They haven't really beaten anyone of note and have played a weak schedule but this team looks to be very professional and well coached. The Dukes get good shots are shoot 59% from inside the arc, No.4 in the country. UAB is 6-4 against a much weaker schedule (No.324) than the team they face here. The Blazer are 0-3 versus the Top 100 with all three loses by 8+ points. Both teams had soft touches last night and like the proven commodity at a very fair number.

The Red Storm's new coach has Arkansas roots and plays the 60 minutes of hell defense but that is not likely to be effective here as the Wildcats have excellent guard play. Arizona is 10-2 but has lost 2 of 3 but those were to Gonzaga and Baylor, both top 15 teams. The Cats have been knocking down better than 38% of their treys so if they knock down some shots early, the Johnny pressure will loosen right up. Arizona 85-68.

SDS has played two teams inside the RPI top 100 and lost both including 18-point loss at USC. The Hoosiers have not been shy about blowing people out but that's been against the No.350 (4th weakest) in the country. Indy is VERY young starting three juniors and two frosh. The force the pace and have scored about 26% from the foul line. The bench is No.43 in minutes and are not hesitated to be used. This one could be somewhat close in the first half with the Hoosiers comfortably extending in the second half. Indiana 82-57.

DMack's NCAAB Play of the Day is on the Hofstra Flying Dutchmen Yeah, yeah, … I know they're the "Pride" … just can't seem to call them that though … my "old school" coming through. Really did a double take at this line. Hofstra is the No.8 team experience team in the country and starts three seniors and two juniors. They've already beaten UCLA and Fullerton on this West Coast swing and face a Torrero outfit that is 2-5 vs. the No.75th ranked schedule and has lost three straight by 17+. This will be my strongest personal position of the night.

DMack's NCAAB Play of the Day is on the Belmont Bruins Belmont has been one of the best and most overlooked "good" mid-majors for years but we won't pass the Bruins here. Belmont is 4-2 and plays it's fifth true road game which is how this team gets toughened up when it drops in class during conference play. They're a work in progress now but even in this rebuild, are much better in most every aspect than the respected Eastern Washington Eagles who start two frosh and a soph and depend on the three for 44% of their points while shooting less than 33% from behind the arc. Really like Belmont to win comfortably here by double-digits.

Not good against a relentless Mountie team that is also a killer on the offensive glass. In short … West Virginia wears this team down and extends late.

New Mexico is No.7 in experience but depends on getting better than 25% of their points from the foul line which will be tough to do against the superiorly athletic and well coached Tigers. Baylor is 4-1 but their loss came to a very pedestrian Washington team in Alaska, the Bears only top 100 opponent to this point. Neither team plays a senior, both teams are very well coached, Villanova is looks to be much further along in the process. Nova 77-68.

Bob Huggins took his lumps last year with a young team but that bunch all returned along with the addition of one of the premier freshman big men in the country to anchor the defense. The Mounties are 3-0 and haven't played any stiffs in defeated Akron, Pitt, and Northern Colorado. In the end, the Terriers just don't have the guns to turn back a West Virginia team that has looked hungry and interested early on.

Towson can really play and if you've been with us, you know we played them in their last, a 66-60 (+18) loss at Florida in a game they led at half. That would make the numbers 10-0 and (8-1-1/7-1-2) ATS over the last 10 games. South Florida blew an 11-point lead in Game One and held on but face a DePaul outfit here that is very tough at home, winning five straight and were a handful in Big East competition. DMack's Wichita/Lipscomb NIT Super Play is in the Wichita State Shockers Lipscomb has to be fird up about playing in New York in front of a national television audience. The Bison are no jokes owning wins over TCU and NC State. They also lost at Louisville by just four so this team can play. Wichita State flipped the switch after 8-11 start to salvage what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. The Shockers are 14-3 down the stretch and all their wins to get here were true road games. Witchy is also ride a hot player in senior McDuffie who will be best on the floor and that means something in a pick 'em. Wichita State 78-70.

