Cyclones figure to come back to the field in a very good and ultra-competitive Big 12. This will be close but will take Texas Tech to figure it out in the end. |
01-05-22 | Syracuse +2.5 v. Miami-FL | 87-88 | Win | 100 | 19 h 17 m | Show
DMACK's COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Syracuse Orange Miami is in first in the ACC at 11-3, 3-0 but have been the beneficiaries of a soft early schedule and three and now four home games to start conference play. Syracuse is 7-6 but against a very ambitious schedule and are already as battle tested as they'll ever be. The Cuse depends on the Boeheim Bros. dealing on the point and shooting the ball from downtown. Decent shooting nights, defensive rebounding, and no turnover has Syracuse in just about every game. |
01-05-22 | Alabama +2 v. Florida | 83-70 | Win | 100 | 18 h 18 m | Show
DMACK's COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Alabama Crimson Tide The 9-3 Gators are somewhat counterfeit. Their two road losses to less than they see here make sense but the double-digit home loss to 2-8 Texas Southern is the tell. The No.14th ranked Tide is loaded and and has played well except for a couple of vapor locks. The Tide has arguably the some of the best guard play in the country led by Jayden Shackleford and their top three scorers are also the top three rebounders, all with better than five boards per game. Wrong team favored here ...... Bama by 10! |
01-04-22 | Liberty -6.5 v. Stetson | 75-59 | Win | 100 | 13 h 19 m | Show
DMACK'S ATLANTIC SUN GAME OF THE MONTH WINNER is on the Liberty Flames Much like their football program, Liberty is a team that can compete at a high level and do. The Flames four losses are on the road or neutral floor games to the likes of LSU and in the last 10 days, by five points to Stanford and BYU. Love the Hatters who have a long hoops tradition but are just not at the same level as their guests from a talent standpoint. Last year was Liberty's first year in the Atlantic Sun and they went 3-0 against the Hatters winning by 14 and 10 in the regular season and then 77-64 in the A-Sun semis. Same result here. |
01-02-22 | Marist v. Iona -9 | 66-69 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 28 m | Show
DMACK'S SUN COLLEGE HOOPS SLAM DUNK winner is on the Iona Gaels Neither team has played in 10 days but that's where all similarities stop as the Gaels are coached by Rick Pitino who didn't take long to return this program to it's prior luster. Iona owns a win over No.10 Alabama and the 10-2 Gaels only losses have come against OVC heavyweight Belmont and against the Kansas Jayhawks. Iona has won four straight and cruised in their first two conference games beating these Foxes 78-71 in their own building last month. Six of seven of Iona's home wins are by double-digits and that shouldn't be an issue here. Iona 82-66. |
12-31-21 | Fairleigh Dickinson v. St Francis PA -9.5 | 70-62 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 17 m | Show
DMACK'S GODBYE TO 21 NOTHING BUT NET KILL SHOT winner is on St. Francis PA Red Flashes It's tough to explain how really bad 0-10 FDU really is. The Knights are No.346 in scoring offense out of 356 Div-I one team and dead last in the country in scoring defense. St Frank's of PA is 4-8 and nothing special but the Red Flashes can put the ball in the hoop and are seven points per game better on defense against a schedule that is basically the same in degree of difficulty. St Francis was in the game the whole way against Northeast Conference kingpin Wagner and believe the Flash will open op a can of whup ass on FDU today. |
12-30-21 | South Dakota State -3 v. North Dakota State | 90-86 | Win | 100 | 16 h 38 m | Show
DMACK'S SUMMIT CONF BATTLE OF THR DAKOTAS winner is the South Dakota State Jackrabbits This is a showdown between the two heavyweights in the Summit and tonight we side with South Dakota State. This is your prototypical Jackrabbit outfit of recent years that features superior guard play and big wings that can shoot the lights out. Sometimes its win with the three and lose by the three and the Jacks have had poor shooting nights but they've been far and few between. In fact, SDSU shoots 44% from behind the arc as a collective but also play outstanding perimeter defense that hold opponents to 34.4% from downtown. The Bison are more deliberate in approach and will be up against it if the Jacks come out early early in the game. South Dakota State 73-65. |
