11-27-13 | Toronto Maple Leafs v. Pittsburgh Penguins -191 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 30 h 39 m | Show
This is a 5* "REVENGE BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Toronto Maple Leafs (14-9-2) come off a 0-6 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Leafs had just 18 shots in the loss while James Riemer was ineffective in the loss, stopping just 15 of 21 shots directed his way. The Pittsburgh Penguins (12-9-2) come off a 3-4 OT loss to the Boston Bruins on the road. James Neal scored twice and Sidney Crosby added the other marker. Marc-Andre Fleury made 20 saves and wasn |

11-21-13 | Tampa Bay Lightning v. San Jose Sharks -190 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 29 h 12 m | Show
This is a 5* "BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the San Jose Sharks.
The Tampa Bay Lightning (14-7) looks to bounce back off a 2-5 loss at the LA Kings. Valteri Filpula and Victor Hedman scored goals for Tampa Bay. Ben Bishop made 26 saves on 31 shots. The San Jose Sharks (13-3-5) look to bounce back off its worst loss of the season, a 1-5 beat down at the hands at the Blackhawks on the road. Anti Niemi made 22 saves in a losing effort. It was not surprising the Sharks lost their last game of the road trip to arguably the best team in the Western Conference. I expect the Sharks, who are 8-2-3 at home this season to get a win here. Note the Lightning is just 6-5 on the road this season. Tampa Bay has lost two in a row and it won |

11-19-13 | St. Louis Blues -173 v. Buffalo Sabres | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 26 h 14 m | Show
This is a 5* "BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the St. Louis Blues.
The St. Louis Blues (13-3-3) look to bounce back off a rare home loss to the Washington Capitals 1-4. Validmir Sobotka scored the lone goal for the Blues in the loss. Brian Elliot and Jaroslav Halak combined to make 16 saves on 20 shots. The Buffalo Sabres (5-16-1) come off a 2-4 loss at the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jamie McBain and Tyler Ennis scored goals for the struggling Sabres who got just 18 saves from back-up goalie Jonas Enroth. The Sabres played two very emotional games over the weekend with their number one eastern rival in Toronto and I expect there to be a letdown here as the team faces a very tough St. Louis team. Buffalo is 1-6 after a divisional game and just 2-8 versus a non conference this season to date. Meanwhile St. Louis is 6-2 in non conference games and 2-0 in games after the team lost by two goals or more previously. The Blues will not take this lightly after the loss to the Capitals. Sometimes a favorite is a favorite for a reason and I recommend laying the extra juice to get the win. AAA |

11-16-13 | Chicago Blackhawks -170 v. Nashville Predators | 2-7 | Loss | -170 | 29 h 7 m | Show
This is a 5* "DIVISIONAL DUST-UP" on the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Chicago Blackhawks (13-2-4) continues to roll after a 5-4 SO win at home over the Phoenix Coyotes. Patrick Kane, Nick Leddy and Jonathan Toews each contributed two points a-piece in the win over the a Phoenix team that had beaten them in four previous trips to the Mad House on Madison. Corey Crawford made 26 saves on 30 shots and looked decent for the most part. The Nashville Predators (8-9-2) come off a 4-1 loss at the Pittsburgh Penguins. Gabriel Bourque scored the lone goal for the Predators. Marek Mazanec made 21 saves in the loss. The Predators have struggled to win games without starting net minder Pekka Rhinne. The Preds have lost four in a row and six of eight overall. Don |

11-14-13 | Phoenix Coyotes v. Chicago Blackhawks -180 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 29 h 10 m | Show
This is a 5* "BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Phoenix Coyotes (13-4-2) come off a 3-2 OT win at the St. Louis Blues. Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored the game win goal and added an assist to lead the Coyotes. Mikkel Boedker and David Moss each added goals while Mike Smith was spectacular again making 37 saves on 39 shots to earn the win. The Chicago Blackhawks (12-2-4) come off a 5-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Brandon Saad had a goal and an assist while Brent Seabrook added two assists in the win as five different Blackhawks scored a goal in the game. Corey Crawford made 19 saves in the win. These are two of the best in the west but I like Chicago with the home ice advantage here. The Blackhawks are 7-3-1 on home ice and are looking for revenge against a Coyotes team that has actually taken six straight games at the united center. Phoenix is on the tail end of a road trip and will be hard pressed to win this game. Take Chicago. AAA |

