Michigan State is a young team but there is plenty of talent. They've turned a corner, on a 7-4 SU/ATS run. The Spartans held off Michigan 70-62 on January 29 before downing Nebraska 72-61 on Tuesday to notch back-to-back wins. Freshman sensation Miles Bridges, who was named one of the 10 finalists for the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award, scored 16 points in the win against Nebraska to finish in double figures for the sixth consecutive game. The Spartans are ranked 10th nationally in assists per game (17.5) and are 18-6 ATS in Big 10 play. Michigan's postseason dreams are hanging by a thread after dropping back-to-back games, most recently a disappointing 70-66 home loss to Ohio State on Saturday. The Wolverines are on a 3-8 ATS run, 4-11 ATS in Big 10 play and 3-12 ATS against a team with a winning straight up record. Michigan State has won the last two meetings in Ann Arbor by an average margin of 14.5 points. Play Michigan State.

The ACC is packed with powerhouse teams, and tonight two of those clubs matchup on ESPN. Louisville has won three straight and seven of the last eight. The Cardinals have also covered six straight. Virginia is looking to bounce back after a road loss to Syracuse, 66-62. The Cavaliers have won six of eight both S/U and ATS. Virginia has owned this Louisville club, winning four of the last five meetings. The Cavalier defense has stymied the Cardinals, holding them fewer than 60 points since in all five games since joining the conference. This looks to be a very good game, but I'm sticking with the Cavs here against a Louisville team they have handled quite well.

Senior point guard Monte Morris (16 points, Big-12 leading 5.6 assists per game) leads the way and the Cyclones are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a road underdog. In the last 10 days, Kansas was knocked off in Morgantown by West Virginia but rebounded with a road win over then-No. 4 Kentucky and a home triumph over then-No. 5 Baylor in a battle for the top spot in the Big 12 Conference. However, during this period, sophomore forward Carlton Bragg Jr. was suspended indefinitely and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and several players were listed as witnesses for an alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl in the dorm that houses the Jayhawks' basketball team. On Wednesday, Jackson and reserve guard Lagerald Vick were identified as persons of interest in an alleged felony vandalism of a car on Dec. 9 whose owner was likely a victim of an assault by Vick in 2015.