12-29-21 | LSU +4.5 v. Auburn | 55-70 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 14 m | Show
DMACK'S SEC NCAAB GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the LSU Tigers 12-0 LSU at 11-1 Auburn in what figure to be a good one. Two VERY good team bang heads in a key conference matchup that could have implications down the line. Both teams are very young and both play an even pace. The difference is LSU's excellent defense. The Tigers haven't allowed more than 63 points this year and own the No.1 FG% defense in the country. The Tigers has lost three straight trips to "The Plains" and will be anxious to get that monkey off their back. They can and will. LSU straight up. |
12-22-21 | Hofstra v. Monmouth -5 | 77-71 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 55 m | Show
DMACK'S NCAAB MID-MAJOR GAME OF THE MONTH winner is the Monmouth Hawks Hofstra is getting lost of love after its upset over Arkansas but the Pride have proven that they don't play well on the road and and as a team are net very deep, in fact, they're No.333 out of 352 teams in bench minutes. Monmouth has been a decent program for over a decade and this looks like one of the better editions that figures to battle Iona for MAAC supremacy. The Hawks are 10-1 L11 and their two losses are by a combined seven points. Hofstra was outscored by Stony Brook by 20 in the second half two games back and will be up against it here. Monmouth 75-58. |
12-20-21 | Stetson v. Miami-FL -14.5 | 72-82 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 13 m | Show
DMack's Tues College Hoops Slam Dunk winner is on Miami Florida Stetson snapped a three-game double-digit losing streak with a win over the College of Charleston Cougars and now heads to South Beach to face a decent 8-3 Miami team. The Hurricanes have won four strait after getting hammered at then ranked No.10 Alabama and has made a habit in recent years of taking care of their business against the teams they should beat which exactly the case here. Miami Fla 78-55. |
12-17-21 | St Bonaventure +2.5 v. Virginia Tech | 49-86 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 56 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS MATINEE SLAM DUNK winner is on St Bonnies This version of the Bonnies is as good as there's been in recent memory. The Bonnies are 8-2 with losses to Northern Iowa and UConn , no shame there. They have good guard play and and play tough defense. The Hokies are 7-4 but the losses are somewhat disturbing as that they all have come against the only teams that they've played that have pulses including a 20-point home loss to Wake. St Bonnie will have to bring its best but their best is double-digits better than the Hokies. |
12-15-21 | Nebraska-Omaha v. UNLV -18.5 | 71-84 | Loss | -109 | 20 h 57 m | Show
DMack College Hoops Power Pack winner is on the UNLV Rebels Nebraska-Omaha is another dandy at 1-9, No.334 on offense and No.346 on defense. UNLV is 6-5 playing a rugged schedule under new legacy coach Kevin Kruger who has instilled hope for a UNLV men's program for the first time in a long time. Don't get me wrong, Rebs are nothing special but play hard and have been competitive against the monsters. UNLV 91-57. |
12-15-21 | Middle Tennessee +11.5 v. Ole Miss | 52-62 | Win | 100 | 17 h 10 m | Show
DMack College Hoops Power Pack winner is on the MTSU Blue Raiders Give us the points with Middle Tennessee who can really fill it up. In fact, the Blue Raiders are averaging 80 ppg. and their losses have come on the road at Steven F Austin and at Murray State where the Racers just shot the lights out. Ole Miss is a bottom half SEC team that was spanked 71-54 on this floor by a decent Western Kentucky team. Ole Miss also lost to an OK Boise 60-50 on this floor. With these kind of points and a team that can score like MTSU, any loss in single digits will work and likely will. |
12-15-21 | Fairfield -9 v. Fairleigh Dickinson | 72-54 | Win | 100 | 17 h 3 m | Show