11-12-13 | Philadelphia Flyers v. Ottawa Senators -162 | 5-0 | Loss | -162 | 28 h 15 m | Show
This is a 5* "EAST-COAST EXPRESS" on the Ottawa Senators.
The Philadelphia Flyers (5-10) come off a 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers in what would have been a good game in the early 90 |
|||||||
11-09-13 | Chicago Blackhawks -130 v. Dallas Stars | Top | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 30 h 50 m | Show |
This is a 10* "WESTERN CONFERENCE GAME OF THE YEAR" on the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Chicago Blackhawks (10-2-4) come off a 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday. Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp and Patrick all scored goals for the Hawks who also got two assists from Duncan Keith. Corey Crawford made 24 saves in the win and looked pretty good all night. The Dallas Stars (8-6-2) come off a 4-3 OT win over the Detroit Red Wings. Jamie Benn scored a beauty while Shawn Horcoff and Cody Eatkin added the other goals. Kari Lehtonen made 26 saves and gave his team a chance to win yet again. The Chicago Blackhawks are steamrolling opponents with a high-powered offense led by a red-hot top line. They've won three straight in Dallas and five of six in the series overall, including the three matchups in the 2013 season by a 16-5 margin. It was Chicago's first sweep of the series since 2008-2009. The Stars are feeling pretty good about themselves after a successful road trip but should be shocked back into reality by the defending champs. Take Chicago win as a GOY play. AAA |
|||||||
11-07-13 | Edmonton Oilers v. Tampa Bay Lightning -199 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 27 h 4 m | Show
This is a 4* "BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Oilers are 4-10-2, including 3-5-2 on the road. They're coming off a rare 4-3 OT victory over the Panthers on Tuesday. Suffice it to say, I'm expecting this poor team to make an immediate return to the bottom of the proverbial toilet bowl. They say the sun shines on a dog's anus every now and then and that was definitely the case for Edmonton vs. the Panthers. This is a poor team which will be facing a home side that is on a two-game win streak and which has been beating the "best" in the league convincingly. Most recently the Bolts hammered the Blues 4-2 on Saturday (note that Edmonton is 0-5/-5.3 units this year after scoring 4 goals or more in its previous contest). The well rested Lightning are 10-4, including 6-2 at home (note that Tampa Bay is 6-1/+4.8 units vs. teams with losing records this season). Tampa Bay is 5-0 vs. teams from the West including two wins over defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago. Sometimes a favorite is a favorite for a reason and in this case, there's no question in my mind that the home side is well worth the price of admission in this matchup. Lay the larger price in a contest which will prove to be a no doubter. AAA |
|||||||
11-07-13 | Montreal Canadiens v. Ottawa Senators -115 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 27 h 35 m | Show |
This is a 10* "CONFERENCE GAME OF THE MONTH" on the Ottawa Senators.
The Habs are 8-7-1, including 4-3 away from friendly confines. Most recently they're coming off a 3-2 shootout loss to the Blues on Tuesday. Carey Price made 30 saves (note that Montreal is just 10-19/-10.5 units vs. division opponents over the last two seasons). The Sens are 5-6-4, including just 1-3-2 at home. To say they've gotten out to a "lacklustre" start would be an understatement I think. Ottawa has shown flashes of brilliance at times this season, but has looked extremely "middle of the pack" in others. The Senators though will be looking to build off a great 4-1 victory in Columbus on Tuesday. Keep your eyes on Erik Karlsson who had two goals. Robin Lehner made 32 saves (note that Ottawa is interestingly 17-13/+4 units in its last 30 after a victory by 2 goals or more). This is an important game for both teams obviously, but in my opinion, more so for the home side. This marks the first game of a five game home stand and with just one victory in Ottawa so far this year, setting a tone early during this stretch becomes paramount for the Sens. Price has had success vs. Ottawa throughout his career but note that he was just 1-2-0 with a poor 3.26 GAA in four games vs. it in the playoffs last season. A great situational play coupled with what I believe to be fantastic line value. Play on the Senators. AAA |
|||||||
11-06-13 | Phoenix Coyotes v. Anaheim Ducks -161 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 26 h 26 m | Show
This is a 7* "MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the Anaheim Ducks.
The Phoenix Coyotes come off a SO 3-2 hard fought win over the Vancouver Canucks last night. Shane Doan and Radim Vrbata scored goals in regulation. Mike Smith made 31 saves in the win. The Anaheim Ducks sit alone the top of the Western Conference after a five game eastern road trip ended in a 2-1 win over the New York Rangers. Corey Perry and Kyle Palmeiri scored goals for the Ducks while Federik Anderson made 32 saves in the win. The Ducks refreshed after a day off and at home after a lengthy road trip should be chomping at the beat to take on a Coyotes team that is so close in the standings. The Coyotes will be playing the backend of a back-to-back situation and should be a little tired here, likely playing its back-up players and rolling all four lines. Take the Ducks to win. AAA |
|||||||
11-03-13 | Dallas Stars v. Ottawa Senators -142 | 4-3 | Loss | -142 | 22 h 14 m | Show
This is an 8* "SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION" on the Ottawa Senators.
The Dallas Stars (5-6-1) are coming off a 3-2 OT loss to the Colorado Avalanche at home. Taylor Seguin had one goal and an assist in the loss. Alex Goligoski chipped in with a goal and Kari Lehtonen had 26 saves the loss. The Ottawa Senators (4-6-3) come off a 4-5 SO loss to the New York Islanders. Bobby Ryan had a goal and an assist while Erik Karlsson had two assists in the loss. Robin Lehner made 53 saves on 57 shots as the Senators were heavily outshot. The Sens have now lost four in a row and are desperate for a win. The Stars have been up and down this season, trading wins with losses. Dallas is just 2-5 on the road this season where the Sens have enjoyed just about all its success at home. Lay the extra juice on a Sens team that has underachieved to this point. AAA |
|||||||
11-01-13 | NY Islanders v. Ottawa Senators -135 | 5-4 | Loss | -135 | 18 h 3 m | Show
The New York Islanders (5-4-3) come of a 3-2 loss at the New York Rangers. Travis Harmonic and Cal Clutterbuck scored goals while Evengi Nabakov made 21 saves in the loss. The Ottawa Senators come off a 5-6 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks at home. Five different Senators scored goals for the Senators including Milan Michalek, Joe Corvo and Jason Spezza. Craig Anderson made 34 saves in the loss. The Senators have struggled to start this season but have had a tough schedule adding to the problems. I do expect the Senators win this one at home over the Islanders however as they are 5-2 against the Islanders the last three seasons. The Islanders made a big trade to shake things up but in the process they broke up chemistry with their best players. Lay the wood on Ottawa.

10-30-13 | Boston Bruins v. Pittsburgh Penguins -136 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 26 h 43 m | Show
This is a 9* "EAST-COAST EXPRESS" on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Pittsburgh Penguins come off a 3-1 win at the Carolina Hurricanes. Tanner Glass, Chris Kunitz and Jayson Megna scored goals for the Pens. Sidney Crosby added to his league point total with two assists in the win while Marc-Andre Fleury made 20 saves in the win. The Boston Bruins come off a 2-4 loss to the New Jersey Devils. Torey Krug, Jarome Iginla and Milan Lucic scored goals the Bruins in a losing effort. Tuukka Rask made 28 saves on 32 shots. The Penguins snapped their three game losing streak with the win in Carolina and now return to the ice on home where the team is 5-2 this season. The Boston Bruins had their four game winning streak snapped with the loss to the Devils. This game sets up as a major revenge game for the Penguins seeing as it was Boston that knocked out Pittsburgh in stunning fashion in the Eastern Conference finals last year. The Penguins have won every regular season matchup with Boston since the start of 2012. Look for Pittsburgh to earn this win at to get some revenge. AAA |

10-28-13 | Pittsburgh Penguins -144 v. Carolina Hurricanes | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 26 h 46 m | Show
This is an 8* "SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION" on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Pittsburgh Penguins come off a 4-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night. Kris Letang scored the lone goal for the Penguins. Marc-Andre Fleury made 26 saves in the loss. The Penguins have now lost three in a row after a very hot start. The Carolina Hurricanes come off a 2-4 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on the road. Drayson Bowman and Andrej Sekera scored goals for the Canes in the loss. Justin Peters made 30 saves on 34 shots as Carolina have now lost two in a row and five of its |