DMack's Great Eight Game of the Year is on the Kentucky Wildcats Auburn lost both games to Kentucky during the year, strangely enough, by two in Lexington and by 27 on their home floor. The Tigers have won 11 straight since and roared through the SEC tournament and to this point of the Big Dance. Auburn will be without Okeke with the torn ACL which hurts as the matchup is not good to begin with. UK has been at less than 100% but is grinding people down late. Kentucky is 19-2 L21 in the series and won twice this year with a basically all freshman lineup. Matchup screams Kentucky.

DMack's Sweet 16 Game of the Year is on the North Carolina Tar Heels Auburn has not had much success against the ACC this year losing to Duke by 6 and by 7 to North Carolina State. The Tigers are experienced and shooting the ball well but face a more physical and athletic team here. The Heels are 11-1 in their L12 with the one-point loss to Duke on Zion's return the only blemish. UNC is also 11-1 in its L16 sweet 16 games with the only loss to Wisconsin four years ago. Add to the mix that over the L4 years that No.1 seeds are 10-1-1 ATS in this round and we have a pretty strong case for Roy Williams bunch. Lay it.

DMack's Thursday Sweet 16 Play of the Day is on the Michigan Wolverines Arguably two of the hottest teams in the country in this 2-3 matchup. Both teams are athletic and play great defense but feel that the Wolverines shoot the ball better and will also bank on the mastery of HC John Beilein. The Red Raiders count on turning people over and that just does not happen against Michigan who are No.3 at protecting the ball and No.6 overall in defensive efficiency. Michigan has been here before and moves on.

DMack's Thursday CIT Super Play is on the NJIT Highlanders Despite not having played in 10 days, this is actually a very good spot for homestanding NJIT. Hampton played three starters 35+ minutes to advance on Tuesday and have the element of travel as well. The Pirates have lost 6 of 9 true road games and own ONE D-I win outside the Big South. The Highlanders were 13-3 outside the A-Sun against a moderate schedule and wear you down by getting to the foul line ... A LOT! NJIT by double-digits.

DMack's Monday CBI Super Play is on the West Virginia Mountaineers It wouldn't be much of s stretch to say that the West Virginia Mountaineers are the only 15-20 team still playing in the country. It's been a nightmare season for HOF head coach Bob Huggins but was salvaged somewhat by throwing a couple of malcontents off the team, and abandoning his stifling length of the floor press in favor of a wide open offense that allows his kids to play. Remember that their end of the year resurgence and run in the Big 12 tournament was prompted by four end of the bench freshman that play their guts out and can put the ball in the hoop. Coastal Carolina also has a HOF coach in Cliff Ellis and does some nice things but in the end, does not have the fire power to stay with a fired up Mounties team and crowd.

DMack's Sunday College Hoops Upset Shocker is on the Harvard Crimson For Sunday's Upset Shocker we turn to the NIT and the Harvard Crimson who obviously are in it, to win it. The Ivy's are off nice win at Georgetown after losing to arch-rival Yale in their conference championship game on Sunday. Both team are experienced but still not convinced the Wolf Pack will stay interested after barely getting by Hofstra in lacklustre first round win. Two experienced teams and if Harvard stays away from the turnovers that have plagued them all year, this game could come down to the final possessions with Harvard with a big chance to win straight up.

DMack's Sunday Tournament Perfect Storm is on the North Carolina Tar Heels This is a tale of two teams that don't figure to repeat their performances if their first round games. Washington shot the lights out, took care of the ball, and got a lot of help from the officials to upset Utah State. North Carolina trailed Iona by five at half before blowing the Gaels out in the second half and almost covering by accident. Heels should not be flat here and should be ready to roll start to finish as they move on to the second round. The Heels beat Stanford by 18 and UCLA by 16 this year vs. Pac12 opponents. Further, the Heels are just 3-3 L6 in this round and will be very cognizant of that fact. North Carolina by 20.

DMack's Round of 32 Lock of the Year is on the Gonzaga Zags There are several reasons to take the Zags and fade the Bears. Baylor is the second ranked offensive rebounding team in the nation but that won't matter much against the bigger more physical Zags. The Bears were also 16-34 from the arc against Syracuse which again, they will not repeat as Gonzaga gets out to the perimeter and gets after it. The Zags pummeled Fairleigh Dickenson as expected and don't figure to let up as they are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS in this round the last four years. Lay it.