DMack College Hoops Power Pack winner is on the Fairfield Stags FDU is an 0-8 train wreck that is No.336 in Division I on offense and dead last at No.352 in defense. Fairfield has been a pedestrian MAAC team for as long as I can remember but the Stags are off to a 7-3 start, 4-2 on the road. More important to me is their eye-catching No.114 number at Ken Palm which means they've played some people as well. Fairfield by 15-18. |
12-14-21 | Central Connecticut State v. Stony Brook -15 | 67-87 | Win | 100 | 7 h 21 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY COLLEGE HOOPS SLAM DUNK winner is on the Stony Brook Seawolves. Plain and simple, Central Connecticut is one of the weakest teams in Division I. The Blue Devils are No.342 out of 352 board teams in average points scored and No.312 on defense in points allowed. Through 10 games, CCSU is 147 points in the red. Stoney Brook is 4-1 L5 and 4-1 at home this year. We made the mistake of playing against the Wolves last week using Hofstra. We won't make that mistake again and fully expect Stony Brook to win this by 20+. |
12-13-21 | Cleveland State v. Oklahoma State -12 | 93-98 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S MON COLLEGE HOOPS SUPER PLAY winner is on the Oklahoma State Cowboys Cleveland State has resurrected it's dead program the last two years and is definitely on the improve. The thing about it though is the 6-2 Vikings have taken Bill Snyder route by scheduling "killers" like Edinboro and PSU-Behrend. Their losses are to BYU by 10 and at home to Ohio by 11. The 6-3 Oklahoma State Cowboys have lost two straight (at Wichita State, at Xavier) but are in a nice spot to get healthy here against a Horizon team that might be getting a bit too much respect. Oklahoma State 80-61 |
12-12-21 | Villanova v. Baylor -3.5 | 36-57 | Win | 100 | 8 h 19 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY COLLEGE HOOPS SLAM DUNK winner is on the Baylor Bears Two big things in this No.2 vs. No.6 matchup, home court and Baylor depth. Villanova is actually seven deep and even their first two players off the pine don't really get any significant minutes, it's all about their starters. Baylor is the defending champ and lined up for No.1 off Purdue's loss. The Bears are very good, very well coached, are playing at home, and have a habit of taking care of business. Baylor wins by 10. |
12-11-21 | New Orleans v. Utah State -19.5 | 50-82 | Win | 100 | 18 h 12 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS NOTHING BUT NET winner is on the Utah State Aggies New Orleans is 3-6 and off a 20 point loss to Texas A&M and a 13 point loss to ULL. The Privateers haven't played in eight days and travel to one of the toughest venues in college basketball. The Aggies are 6-3 but the losses are to St Mary's and BYU while owning wins over Oklahoma, New Mexico State, and Richmond. This is the perfect spot for Utah State to get ready for games against Weber State and Iowa before starting their Mountain West schedule. Utah State 88-53. |
12-09-21 | Monmouth v. St. John's -9 | 83-88 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 32 m | Show
MACK ATTACK COLLEGE BASKETBALL PLAY OF THE DAY is on the St John Red Storm Nothing negative to say about Monmouth which has won seven straight since an opening two-point loss to Charlotte but the Hawks have really played nobody. The 6-2 Johnnies on the other hand have lost to Indiana (76-74) and have had one bad game at Kansas. No shame there. St John's can really fill it up on the offensive end and play pretty good defense as the Big East goes as well. Red Storm depth is the difference here, St John's 88-73. |
12-08-21 | Hofstra -3.5 v. Stony Brook | 62-79 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 51 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS MID-MAJOR MAGIC winner is on the Hofstra Pride Stony Brook is a middle of the pack America East team but the Seawolves 25 point home loss to a recently Covid ravaged Wagner outfit pretty much tells the story. Hofstra is 5-4 but their losses have come in OT to a ranked Houston Cougar outfit, Richmond, Iona, and a two-point loss to Maryland. The Flying Dutchmen have handled their own kind somewhat handily and despite being on the road, figure to be at least 10 points better than Stony Brook. |