10-27-13 | Edmonton Oilers v. Los Angeles Kings -210 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 31 h 8 m | Show
This is a 4* "BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the LA Kings.
The Edmonton Oilers come off a 5-4 loss to Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday afternoon. Ryan Jones, Tyler Pitlick and David Perron scored goals for the Oil. Jason LaBarbera made 22 saves in the loss. The LA Kings scored a 7-4 win over the same Phoenix game on Thursday night. Dwight King scored three goals while Anze Kopitar added a goal and two assists in the win. The Kings gave up a four goal lead before recovering to get the win. The Oilers have lost two in a row and five of its last seven going into this game. LA has won two of the last three matchups and is by far the better team here. LA has had an extra days rest at home while Edmonton played in Phoenix last night. Lay the extra juice to get an easy win with the Kings. AAA |

10-26-13 | St. Louis Blues v. Nashville Predators +111 | Top | 6-1 | Loss | -100 | 28 h 10 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Nashville Predators.
The visiting St. Louis Blues come off a 3-2 OT loss to the Vancouver Canucks last night. The Blues got goals from Vladamir Sobotka and Alexander Steen. Jaroslav Halak made 18 saves in the loss. The Nashville Predators had last night off and is coming off a 3-2 OT win over Winnipeg at home. Shea Weber, Craig Smith and Patric Hornqvist had the goals for the Preds. Carter Hutton made 34 saves in the win. The Blues are playing the backend of a back-to-back here where the Preds will be waiting at home for the Blues. The Blues have now lost three of its last four coming into this game while the Preds have won five of seven. Take the well rested Nashville team at home to get a victory here as the team. AAA |
|||||||
10-25-13 | Anaheim Ducks v. Ottawa Senators -110 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -110 | 26 h 7 m | Show |
This is a 10* "NON-CONFERENCE GAME OF THE YEAR" on the Ottawa Senators.
The Anaheim Ducks come off a 4-1 loss at the Montreal Canadiens last night. Patrick Moroon scored the lone for the Ducks. Jonas Hiller made 21 saves in the loss. The Ducks have now lost two in a row on this Eastern conference road trip. The Ottawa Senators come off an impressive 6-1 road win at Detroit on Tuesday. Bobby Ryan scored twice while Erik Karlsson had two assists in the win as the Sens started off a tough stretch of games on a good note. Bobby Ryan is making his first start with Ottawa against his old team in Anaheim who traded him in the offseason. Expect the Sens players to know this and play a motivational game to support their new star teammate. The Ducks will be a little tired playing their second game on a back to back situation on a tough eastern road trip. Take the Senators in one of my top rated games of the season/year. AAA |

10-25-13 | NY Islanders v. Pittsburgh Penguins -190 | 4-3 | Loss | -190 | 26 h 38 m | Show
This is a 5* "BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The visiting New York Islanders come into this game off a 5-4 SO loss to the Vancouver Canucks. Matt Moulson had two goals while Kyle Okposo added two assists in the win. Evgeni Nabokov made 28 saves in the loss. The Pittsburgh Penguins suffered its |

10-24-13 | Phoenix Coyotes v. Los Angeles Kings -153 | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 31 h 52 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the LA Kings.
The Phoenix Coyotes come off a 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames. Mike Riberio scored twice while Radim Vbrata and Rob Klinkmar each scored the goals for Coyotes while Mike Smith made 22 saves in win. The Coyotes have won five of seven games headed into this Thursday game. The LA Kings come off a surprising 3-2 loss to the Calgary Flames. Drew Doughty and Jeff Carter scored goals for the Kings. Jonathan Quick made 22 saves in the loss. The Kings allowed a PP goal at 19:30 mark the third period to lose in shocking fashion. The Kings have now had three days off on this home stand and likely will come out with a vengeance in this game. LA is 5-2 against Phoenix in the last three seasons and look for this same strong Kings to get a win here. AAA |
|||||||
10-24-13 | Calgary Flames v. Dallas Stars -170 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 29 h 52 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Dallas Stars.
The Calgary Flames come off a 4-2 loss at the Phoenix Coyotes. Joe Colborne and Lee Stampniak got the goals for the Flames. Joey McDonald made 29 saves in the loss. Karri Ramo is expected to get the start for the Flames on Thursday. The Dallas Stars meanwhile come off a 6-3 loss at Anaheim. Brendan Dillion, Shawn Horcoff and Ryan Garbutt scored for the Stars who actually had a 3-1 lead in this game before allowing the Ducks to come all the way back. The Stars have struggled without their top goalie, Dallas have been without Lehtonen since a 4-1 win at Winnipeg on Oct. 11, which he left due to a lower-body injury. He is 2-1-0 with a 1.57 goals-against average in three games. Dallas has had three days of rest and I expect them to take of a lesser team in Calgary here at home. Dallas is 3-1 in the last four versus Calgary. Take the Stars at a decent price at home. AAA |
|||||||
10-24-13 | Carolina Hurricanes v. Minnesota Wild -157 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 28 h 23 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Minnesota Wild.
The Minnesota Wild come off a 2-0 win over the Nashville Predators at home. Justin Fontaine and Jason Pominville had two goals while Zach Parise led the teams with two assists. Josh Harding made 16 saves to get the shutout win. The Carolina Hurricanes come off a 4-3 win at the New York Islanders on Saturday. Jiri Tlusty score twice while Jeff Skinner and Jordan Staal added the other goals. Cam Ward made 22 saves in the win. The Wild have won its last three home games and should be able to get the win here. Carolina 0-3 versus non-conference opponents this season while the Wild is 3-0 in games after a divisional game. Take the Wild at a decent price at home to get this one done. AAA |
|||||||
10-23-13 | Boston Bruins -173 v. Buffalo Sabres | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 29 h 53 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Boston Bruins.
The Boston Bruins come off a 5-0 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Patrice Bergeron, David Krecji, Chris Kelly scored for the Bruins who had five different players light the lamp on Saturday. Tuukka Rask made 23 saves in the win. The Buffalo Sabres come off a 2-4 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. Cody Hodgson and Marcus Foligno scored goals in the loss. The Sabres have lost nine of ten games this season and are allowing its opponents 2.8 goals per game. This game will be as tough as it gets with a very good Bruins team in town. Look for Boston to score big while the Sabres do just enough to get a few goals in this game. Six of the last 10 meetings between these two teams saw the higher number fall and I expect that trend to continue. The Bruins should walk all over them as they are the better team record wise and obviously on paper. AAA |
|||||||
10-21-13 | Colorado Avalanche v. Pittsburgh Penguins -163 | 1-0 | Loss | -163 | 29 h 8 m | Show
This is a 6* play on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The visiting Colorado Avalanche continued its hot start to the season with a 4-2 win at Buffalo on Saturday. Gabriel Landeskog and Matt Duchene each had a goal and an assist in the win. Jean-Sebastion Giguere had 28 saves in the win. Colorado has now won seven of its first eight games to start the season. The Pittsburgh Penguins come off a 4-3 SO win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday afternoon. Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz each had a goal and two assists in the win. Marc |

