DMack's NCAAB Play of the Day is on the Texas Tech Red Raiders The Big 12 has been about as predictable as rain this year and is wide open, top to bottom, with anyone able to win on a given that night. That probably doesn't include West Virginia on the road as the Mounties have lost all four conference games on the road (by a combined 65 points) and eight of ten overall. Texas Tech is great defensively but for whatever reason has struggeled offensively. The Red Raiders won a 62-59 brickfest that saw both teams go 8-37 from downtown . Tech is certainly capable of a big second half run and it could start tonight with a swagger win over Huggies worst Mountie team. Texas Tech 68-50.

The Bears are 0-8, 0-4 at home with all losses by 9+ points. Stanford started the year No.338 in experience and is very young but has shown signs of improvement, winning three of the their last four. This is a rivalry series that has seen The Tree go 7-3 L10 and really has no excuse to not win and cover here.

Mack Attack SEC Game of the Week is on the Kentucky Wildcats This is arguably John Calipari's best coaching job. UK has won seven straight, three of those coming on the road, and forcing turnovers on 23% of opponent possessions. The Cats are young and talented but make no mistake about out it .... this is not a vintage Kentucky team by any means which should play dividends down the road as Coach Cal won't lose many if any of these kids to the NBA. All that said, Florida is a total counterfeit and is just 2-4 as a home dog this year. The Gators have won three of the last four of the series including the last two on this floor by 22 and 13 points. Today is payback for the Cats.

Miami is hang around a half on occasion but that's it. Virginia was awful in their OT win over NC State during the week. Thanks to that performance we get some line value. Cavs have not had problems putting the pedal down in the past. Lets call this 83-51 Virginia.

DMack's Mountain West Game of the Month is on the Air Force Falcons In preparing for this year's college basketball, the general consensus among the talking heads was that that Air Force would be a bottom feeder in a very week Mountain West. The Falcons are good by any means but they are well coached, long, athletic, and play extremely hard as most service academies do. They also have some talent are are especially dangerous at home. San Jose State is the MWC punching bag are horrendous, looking mainly like a decent intramural team. The Spartans have little to no talent and will have to look to next year to be competitive EVEN in a VERY BAD Mountain West.

DMack's Big East Game of the Week is on the Villanova Wildcats This game will be an excellent indicator of exactly where this young 12-4 Wildcat team is. Nova is 3-0 atop the Big East but has not won in overpowering fashion and lets remember that this team lost the Ivy's Penn on the road in non-conference play. The Blue Jays are always tough, supremely coached, but struggling since losing their big man to injury. Creighton struggles on perimeter defense allowing better than 40% from behind the arc. Nova is 7-1 L8 in the series and we're essentially asking them to win here. They will .... call it 78-70.

DMack's NCAAB Play of the Day is on Gonzaga -9.5 Gonzaga beat up Duke early on and then went through a bad run of nagging injuries. Don't write off the Zags in The Dance! Gonzaga has walked through their last two WCC opponents winning by 40+ while allowing just 84 points. San Francisco is 14-2 with its two losses by just six points but .... the Dons have lost 14 straight in the series and haven't seen anything close to what they face here. The Zags have won seven straight on this floor, six by double-digits, and getting healthier by the day. Expect the Zags to restore order in the conference and send a message here.

Looking for the visitors to win this one straight up.

Rutgers hoops sadly reflects the football program in that it improves a baby step at a time. The Knights shooting just 30.2% from beyond the arc and 45% from inside the just 14-18 as a Big Ten home dog of late. Ohio State is quitely 6-0 as a conference road fave under this coach and have won all three visits here by double-digits since the Scarlet Knights entered the Big Ten. The Buckeyes are a rude guest to a host that is 1-5 vs. KP Top 100 with lone win against lowly Miami, Fla.

DMack's AAC Game of the Month is on the Houston Cougars I'm a firm believer in the eye test and I've seen the 15-0 Houston Cougars play and they are VERY VERY good. The Coogs have two true road wins, at BYU and Oklahoma State but this is their first roadie in a month and that is reflective in the line. Temple will be a solid test but the Owls are just 2-3 against the KP Top 100 and with their best win coming vs. Missouri Houston owns the second best FG% against defense in the country and will wear the home team down late and win by double-digits.

Ball State has a tough group of veterans back this year and has won seven of eight playing a much more representative schedule which will help them down the line in the MAC, particularly in games like these. State plays excellent defense and is shooting better than 40% from behind the arc. Miami is is paper thin this year and plays primarily five guys for as long as they can go. The Canes beat up scrubs but are just 1-4 against the top 150 and that will show here. Taking into account that Delaware lost to a similar Hofstra team by 45 during the week, no hesitant to lay double-digits here.

Bobby Hurley also has a young team at Arizona State but while he has featured snipers is his last Sun Devil teams, this year he has solid guard play backed by a Top Ten rebounding front court that plays pretty good defense. Devils lone loss was to a pretty good Nevada team (by 6 points) that just might be unbeaten going into the Big Dance.
