11/24 12:00 PM CB (517) STANFORD VS (518) MIAMI FLORIDA. Take: (518) MIAMI FLORIDA Reason: A long road trip for Stanford to Kissimmee Florida and a short one for Miami. The Cardinal are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. Miami's mix of five returners and four freshmen have meshed well with the newcomers. Five-star recruits Dewan Huell (13.0 points, 66.7 percent shooting, 6.7 rebounds), a 6-11 forward, and Brown (9.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists.) have lived up to expectations along with Australian guard DJ Vasiljevic (11.7 points, 9-of-18 on 3-pointers). The Hurricanes have held their first three foes to a combined total of only 61 points in the first half on 27.8 percent shooting. Miami is 14-6 ATS in their last 20 non-conference games. Play Miami.

The Rockets have rebounded from a 77-76 setback at Saint Joseph's in their season opener with a 103-98 win over Youngstown State and an 82-78 triumph at Wright State. Most clubs like to pad their early season schedule with small schools or Div 2 clubs. Not so much for Alabama, as they have already faced Dayton and Ball State to open the season. The Tide is 2-1 both S/U and ATS, with their loss coming to Dayton, 77-72. Alabama has been firing from long range, averaging 9.3 three-point field goals per game. The Tide also have a very good bench, evidenced by their bench output equaling Ball State's total points in their matchup. Valparaiso is 3-1 S/U and 0-2 to start the season. Their one test came at Oregon, where they lost 76-54 as 12 point dogs. Short line here tonight with Alabama laying just two-points. I like the Tide with their sharp shooters hitting early. While these two schools won't garner much attention from the national polls, UC Davis has already made some waves. Sacramento State is 1-2 S/U and 0-2 ATS to start the season. The Hornets won their home opener with a win over Antelope Valley, 82-60. The Hornets will have to do a better job tonight defending the three-point line, after they have allowed a .500 shooting from beyond the arc thus far. These clubs have a big history against each other, but on a neutral court my nod goes to UC Davis.

Notre Dame doesn't turn the ball over, ranking fourth in fewest turnovers per game. They are also 2nd in the country in assist to turnover ratio with a 3.4 rating. The bad news is the fact that the club's outstanding backcourt has struggled from beyond the three point arc, averaging just 29.6 percent. Meanwhile, Northern Iowa also comes into this contest undefeated, 3-0. Northern Iowa has a very nice OT win over Oklahoma thus far. Nevada Reno is home, where they play their best defense. Morehead State has not shot well in the series and with the title on the line, look for both teams to play all-out defense. The Under is 7-3 in the Wolf Pack's last 10 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. And both teams have been horrible from the free throw line. Play Morehead State/Nevada Under the total.

3/19 12:10 PM EST CB (521) WICHITA STATE VS (522) MIAMI FLORIDA. Take: (521) Second round Game of the Year: Wichita State.Wichita State has been a monster since they got healthy, with the best backcourt in the nation. As a No. 11 seed they just thumped Arizona, 65-55: Ron Baker added 13 points, six assists and five rebounds on 6-of-13 shooting. Key contributions off the bench once again came from Markis McDuffie and Conner Frankamp who each added 10 points. McDuffie also added four boards and two steals, while Frankamp claimed two blocked shots. The story was the Shocker defense for much of the game, forcing 19 turnovers, nine of which were steals. The Shockers are 60-29-2 ATS following a straight up win. They match up well with Miami-Florida, who is on a 0-4 ATS run. Play Wichita State.

3/17 09:55 PM ESt CB (747) GONZAGA VS (748) SETON HALL. Take: (748) NCAA Tourney Shocker of the Year: Seton Hall. Seton Hall opened as a dog here and has had an incredible run through the Big East tournament as they defeated both Xavier and Villanova as a dog to win the Conference Tournament Championship. The Big East Title earned the Pirates a No 6 seed in the NCAA tourney. Seton Hall makes its first appearance in the big dance in 10 years and will face 11th seeded Gonzaga. The Zags needed to win the West Coast Conference title from St Mary's in order to get their NCAA bid. The win left St Mary's on the outside looking in. Seton Hall has won 12 of their last 14 games S/U and is 14-3 ATS their last 17 games. Gonzaga has won five in a row, both S/U and ATS. However, this is not the same Bulldogs team that advanced to the Elite Eight last season. Gonzaga was just 1-3 S/U this year against ranked opponents. Big difference here in the competition these teams have played. Gonzaga had really just St Mary's to contend with in the WCC. However, Seton Hall had to traverse the Big East and some very good teams, including Villanova, Xavier, Providence and Butler. Take Seton Hall.