10-21-13 | San Jose Sharks v. Detroit Red Wings +100 | Top | 1-0 | Loss | -100 | 29 h 9 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Detroit Red Wings.
The visiting San Jose Sharks come off a 6-3 win over the Calgary Flames. The Sharks got goals from Brent Burns, Patrick Marleau and Logan Couture. Anti Niemi made 16 saves in the game where the Sharks outshot the Flames 35 to 18 in the blowout win. The Sharks come into this game with a 7-0-1 record with only loss coming via shootout to the Dallas Stars. The Detroit Red Wings come off a 5-2 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes. The Wings got goals from Pavel Datsyuk and Todd Bertuzzi while Jimmy Howard made 28 saves in the loss. The Sharks look like the class of the west so far this season but this should be a real test for the team to go out east and play an old rival in the Wings. Detroit is fuming from the embarrassing loss and will looking to come back with a statement game here. The Wings had won four straight before the loss to the Coyotes. These teams know each other pretty well but the Wings have the home ice advantage here. Take the Red Wings at good value on the Money Line. AAA |
|||||||
10-20-13 | Nashville Predators v. Winnipeg Jets -144 | 3-1 | Loss | -144 | 28 h 15 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Winnipeg Jets.
The Nashville Predators is coming off a 2-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. Seth Jones and Shea Weber scored the goals for the Preds. Pekka Rhinne made 28 saves in the win. The Winnipeg Jets are coming off a 4-3 SO win at home over the St. Louis Blues. The Jets got goals from Olli Jokinen, Evander Kane and Tobias Enstrom. Ondrej Pavelec made 29 saves in the win. The Jets are coming off a big win over a good team in the Blues and will riding some good confidence. The Preds have played better of late but note the team has been at home for most of the games. In fact the win Montreal was the first road win of the season for the Nashville in four tries. Also note that Preds will somewhat fatigued after yesterday |

10-18-13 | Phoenix Coyotes v. Anaheim Ducks -145 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 31 h 54 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Anaheim Ducks.
The Phoenix Coyotes are coming off a 4-3 OT loss to the Ottawa Senators at home on Wednesday night. Radim Vrbata and Mike Riberio and Rob Klinkhammer scored for the Coyotes in a losing effort. Mike Smith made 28 saves in the loss. The Anaheim Ducks are coming off a 3-2 win at home versus the Calgary Flames. The Ducks got goals from Dustin Penner, Teemu Selanne and Ryan Palmeri got goals for the Ducks. Viktor Fasth made 33 saves in place of Jonas Hiller. The Ducks have won five in a row and are off to the races early in this season with a team deeper than the one that fell to the Wings in first round of the playoffs last year. This team is playing with something prove this year and have taken advantage of its recent matchups with Phoenix going 3-1 in the past three seasons. Lay the juice on Anaheim. AAA |

10-17-13 | Carolina Hurricanes v. Toronto Maple Leafs -152 | 3-2 | Loss | -152 | 25 h 25 m | Show
This is an 8* "ART OF THE GAME" on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Carolina Hurricanes battled back to get one point in a 3-2 loss the Chicago Blackhawks at home on Tuesday. Alexander Semin and Ron Hainsey scored the goals in the loss. Cam Ward made 34 saves and was named the second star in the game. The Toronto Maple Leafs continued to roll with a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday. Mason Raymond scored twice while Tyler Bozak and Trevor Smith added the others in the win. James Reimer made 36 saves in the win. Carolina has now lost three in a row while the Leafs have won three in row. Toronto will be playing its third straight game at home and have been dominant this season with its only loss to the undefeated Colorado. The Randy Carlyle led Leafs crushed the Hurricanes last season 6-3 and I expect another win here. Lay the price for the better team and the home team in Toronto. AAA |

10-17-13 | Vancouver Canucks -137 v. Buffalo Sabres | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 25 h 24 m | Show
This is an 8* "ART OF WAR" on the Vancouver Canucks.
The Vancouver Canucks moved over .500 on the season again as they got this road trip off to a good start on Tuesday with a 3-2 come from behind win at the Philadelphia Flyers. Ryan Kesler had two goals in the win and Roberto Luongo was solid in making 20 saves. The Buffalo Sabres got its first win of the season with a 4-3 SO win over the New York Islanders. Thomas Vanek, Tyler Ennis and Marcus Folgino got the goals for the Sabres while Ryan Miller made 41 saves as the Sabres got outshot 44-34 in the win. These teams have not met since March 2012 when the Canucks won a 5-3 decision. The Sabres are 0-2 in non-conference games this season and 9-11 the past three seasons while the Canucks are 2-1 and 13-8 in the same spot. The Canucks are the better team here and gained confidence with a come from behind win Philadelphia. Look for Vancouver to keep it rolling here against one of the worst teams in the league In Buffalo. Lay the juice. AAA |

10-15-13 | Minnesota Wild v. Toronto Maple Leafs -145 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 27 h 13 m | Show
This is an 8* "SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION" on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Minnesota Wild got its third win of the season with a 2-1 decision over the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. Jason Pominville and Kyle Brodziak scored the goals for Wild. Josh Harding made 22 saves to get his second win in row in place of Nicklas Backstrom. The Toronto Maples Leafs gutted out a 6-5 OT win over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. Dave Bolland scored the game winning goal while Joffrey Lupul scored two goals while Cody Franson added two assists in the win. Jonathan Bernier made 26 saves in the win. The Leafs have won five of its first six games and are playing some good hockey now while the Wild played last night and are on the back-end of a back-to-back situation. The Wild are just 6-13 in non-conference games the last three seasons. The Leafs and Wild don |