12-07-21 | Fairleigh Dickinson v. La Salle -10 | 55-81 | Win | 100 | 19 h 34 m | Show
DMACK'S NCAAB PLAY OF THE DAY FOR TUESDAY is on the La Salle Explorers Not really sure where this line cam from but on face it looks quite a bit short. Neither team is anything special but 0-7 FDU is just outright awful with losses by 44 to Seton Hall, 36 to Northwestern and possibly their best effort of the year was a 12 point loss at St Johns. Las Salle has their two Big Five losses to Villanova and Temple but have dispatched this type with relative ease. Lets call this La Salle 74 FDU 56. |
12-02-21 | Lipscomb +13.5 v. Belmont | 65-94 | Loss | -113 | 10 h 7 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL DOG BITE OF THE WEEK winner is the Lipscomb Bison This looks like a ridiculous amount of points to give the Lipscomb Bisons who are the best shooting three point team in the country. They live and die by the three but already own a 20 point win at Dayton, a team that has already won at Belmont and Kansas this year. Both teams are what they are .... 20 win mid-majors out the Atlantic Sun and Ohio Valley. Just can't imagine this game falling double-digits in any scenario. |
12-01-21 | Michigan -1.5 v. North Carolina | 51-72 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 14 m | Show
DMACK'S ACC/BIG TEN CHALLENGE SUPER PLAY winner is on the Michigan Wolverines North Carolina has not been a top a program in several years now and it's still a work in progress now and for the immediate future. The 4-2 Heels have played two legit opponents and got smoked by Purdue and Tennessee. You could say almost the same for Michigan but the Wolverines are supremely talented and likely just off to a slow start. Michigan has a pretty good run of upcoming opponents including San Diego State, Minnesota, and Central Florida and would be well served to get off to a good start here. The line move reflects the better team and we're still basically asking the Wolverines to win. |
11-30-21 | Northwestern v. Wake Forest | 73-77 | Win | 100 | 12 h 35 m | Show
DMACK's ACC/BIG TEN CHALLENGE SUPER PLAY (LATE) is on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Both team have similar M.O.s, a bunch of tune up wins against tomato cans and one loss in their only game versus an opponent with a pulse. That said, prefer the home team here in a pick'em affair. The Deacs are off their first loss of the year vs. a pretty good LSU team and have had three days to stew and pull themselves together. Northwestern will be much improved from last year but they've really just gone on the road once and got beat by seven at Providence. This is a nice spot for Wake and Steve Forbes to start a Wake resurgence in the ACC. |
11-30-21 | Minnesota -2 v. Pittsburgh | 54-53 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 32 m | Show
DMACK's ACC/BIG TEN CHALLENGE SUPER PLAY (EARLY)) winner is on the Minnesota Golden Gophers It's going to be a long long year for Pitt who is arguably the worst team in the Power Five conferences. The Panthers are in a complete rebuild and just don't have much talent. They have even less scoring currently ranking No.325 of 354 Div I teams. Minnesota is 5-0 as it starts life without Richard Pitino. Ben Johnson is a young energy guy that has hit team playing hard and playing very good defense. Wouldn't be shocked to see this in the 72-55 range for the Golden Gophers. |
11-28-21 | Stanford v. Colorado -5.5 | 76-80 | Loss | -106 | 16 h 4 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Colorado Buffalos The Buffs are not bad and will be tough to beat in their Pac 12 home games. 5-1 Colorado's only loss was too a decent Southern Illinois team, and the Buffs have wins over New Mexico, Brown, and Duquense, and are looking for more here. Stanford's basketball team is showing all the heart of Stanford fiootball which is scary in itself. The Tree has played two games versus teams with pulses and they lost by 18 to Santa Clara and 38 to Baylor. Colorado rolls. |