3/17 09:50 PM EST CB (727) PROVIDENCE VS (728) USC. Take: (727) PROVIDENCE. Reason: The Selection committee must really have a thing for the PAC-12 with the likes of Oregon State and USC getting into the field. USC didn't help it's own cause down the stretch either, going 3-7 over their last 10 games. The Trojans weren't very good to bettors either, going 2-6 ATS their last eight and 5-10 ATS over the last 15 games. Meanwhile, Providence covered its last five games in a row, losing out to Villanova in the Big East Tournament. Providence is a high scoring team and has a legitimate NBA lottery pick on the club in Kris Dunn. I like Providence in this game, as I don't believe USC should even be here. Either way, the winner of this game has North Carolina on deck. Play Providence.

San Diego State had to settle for the NIT after losing in the Mountain West Championship game to Fresno, 68-63. The Aztecs still had an excellent season at 25-9 and many feel the were snubbed by the selection committee in favor of weaker teams. When looking at a matchup like this, you have to take these things into consideration. IUPU Fort Worth had a nice season, finishing 23-9 and coming within one point of that automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Mastadons lost to North Dakota State, 69-68. The Mastadons will make their first ever NIT appearance here tonight. IPFW has a balanced attack with four players averaging in double figures, led by Max Landis and his 19.5 ppg. Motivation has to be a big part of the picture in these "other" tournaments. The Mastadons played a lot of games on the road, going 12-8 this season S/U away from home. They are no stranger to playing in front of hostile crowds. I'm going to take the points here with the Mastadons.

Florida struggled in SEC conference play this season and down the stretch was just 2-5 S/U. Moreover, the Gators really took a bite out of bettors wallets with a 3-9 ATS run to close out the season. North Florida ended the season with a 22-11 S/U record. They only had two games against the spread and split those. The Ospreys played a tough non-conference schedule, with games against Illinois, Louisville, St Louis, LSU, Dayton, Arkansas and VCU. This type of game really helps North Florida more than it does Florda. The Ospreys are vying for the same athletes as the Gators and a win here would give them a little extra recruiting bump. Only 71 miles separate these schools and I look for North Florida to have all the motivational factors in this US-301 rivalry. Take North Florida.

3/12 3:00 PM EST CB (739) CONNECTICUT VS (740) TEMPLE. Take: (740) CBB Situational Game of the Year: Temple. Often difficult during these conference tournaments when teams have to play back-to-back games and sometimes three games in three days. But when you have to endure an overtime the previous day, it can take a toll on the legs. That's just the case here. UConn had to go to FOUR overtimes to dispatch Cincinnati on Friday. That was the equivalent of playing an entire extra half of basketball. Then they turn right around and play today against Temple. Temple has been playing very well, winning four straight and nine of the last 11 games. The Owls had little trouble with South Florida in their opening AAC tourney game on Friday, winning 79-62. The Owls are 19-8 ATS in their last 27 games following a spread win. Temple has beaten the Huskies twice this season and they make it three in a row. The Huskies have to be tired after that marathon game on Friday. I think the oddsmakers have the wrong favorite here and the Huskies are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings. Take Temple.

The Ragin' Cajuns breezed through their quarterfinal game on Friday with an easy win over South Alabama, 90-68. The Cajuns showcased their sharp shooting in that game. ULL is ranked 35th in scoring in the nation with 79.6 ppg average and they also shoot 44.4% from the floor. This club also gets to the charity stripe quite often, averaging 25.6 free throws per game. Arkansas Little Rock might have to shake the cob webs out here, having been off for nine days now. The Trojans were 17-3 S/U in the Sun Belt this season. The Trojans also have a very good defense, ranked 3rd in the nation allowing just 59.8 ppg. This game will be the ULL great offense against the Arkansas LR defense. I think the layoff could hurt the Trojans here though as they might come out a bit flat for this one. I'm going to take the points with Lafayette.