10-14-13 | Edmonton Oilers v. Washington Capitals -154 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 25 h 44 m | Show

The Edmonton Oilers are coming off an emotional 5-6 loss on national TV to the Toronto Maple Leafs in Canada |

10-13-13 | New Jersey Devils v. Winnipeg Jets -136 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 29 h 28 m | Show
This is an 8* play on the Winnipeg Jets.
The New Jersey Devils are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Calgary Flames on the road. Adam Henrique and Dainus Zubrus scored the goals for the Devils while Martin Brodeur made 26 saves in the loss. The loss was the Devils fifth straight to start the season and tied a franchise record. Dallas is coming off a 4-1 loss at home to the Dallas Stars. Blake Wheeler scored the lone goal for the Jets while Ondrej Pavelec made 27 saves in the loss. The Devils have yet to win a game this season thanks in part to this brutal western road trip to go with a lack of cohesion to start the season. While the Devils obviously can |

10-12-13 | NY Islanders v. Nashville Predators -116 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 28 h 14 m | Show |
This is a 10* "SUPER-BLOWOUT" on the Nashville Predators.
The visiting New York Islanders sit at 2-1-1 after a 3-2 loss on the road in Chicago last night. The Islanders got goals from Josh Bailey and Kyle Okposo. Back-up goalie Kevin Poulin made 25 saves in the loss. It was the first regulation time loss for the upstart Islanders on the season. The Nashville Predators sit at 1-3 after getting shut out by Toronto 0-4 at home on Thursday night. The Predators have won six of the past seven home meetings with the Islanders, including five in a row while outscoring them 14-4. They've also shut them out three times during that winning streak, which is part of a 7-0-1 record in the last eight overall matchups. The Islander should feel it in the legs a little bit here on the back-end-of a back situation. The Preds should be pretty fuming made after getting shut out at home. Take the Predators to win straight up. AAA |

This is a 10* play on the Calgary Flames.
The New Jersey Devils sit at 0-4 after a 3-2 loss in Vancouver on Tuesday. Jaromir Jagr got a goal and Cory Schneider made 29 saves in his return to Vancouver. The Devils are mirrored in its worst losing streak to start a season since the early 80 |

10-11-13 | Los Angeles Kings -125 v. Carolina Hurricanes | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 26 h 30 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the LA Kings.
The LA Kings stopped its early mini losing streak early this season with a 4-3 SO win over Ottawa on Wednesday. Jeff Carter scored the game winning goal and added another plus an assist in the win. Dustin Brown added two goals as Jonathan Quick made 22 saves on 25 shots to pace the Kings to a win. The Carolina Hurricanes sit at 2-2 after a 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals in the Nation |

10-10-13 | Toronto Maple Leafs v. Nashville Predators -114 | Top | 4-0 | Loss | -114 | 30 h 8 m | Show |
This is a 10* "NON-CONFERENCE GAME OF THE YEAR" on the Nashville Predators.
The Toronto Maple Leafs lost its first game of the season to the Colorado Avalanche at home 2-1 in its last outing to fall to 3-1 on the year. Joffrey Lupul scored the lone goals for the Leafs and the Leafs got 31 saves from goalie Jonathan Bernier in the loss. The Nashville Predators finally got the monkey off its back winning a 3-2 decision over the Wild on Tuesday. The Preds got 32 saves from Pekka Rhine and goals from Colin Wilson, Eric Nystrom and Flip Forsberg. It was not a huge surprise that the Predators lost two games in a row to start the season on the road in San Jose and Colorado, both tough places to play. The Leafs may not have Joffrey Lupul in this game and will play its first game versus a non conference opponent on the road here this season. Lay the juice with Nashville who have a great matchup to go to 2-0 at home here. AAA |

10-09-13 | Ottawa Senators +129 v. Los Angeles Kings | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 31 h 41 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Ottawa Senators.
The Ottawa Senators are 1-0-1 after a shootout loss to rival Ottawa on Saturday. Kyle Turris, Cory Conacher, Jared Cowen and Spezza scored for the Senators. Craig Anderson made 38 saves on 42 shots as the Senators had just one PP all game compared to the Leafs 6. The LA Kings are coming off a 3-1 loss to road tripping New York Rangers and sit at 1-2 early. Jake Muzzin scored the lone goal for the Kings and Jonathan Quick made 23 saves in the loss. The Ottawa Senators are a solid team and in no way should be this much of an underdog, even on the road versus LA. The Kings are a team that have had a recent history of starting slow under Darryl Sutter. I think we are seeing that here this season. We can throw out any sort of history as these have not met in years. . Take the Senators to win with plus money. AAA |

10-09-13 | Chicago Blackhawks v. St. Louis Blues -120 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 28 h 12 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the St. Louis Blues.
The Chicago Blackhawks sit at 1-1 after a 3-2 SO loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday. Brandon Saad and Patrick Kane scored goals for the defending champs while Corey Crawford made 14 saves on 16 shots as the Hawks outshot Tampa a ridiculous 39-16 in the loss. The St. Louis Blues are 2-0 after a 7-0 domination of Florida. Newcomer Brandon Morrow had a goal and an assist while Jayden Schwartz had three points as a ton of Blues players got into the action. Jaroslav Halak made 19 saves for the shutout as the Blues have allowed just two goals through the two games to start this season. This is a matchup of two of the best teams in the newly formed Western conference this year. The Blues have a large advantage of having home ice for the first five games of this season and no doubt have this first matchup with the defending cup champions circled on their maps. This will be the Hawks first game on the road and its going to be tough one for them. Lay a little extra juice to get the home team here in St. Louis. AAA |

The Montreal Canadiens sit at 1-1 on the season after a 4-1 over Philadelphia last Saturday night. 10-08-13 | New Jersey Devils v. Vancouver Canucks -179 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 29 h 54 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Vancouver Canucks.
The New Jersey Devils fell to 0-1-2 after a 5-4 SO loss in Edmonton last night. Michael Ryder, Jaromor Jagr, Patrick Elias and Damien Brunner all scored goals for the Devils in the loss. Martin Brodeur made 23 of 27 saves in the loss. The loss to Edmonton was the first of a five game western road trip at the start of this season. The Vancouver Canucks sit at 2-1 after a 5-4 come from behind win on Sunday against the Calgary Flames. Eddie Lack spelled Luongo on back-to-back nights, making 32 saves to get his first career victory. The Canucks got goals from Mike Santorelli, David Booth and Jannik Hansen. It was a game the Canucks did not deserve to win as the team got out played for 2/3 of the game but good teams find a way to get the win. Look for the Canucks to take advantage of a Devils team in the midst of a tough road trip that saw the team play in Edmonton just last night. A big story line heading into this game will the matchup in goal as Cory Schneider will face his old teammates in Vancouver. For the outcome of the game it won |