11-28-21 | Brown +1.5 v. Quinnipiac | 72-61 | Win | 100 | 13 h 2 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Brown Bears The Ivy League didn't play last but have returned as a whole as a real player in mid-major hoops, especially ATS. Quinnipiac is 3-2 but the standout game on their resume at this point came in their last game, a 16-point loss to New Hampshire. Brown is 4-4 but has played everyone tough including a win at Bradley and a two-point loss to Colorado. The Bears are part of an overachieving Ivy League and are still flying under the radar. Grab them getting points in a game they should be favored in by six. |
11-28-21 | Fordham -8 v. Central Connecticut State | 89-83 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 51 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Fordham Rams Central Connecticut is 1-5 that includes a 24-poing loss to UMass-Lowell. Fordham is as Jeckyl and Hyde as they come, losing to Maryland Eastern Shore in OT and crushing a pretty good Akron team by 20 and then rolling to a double-digit win over Rice. It's going to be a long year for CCS and it will be on full display here in a 16-20 point loss this mediocre Fordham outfit. |
11-27-21 | Marshall v. Indiana -10.5 | 79-90 | Win | 100 | 8 h 6 m | Show
DMack's NCAAB PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Indiana Hoosiers Indiana is 5-0 with a win over St Johns and Marshall is 4-1 with a loss to Campbell which tells you where these two teams are. The Hoosiers aren't as loaded as they've been in recent editions but they're still plenty talented and new HC Mike Woodson is the perfect person to hold things together and teach. The teams have two common opponents in this round robin tournament that the Hoosiers have handled with much more authority. No problem laying double-digits with Indiana here. |
11-25-21 | San Francisco -11 v. Towson | 71-61 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 15 m | Show
DMACK'S THURSDAY COLLEGE HOOPS PLAY OF THE DAY is on the San Francisco Dons The 6-0 Dons are very good. They smashed four tomato cans and have nice wins against Nevada and Davidson. Towson hasn't don anything wrong and at 3-2, has a similar to San Francisco but instead of beating their two opponents with a pulse, they lost to Monmouth and a bad Pitt team. San Francisco is big, physical, athletic, and deep and has shown no compunction to go easy on teams that can't compete. San Fran 83-59. |
11-24-21 | Baylor -12 v. Arizona State | 75-63 | Push | 0 | 10 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NCAAB PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Baylor Bears Baylor has opened their defense of last year's national championship is fine fashion. The Bears are 4-0 with wins of 45-38-28-29-27, the 45 point win against Stanford. Baylor is athletic, talented, and play great defense ... just like last year's championship outfit. Arizona State is 2-2 but three points short of being unbeaten. The Sun Devils lost to UC Riverside on a 65-foot shot at the buzzer and a two-point loss in overtime to a very good San Diego State. At face, the number looks a bit high but the reality is that Arizona State is a middle of the road Pac12 team that might hang around for a half but in the end, are overwhelmed the this better and deeper Baylor team. |
11-23-21 | Gonzaga -5.5 v. UCLA | 83-63 | Win | 100 | 12 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S GONZAGA/UCLA ONE vs. TWO SUPER PLAY winner is on Gonzaga The Zags are 5-0 and have smoked four tomato cans and beat No.4 Texas by 12 in their only game versus a team with a pulse. This is a rematch of the 93-90 Gonzaga win in OT in last years Final Four semifinal. UCLA is 4-0 and hasn't been threatened owning an OT win over Villanova. The Zags have had an M.O of crushing non-conference opponents early then getting stale after rolling through their conference play and finding way to lose in the Big Dance. Think Temme will have a big night here and the bigger Zags control the boards in a 15 point win. |
11-22-21 | Akron -9.5 v. Fordham | 43-63 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 14 m | Show