10-08-13 | Phoenix Coyotes v. NY Islanders -125 | Top | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 26 h 55 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the New York Islanders.
The Phoenix Coyotes sit at 1-1 after a loss at San Jose 1-4 on Saturday. Oliver Ekman-Larsson had the lone goal for the Coyotes who got 47 saves from goalie Mike Smith. The Coyotes got outshot 51-23 in the loss. The road game was the first of brutal five game road trip that takes the team out east. The New York Islanders also sit at 1-1 after a 2-3 narrow SO defeat at the hands of Columbus on Saturday. Lubomir Visnosky and Matt Moulson tallied goals for the Islanders in the loss. Evgeni Nabokov made 27 saves on 29 shots in the loss. The Coyotes will be at great disadvantage here playing a game on the east coast with the time change. The Islanders are a very good team this year coming off a playoff experience last season. Look for the Islanders to pull out the win here. Lay the short juice on the Islanders. AAA |

10-07-13 | NY Rangers +134 v. Los Angeles Kings | Top | 3-1 | Win | 134 | 32 h 23 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the New York Rangers.
The New York Rangers sit at 0-1 after a 4-1 opening season loss to the Phoenix Coyotes. Marc Staal scored the lone goal for the Rangers who were out-shot 32-24 overall in the game. Derek Stepan and Rick Nash added the helpers. Henrik Lundqvist made 28 saves on 34 shots for a pretty lifeless Rangers team playing its first game under new head coach Alain Vigneault. The LA Kings sit at 1-1 after a 5-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on the road. Jeff Carter Matt Greene and Justin Williams scored goals for LA while Jonathan Quick made 27 saves in the loss. The Rangers did not play well in their opener but have had three complete days off to think about it here and prepare for a tough road game in LA. Alain Vigneault is no stranger to coaching games against the Kings as his former team Vancouver has many a important tilts with LA. I expect the Rangers to come out flying and get a much needed win on the road. The Kings could very well get caught looking ahead to a division tilt with long time rival San Jose coming up next on their sched. Take the Rangers at plus money here. AAA |

10-06-13 | Vancouver Canucks v. Calgary Flames +134 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -100 | 30 h 24 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Calgary Flames.
The Vancouver Canucks sit at 1-1 after a 6-2 blowout win in its home opener last night against Edmonton. Henrik Sedin had three assists while brother Daniel added a goal and a helper. The Canucks also got a shorthanded goal from new comer Brad Richardson. Roberto Luongo made 21-23 saves in the win. The Calgary Flames is 1-0-1 after a 4-3 road win over Columbus on Friday night. T.J. Galiardi had a goal and an assist while Joey McDonald made 29 saves to get the win. The Flames have now taken point in two straight games both on the road. This game will mark the home opener for Calgary who is not playing with a lot of expectations this season. This matchup looks to be a good one for the young Flames here early as Canucks will be playing the second half of a back-to-back night. Calgary is 3-2 versus the Canucks at home over the past three seasons. The Canucks will likely start Roberto Luongo again as the team has no back-up with any NHL experience. Either way I like the value we are getting with the home team here. Take Calgary. AAA |

10-05-13 | Columbus Blue Jackets v. NY Islanders -125 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -125 | 29 h 49 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the New York Islanders.
The Columbus Blue Jackets sit a disappointing 0-1 after home opening loss to a poor Calgary Flames team last night 4-3. Jack Johnson had a goal and an assist while Marian Gaborik also scored in the losing effort. Sergei Bobrovsky made 26 saves of a possible 30 as the Flames somehow got two points on the back end of a back to back on the road. The New York Islanders scored an overtime SO win on the road last night. Michael Grabner scored twice and added an assist in the win. Evgeni Nabakov made 26 saves in the win. I expect the Islanders to make it two wins in a row here as the team will be playing its home opener here. While the Islanders were on the road, it really wasn |

10-04-13 | Calgary Flames v. Columbus Blue Jackets -182 | 4-3 | Loss | -182 | 28 h 5 m | Show
This is a 5* play on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Calgary Flames are 0-0-1 after road loss in Washington last night. David Jones, Lee Stempniak, Jiri Hudler and Lance Bouma scored for Calgary. Karri Ramo made 35 saves. The Flames blew a 4-1 lead in this game to lose in a shootout. Calgary is expected a bottom feeder this season as the rebuild has started. Departures of long time stars Jarome Iginla and Mikka Kiprusoff have trigged that line of thinking. The Columbus Blue Jackets made a surprising run at the postseason last year thanks to MVP type play from goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky who was the Vezeina trophy winner as the best goalie. There is a lot of optimism this season as the team brings back largely the same unit. Columbus went 5-0-2 over the previous two seasons against Calgary. Take the Blue Jackets to get the easy win versus a Calgary club that is less than stellar. The Flames played yesterday and should be a little weary travelling in the east early this season. AAA |

10-04-13 | Ottawa Senators -120 v. Buffalo Sabres | Top | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 28 h 6 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Ottawa Senators.
The Ottawa Senators start the season as the NHL early dark horse Stanley Cup favorite. Out is long time Captain Daniel Alfredsson and in is Bobby Ryan. The Senators excelled last season despite a comedy of injuries to star players. The star player are back now this season as Jason Spezza and Erik Karlsson are back and good go. Craig Anderson was a rock last season and is expected to keep it going here. The Buffalo Sabres lost its season opener to the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 on Wednesday on the road. Ryan Miller made 32 saves in the loss and little known Zigmus Girgensons got the lone goal for the Sabres were outshot and out classed for most of the night. I expect that happen quite a bit for a Sabres team that is ripe for a rebuild year. The Senators are the favorite here for a reason and could blowout the Sabres in this one. Lay small extra juice to get Ottawa and an early win for them and you. AAA |

10-03-13 | Vancouver Canucks +120 v. San Jose Sharks | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -100 | 26 h 11 m | Show |
This is a 10* "WEST-COAST EXPRESS" on the Vancouver Canucks.
There are a lot of the same faces on both sides of this matchup. The visiting Vancouver Canucks biggest change coming into this game is new head coach John Tortorella who brings his fiery attitude in after getting dismissed from the New York Rangers last season. The biggest change from a personnel standpoint has to the departure of Cory Schneider. Roberto Luongo is back and will be the starting goaltender for the Canucks. Vancouver |

10-03-13 | New Jersey Devils v. Pittsburgh Penguins -185 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 23 h 12 m | Show
This is a 5* "BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT" on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The visiting New Jersey Devils come in as the underdog in this matchup for a reason. Gone is superstar Ilya Kovalchuck who left the team to retire and play in Russia midsummer. In is Jaromir Jagr. Hall of fame goalie Martin Brodeur will not be the starter in this game due to no real time to practice and play during the preseason. Cory Schneider gets his first taste of action playing for a club in the Eastern Conference. The Pittsburgh Penguins are the perennial Cup favorites at the beginning of the season yet again. Sidney Crosby and Evengi Malkin continue to be two of the best players in the world and now they are surrounded by cast of players that really compliment them in Chris Kunitz, James Neal and Jussi Jokinen. Marc-Andre Fleury has something to prove as the net is his again due to an injury to Thomas Vokoun who the start when Fluery struggled down the stretch of last season. The Pens left the playoffs in embarrassing fashion last season after getting swept by the Boston Bruins. Crosby and company are likely itching to get back at it here. Lay the juice in what will likely be an easy win. AAA |

10-02-13 | Toronto Maple Leafs v. Philadelphia Flyers -129 | 3-1 | Loss | -129 | 25 h 37 m | Show
This is a 9* play on the Philadelphia Flyers.
The visiting Toronto Maple Leafs are 1-0 on the young season and is coming off a 4-3 win over rival Montreal Canadiens. James Reimer made 34 saves on 37 shots for the win. Four different Leafs players got on the board including Tyler Bozak, Dion Phaneuf, James van Riemsdyke and Mason Raymond who scored the game winner in the third period. The Flyers will be playing their first game of the season and this will be a home opener. Philadelphia had a makeover in the off season with the departures of Jaromir Jagr and Daniel Briere. In is 14-year veteran veteran Vincent Lecavalier. This is a big season for head coach Peter Laviolette who is said to be on the hot seat after last years |

10-01-13 | Winnipeg Jets +134 v. Edmonton Oilers | Top | 5-4 | Win | 134 | 30 h 53 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Winnipeg Jets.
The visiting Jets come into this season opener with a lot of optimism after the teams second year back in Winnipeg. The Jets may not have made the playoffs last season but they did bring in some new talent in Devon Setoguchi and Michael Frolik. The team has a nice nucleus of players in Andrew Ladd, Evander Kane, Blake Wheeler and Dustin Buyfuglien. The Oilers missed the playoffs yet again last season after all the optimism surrounding the young squad. Among the key offseason acquisitions for the Oilers were forward David Perron, who came over from the St. Louis Blues in a trade for Magnus Paajarvi, and defenceman Andrew Ference, signed as a free agent. We have been hearing forever now about how this Edmonton team is going to be the next hotness but its |

10-01-13 | Toronto Maple Leafs +120 v. Montreal Canadiens | Top | 4-3 | Win | 120 | 27 h 14 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs enter the 2013 season optimism despite the bad taste in its mouth after a first round loss to the Boston Bruins. The team has made a few positive changes over the offseason adding a member of the Chicago Blackhawks championship team in David Bolland, tough skilled guy in David Clarkson and budding star netminder Jonathan Bernier. The Leafs were young last year but really look to be headed in the right direction with talented forwards and a strong young backend anchored by Dion Phaneuf. The Montreal Canadiens have a bad taste to after a disappointing five game series loss to the Ottawa Senators in the first round last season. The Habs added a good little player in Daniel Briere who should fit right into the culture of French speaking majority. Douglas Murray was added to get some depth on the backend as well. These two storied franchises have spilt the last 10 meetings with each other. This will be in Montreal where it is the home opener for the team. While the atmosphere will be electric, its important to note that the Leafs are 7-3 in the last 10 games played at Montreal. The goaltender for the Habs Carey Price is just 1-4 with a pedestrian 3.86 GAA in his last five outings with Toronto. The Leafs are the better team here and we are getting them at plus money. Take Toronto. AAA |

06-19-13 | Chicago Blackhawks +119 v. Boston Bruins | Top | 6-5 | Win | 119 | 32 h 17 m | Show |
This is a 10* "SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION" on the Chicago Blackhawks.
Despite being "injured", the return of Marian Hossa to the Blackhawks' lineup is a significant one tonight. Note that Chicago is 16-7 (+6.8 units) in revenging a loss vs. an opponent this year. It's also 9-3 (+5.2 units) after scoring 1 goal or less in its previous contest. And despite its suffocating play of late, note that this is a spot that Boston has struggled in all year, going 4-5 (-1.1 units) after shutting out its opponent in its previous game. Each team has been backed by superb goaltending and both have played well at both ends of the ice. I simply feel that the desperation level that the Blackhawks will be playing with tonight will ultimately prove to be the difference in Game 4; between these two evenly matched clubs, I'm backing the dog. AAA |

06-17-13 | Chicago Blackhawks +114 v. Boston Bruins | Top | 0-2 | Loss | -100 | 32 h 38 m | Show |
This is a 10* "BLOWOUT" on the Chicago Blackhawks.
Two very evenly matched clubs right? The series is tied at 1-1 with each team winning in overtime. I still feel that Chicago is the superior team on the ice and that eventually all of the shots that it has been directing on net will start to go in, winning that battle 47-37 in Game 1, and 34-28 in Game 2. Note that the Hawks are 9-2 (+6.2 units) this year after scoring 1 goal or less in their previous contest and 6-2 (+3.6 units) in revenging a home loss vs an opponent. The Blackhawks dominated on the road this year as well, going 18-4-2 overall. At this point of the season and series, all matchups have been dissected ad nauseum. This is simply a great situational play as we're getting "plus-money" on what I believe to be the better team, as home ice will in the end turn out to be anything about an advantage for the B's tonight. Play on Chicago. AAA |