DMack's College Basketball First Blood is on the Akron Zips The Zips are a pretty coop team that should be unbeaten. They lost to Ohio State 67-66 in a game they led by four with six second left they blew out two small school tomato cans by 56 and 61 points. The perpetually rebuilding Fordham Rams are 2-2 with losses to Manhattan and in two OT's to Maryland-Eastern Shore neither of which is Gonzaga or UCLA. Akron was a preseason co-favorite to win the MAC and will have a lot to say in the winner. They are athletic, experienced, and can shoot. Zips by 20. |
03-11-20 | North Carolina -3 v. Syracuse | 53-81 | Loss | -104 | 10 h 42 m | Show
DMack's NCAAB Play of the Day is on the North Carolina Tar Heels After an abysmal 3-13 start in the ACC, the Tar Heels have made a late surge winning 4 of their L5 games. UNC has beaten the Orange 8 straight time including a 92-79 decision at the Carrier Dome on February 29th. This has been an off year for both of these iconic programs but even in the best of times, Syracuse is just 3-5 L8 in this tourney while UNC has excelled going 12-4 L16. Tar Heels at least looking to finish strong, win by 10 points here. |

03-10-20 | Marist v. Niagara | 54-56 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 29 m | Show
DMack's NCAAB Play of the Day is on Marist Neither of these teams are very good and while it is true that Marist has lost 7 of 8, we're not going play against the Foxes getting points against a team they beat by 19 and 22 during the year. Marist does not shoot the ball well but … Niagara is the WORST (No.352) rebounding team in the country. Marist is 5-2 SU and ATS L7 in the series and sometimes you just need to hold your nose when the card is dicey like it is tonight. |

03-09-20 | St. Mary's v. BYU -3.5 | 51-50 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 30 m | Show

03-09-20 | Oral Roberts v. North Dakota State -1 | 69-75 | Win | 100 | 5 h 43 m | Show

03-09-20 | Delaware v. Hofstra -3 | 61-75 | Win | 100 | 4 h 44 m | Show

03-08-20 | Northeastern -2 v. Towson | 72-62 | Win | 100 | 8 h 17 m | Show
DMack Power Pack winner on the Northeastern Huskies Towson is an impressive 13-3 in their L16 but might be a year away and face a Northeastern team that has had a lot of success in this event. In fact, while Towson is just 2-7 in their L9 here, N'Eastern is 9-3 and won this tournament in 2015 and last year. The Huskies beat Towson by in the road game and lost to the Tigers by three in a game where Northeastern shot 67% inside the arc. Small points ... better team .... Northeastern by 10. |
03-08-20 | Western Carolina v. East Tennessee State -7.5 | 75-97 | Win | 100 | 4 h 40 m | Show
DMack's Free Play for Sunday, March 8, 2020 is on the East Tennessee State Buccaneers Western Carolina has played a near perfect tournament to this point. They beat Mercer last night, down four at the half, and played four of their starters more than 30 minutes. East Tennessee won both games vs. the Catamounts and have won nine straight in the series. The Buccs have won 10 straight overall and started the year No.37 in experience and are No.24 in the country in creating turnovers. The Buccs are all-in with this bunch and take care of business here. |
03-08-20 | Valparaiso v. Bradley -3 | Top | 66-80 | Win | 100 | 2 h 59 m | Show |
DMack's NCAAB Play of the Day is on the Bradley Braves The teams split their MVC games this year and have in fact split the last six games in the series. Valpo was the No.7 seed that has played Cinderella winning three games in three nights by a combined 11 points. Bradley is a veteran bunch that won this tourney last year and is No.43 in the country in defensive efficiency. Looking for Bradley to bring the hammer down here and win this game comfortably ... wire-to-wire. |
03-07-20 | Cornell v. Princeton -11.5 | 85-82 | Loss | -109 | 8 h 8 m | Show
DMack NCAAB Power Pack winner is on the Princeton Tigers Princeton rolled Columbia yesterday 81-58 as our free play and catches another patsy here. The 6-20 Big Red were mauled at Penn last night and will call it a year when tonight's festivities are over. This is not a vintage Princeton squad but one showing "buy signs" and might just find its way into a minor post-season tournament with another blowout here. |

03-07-20 | UCLA +4 v. USC | 52-54 | Win | 100 | 6 h 34 m | Show