06-15-13 | Boston Bruins v. Chicago Blackhawks -155 | 2-1 | Loss | -155 | 57 h 56 m | Show
This is an 8* "SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION" on the Chicago Blackhawks.
I played Chicago in Game 1. If you did not have a chance to read that analysis, I believe it's worth a quick glance as it also directly applies to my selection in Game 2: Here we go with Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals between Original Six members Boston and Chicago. This series is being dubbed as one that will be decided by whichever man plays better between the pipes. Chicago's Corey Crawford leads the entire league with a 1.74 GAA, while Boston's Tuukka Rask is right behind at 1.75. At this point of the season, we all know the strengths and weaknesses of each club. Both teams are in fact almost mirror images of each other. Each possesses an opportunistic and explosive offense. Each is backed by World-class goaltending and a rugged defensive unit which dictates the pace and tempo of games. So in this battle of equals, where's the value or the "edge"? I believe it's home ice. While the B's did finish with an overall winning 12-9-3 record away from friendly confines this year, that still works out to be negative units if wagering on them. The Blackhawks on the other hand were nearly unbeatable in Chicago, going 18-3-3. Expect the 'Hawks to take full advantage and find a way to get the job done at the end of the night; lay it. Note that Boston is -1.3 units this year when playing with two-days of rest, while Chicago is 9-5 (+1.3 units) in the same position (and note that the Hawks are a whopping 19-5 (+11.4 units) after scoring 4 goals or more in their previous game). Boston's facade has been exposed; expect the Hawks to jump out to an early lead and never look back. AAA |

06-05-13 | PITTSBURGH GM3 +101 v. BOSTON GM3 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 31 h 9 m | Show |
This is a 10* "SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION" play on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
We all know the strengths and weaknesses of these teams. We all know that the Bruins have a commanding 2-0 series lead and that they're now playing on home ice in Game 3. So are the Penguins as horrible as the last two games would lead us to believe? And are the Bruins as dominant as they seem to be at this point of the series? For both questions, I believe the answer is a resounding: "no"! Note that Pittsburgh is 6-3 (+1.5 units) this season after scoring 1 goal or less in its previous contest and 13-5 (+3.8 units) in revenging a loss vs. an opponent. Note that Boston is 4-6 (-3.9 units) this year following a three-game unbeaten streak. Throw out the stats from the first two games. Pittsburgh is loaded with talent in every position and this is a "do or die" game for the franchise as a 3-0 hole would be the final nail in the coffin for the club. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter who starts in net for the visitors, this is a "situational" play. Expect the Pens to risk life and limb getting into shooting and passing lanes, and just like the LA Kings last night, get back into this series with a resounding effort and victory; in my humble opinion, this is the very definition of "great line value". 06-04-13 | Chicago Blackhawks v. Los Angeles Kings -129 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 32 h 10 m | Show
This is an 8* "SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION" on the LA Kings.
With a shift in venue and with their backs against the wall, I finally expect the defending Stanley Cup champion LA Kings to show up tonight in front of the home town crowd. ''We've been here, what, three weeks ago?'' Kings' forward Justin Williams assessed last night, referring to his team's escape in the first round vs the Blues. ''Obviously it's not do-or-die (in Game 3), but it is.'' If history is any precedence then LA has to be loving its chances as it's won 14 straight in front of the home town crowd (and note that LA is 17-10 (+4.9 units) this year in revenging a loss vs. an opponent). ''Home ice is something we've been able to rely on, and have in our back pocket,'' Williams continued. ''I'm (also) not sure why we went 10-1 on the road last year (in the playoffs). Certainly our confidence is high for us coming back home. There's been a lot of success there. We've won every which way there, and it's going to have to continue.'' I don't think we need to overanalyze this pick. Home ice can not be underestimated; fantastic line value. Lay the short price. AAA |

05-29-13 | Detroit Red Wings v. Chicago Blackhawks -208 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 34 h 31 m | Show
This is a 5* "SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION" on the Chicago Blackhawks.
I've played the Blackhawks throughout this series so it comes as no surprise to learn that I'm on them in Game 7. If you did not have a chance to read my analysis from Game 5 and 6, I feel it's worth a quick glance here: I played the Blackhawks in Game 5 and if you didn't have a chance to read that analysis I believe it's worth a quick look right now: "Consistency" has of course been the achilles heel of the Detroit Red Wings all season; granted, they've looked much better since the start of the Playoffs, but it's still significant to note that Detroit is just 1-3 (-2.2 units) following a three-game unbeaten streak. Chicago has every reason to feel confident in a bounce-back here tonight; not only is it 7-2 (+4.2 units) after scoring 1 goal or less in its previous contest this season, but it's also 12-6 (+3.8 units) in revenging a loss vs. an opponent. I don't think we need to overanalyze this one. Chicago has clearly been underachieving; the Wings will check out early and look to wrap up this series in front of the home town crowd in Game 6. Lay the price. Note that Chicago is 16-4 (+9.4 units) this season after scoring 4 goals or more in its previous contest. I've been unconvinced that the Wings would be able to keep up their intensity level and there's no question that the wheels finally came off the bus last time out. I look for Chicago to control this contest from the outset and to take this one home for a decisive Game 7 finale. Lay the price on the "better" team. Home ice advantage simply can not be understated and will in the end turn out to be the difference; lay it. AAA |

05-28-13 | SAN JOSE GM7 v. LOS ANGELES GM7 -149 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 29 h 60 m | Show
This is an 8* "SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION" on the LA Kings.
As it's been throughout the course of the Western Conference semi-finals, "home ice advantage" will be the difference tonight. Note that the home team has won every game so far in this series. And note that LA is 16-9 (+4.9 units) in revenging a loss vs. an opponent. The Kings have won 13 consecutive home games over the past two months and seven straight home playoff games dating to last season's Cup clincher. Also note that the home team has won all four regular-season meetings between the clubs this season as well (incredibly, the home team has in fact won 15 of the team's past 16 over the past two years). And for the icing on the cake?! LA lost just four times in regulation at the Staples Center this season. Great line value on a team which is basically unbeatable at home. Lay the short-price. AAA |

This is a 10* "BIG TIGER" on the Chicago Blackhawks.
I played the Blackhawks in Game 5 and if you didn't have a chance to read that analysis I believe it's worth a quick look right now: "Consistency" has of course been the achilles heel of the Detroit Red Wings all season; granted, they've looked much better since the start of the Playoffs, but it's still significant to note that Detroit is just 1-3 (-2.2 units) following a three-game unbeaten streak. AAA |