DMack's NCAAB Play of the Day is on the UCLA Bruins The Bruins have won seven straight and are 11-2 in their L13. This is a completely different team with Mack who has them extremely physical and even a little mean. USC is tough in its own right and won at UCLA early on before the Bruins turned the corner. This will be a tough, hard fought rock fight, with UCLA winning straight up. |
03-07-20 | Kansas -2.5 v. Texas Tech | 66-62 | Win | 100 | 4 h 5 m | Show
DMack NCAAB Power Pack winner is on the Kansas Jayhawks The Jayhawks have been skating while battling minor injuries to their big men. Kansas simply finds ways to win and face a Red Raider outfit that has lost three straight at a bad time. Kansas is 19-2 L21 in the series but lost here last year this game will get their full attention. |
03-07-20 | Virginia Tech +7.5 v. Notre Dame | 56-64 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 4 m | Show
DMack NCAAB Power Pack winner is on the Virginia Tech Hokies Notre Dame had its heart ripped from its chest in a home buzzer beater loss to Florida State in their last. The game prior was a straight up loss to Wake. Virginia Tech spanked Clemson in their last game after three straight losses which just happened to be at Duke, Virginia, and at Louisville. Grab the points. |
03-07-20 | Baylor +1 v. West Virginia | 64-76 | Loss | -103 | 3 h 7 m | Show
DMack NCAAB Power Pack winner is on the Baylor Bears Baylor has split four games after 24-1 start. The Bears have won the last three series games by 12-7-11 and easily handled the Mounties at home (70-59) earlier in the year. West Virginia has lost 6 of 8 overall and 2 of 3 at home for one reason … they can't shoot their way out of a paper bag. Wrong favorite. |
03-06-20 | Austin Peay v. Murray State -1 | 61-73 | Win | 100 | 11 h 8 m | Show
DMack Power Pack winner on the Murray State Racers The teams split during the year, each winning on their respective home courts. This is a quick turnaround game as Murray won the rematch by 14 on Saturday. Last night, Peay rolled to an 11-point win over an Eastern Illinois outfit that ran very late the night before. Murray won this tournament the last two years but are not rocking JA Morant here. Still, the Racers have the talent and pedigree to take out the Guvs in a game that are basically just being asked to win. |
03-06-20 | Eastern Kentucky v. Belmont -12.5 | 50-60 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 39 m | Show
DMack Power Pack winner on the Belmont Bruins Belmont has a big program pedigree and is peaking at the right time. The Bruins are 15-3 in the OVC and has won 10 straight. They throttle Eastern Kentucky twice during the year winning by 31 and 13 points during season and have won 9 straight in the series. Belmont roles here. |
03-06-20 | Richmond -1 v. Duquesne | 73-62 | Win | 100 | 9 h 38 m | Show
DMack's NCAAB Play of the Day is on the Richmond Spiders Analysis to follow |
03-06-20 | Wake Forest +8 v. NC State | 64-84 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 44 m | Show
DMack Power Pack winner on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Too many points for the hard trying Deacs. North Carolina State can forget the Big Dance with two losses to North Carolina and a bad loss to Boston College. The Wolf Pack won by 9 in the first meeting back in early January but Wake has found it's offense averaging 89.8 ppg. in last four and face a team that is just 2-3 in it's L5 home games. Grab the points. |
03-06-20 | Columbia v. Princeton -11 | 58-81 | Win | 100 | 7 h 28 m | Show
DMack Power Pack winner on the Princeton Tigers It's always tough laying double-digits with a basically .500 team but this might be the case. Columbia is 1-11 in a down year for the Ivy and was never in an 8-point home loss to Princeton the first time around. Princeton has two very winnable home games to close the season. Two impressive wins could have the Tigers in one of the minor tournaments if so inclined. |
03-06-20 | Kent State v. Akron -5.5 | 76-79 | Loss | -107 | 7 h 60 m | Show
DMack Power Pack winner on the Akron Zips The Zips stormed back from a big half-time deficit to win and nearly cover against Ohio in their last. This is a same season revenge game with the Zips at home as Kent won 67-66 on their home floor back in January. Akron makes amends here. |
