Miami (5-10) is a mess, poorly coached with players bickering on the field and the sidelines. The Dolphins are on a 5-16 ATS run, plus 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games. New England can lock up the No. 1 seed in the AFC, which is something Bill Belichick always strives for. The Patriots are 36-16-1 ATS in their last 53 games following a straight up loss. Junior wideout Bralon Addison caught 58 passes for 775 yards and 10 touchdowns, while big-play sophomore Darren Carrington averaged 20.1 yards per catch and had five touchdowns in six games after returning from an NCAA suspension for failing a drug test prior to last season's College Football Playoff title game. Senior defensive end DeForest Buckner is the star of the defense with 16 tackles for losses (including 9.5 sacks) with senior linebacker Tyson Coleman (10 tackles for losses), senior inside linebacker Joe Walker (team-best 82 tackles) and sophomore strong safety Tyree Robinson (team-high three interceptions) also being key figures. Arkansas will control the clock with its running game, which averages 192.6 yards, while Kansas State's run defense allows 159.4 yards on the ground. 01/01 05:00 PM ESt CF (269) IOWA VS (270) STANFORD Take: (269) Inner Circle: Iowa. Stanford has the dynamic Heisman candidate in RB Christian McCaffrey (1,847 yards, 5.8 ypc), but Iowa has a huge edge defensively and a fine, balanced offense. (12-1) Iowa is a dog but has one of the best defensive in the nation. The defense is 21st in yards allowed, 13th in scoring (18.5 ppg) and 11th rush defense (114.9 yds pg). Iowa is 14-3 ATS away from home and 5-2 ATS in bowls. Kirk Ferentz wanted his players to get a mental break after a grueling season that included seven games decided by nine points or less. So, the coaching staff took it easy on the Hawkeyes at the outset of bowl preparations so they could arrive in Los Angeles as fresh as possible. Ferentz will cap his 17th season at Iowa with his first Rose Bowl appearance as a head coach. Stanford lost its top defensive players from last season and the D gave up 36 to Notre Dame, 38 to Oregon, 35 to UCLA and 31 to USC. Play Iowa!

01/01 1:00 PM EST CF (265) FLORIDA VS (266) MICHIGAN Take: (266) MICHIGAN. Reason: Both teams have powerhouse defenses but only one has a QB, and that's Michigan. Florida's offense has sputtered without suspended quarterback Will Grier as the Gators were held to 17 points in their last two games, and couldn't manage an offensive score in the 27-2 setback to Florida State on Nov. 28. Michigan's Jake Rudock suffered a shoulder injury in the 42-13 loss to Ohio State, and it was initially feared that he would miss the bowl game, but the senior quarterback will make his final collegiate start on New Year's Day. Rudock struggled with the command of a new offense after transferring from Iowa before ending the season on a tear by throwing for 1,296 yards and 11 touchdowns in his last four games. Jake Butt and Jourdan Lewis announced they will return for the senior seasons after the junior tight end caught 48 passes for 620 yards and three touchdowns, while the junior cornerback was ranked third nationally with 19 pass breakups. The Wolverines are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss. Play (266) MICHIGAN.

Northwestern opened as the dog but there is a huge different between the defenses here, as Northwestern is dominant while Tennessee has been poor on defense the last two seasons. The Wildcats finished the regular season with five consecutive victories and go for a school-record 11th. The Wildcats are 9-4 ATS on grass and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Bowl games. The Wildcats' defense allowed an average of 14 points the last four games, led by sophomore linebacker Anthony Walker and senior defensive lineman Deonte Gibson. Walker, who was named to the Big Ten first team, has 113 tackles, 19.5 for loss, this season and Gibson boasts nine sacks. Tennessee is 6-17-1 ATS following a spread cover and Volunteers are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up win of more than 20 points. Play Northwestern!

A 12-1 Michigan State team is a big dog and all this team has done the last four years is win, on a 41-4 run since late 2012. Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook said his sprained throwing shoulder is improving and will be close to 100 percent New Year's Eve. Cook has a 34-4 career mark as a starter, has thrown a school-record 71 career touchdown passes and ranks second in passing yards (8,984). The Spartans are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 neutral site games, 4-0 ATS in bowl games. The Spartans allow 20.5 points per game with senior defensive end Shilique Calhoun (10.5 sacks) leading the way while sophomore nose tackle Malik McDowell (12 tackles for losses) and junior middle linebacker Riley Bullough (team-most 95 tackles) are also standout players. Early start here on Monday for the Military Bowl between Pitt and Navy. Bowl games always a bit tough on these teams as they usually have long layoffs between their final game and the Bowl game. Pitt played just over a month ago, losing their final game to Miami-Florida, 29-24. Today's game will feature the Pitt rush defense against the Navy triple option attack. Both clubs are rushing attack teams, so I expect a lower scoring contest here on Monday. The last triple option team that Pitt faced was Georgia Tech, back on November 17th. The Panthers won that game 31-28. The Panther's rush defense was ranked 19th in the country with just 126.1 ypg allowed. Navy gets a bit of home field here with this game in Annapolis, MD. Navy is pretty much a rush team, behind their 319 ypg rushing (3rd in the country). Expect a lot of ground and pound in today's game. I like the points here even with the game in Navy's backyard. Take Pittsburgh.

If the Eagles beat the Redskins, they can win their second NFC East title in three years with a win the following week against the New York Giants. The Eagles are 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games after allowing more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game. The Eagles are dealing with a lot of defensive injuries, so covering DeSean Jackson is going to be an issue. The Eagles finished Sunday's loss with E.J. Losing to Green Bay at home on the miracle TD tore the life out of them, off a 21-14 loss at the Rams as a favorite. That defeat officially ousted Detroit from postseason contention. Detroit is 28th in the NFL defensively in points allowed (25.8 ppg) and faces a high octane Saints offense on Monday night, a national TV game. The Lions are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games, including 10-24-1 ATS away against a team with a losing home record. New Orleans is still playing hard, nearly knocking off unbeaten Carolina in their last home game, 41-38, and coming off a 24-17 win at Tampa as a dog. New Orleans is fourth in the NFL offensively in yards and 11th in points behind QB Drew Brees (25 TDs, 11 INTs) and the Saints have scored 62 the last two weeks. The Saints are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 Monday games and are 5-0 ATS against the Lions. Detroit placed tight end Brandon Pettigrew on injured reserve this week after he tore his ACL against St. Louis. South Florida has covered four straight games, including straight up wins over Cincinnati (65-27) and a very good Temple team, 44-23. The Bulls are 40th in scoring (33.5 ppg) and 42nd in total yards. The defense is better than Western Kentucky, as they are ranked 23rd in the country in points allowed (21.1) and 37th in yards per game. It has backfired two games in row in a 30-24 collapse at Denver and Sunday's 35-28 home loss to the 5-7 Eagles, blowing a pair of 14-point leads each time. They are just not the same without Rob Gronkowski, WR Julian Edleman, T Nate Solder and LB Donta Hightower. Houston is off a loss at Buffalo but is still on a 4-1 SU/ATS run back in the playoff race. 29-year old QB Bryan Hoyer (18 TDs, 6 picks) has been sharp with the team 4-2 at home. WR Antonio Brown caught eight passes for 118 yards and two scores and added a 71-yard punt return for a touchdown in the final minutes for the Steelers (7-5). 12/07 08:30 PM EST NFL (379) DALLAS COWBOYS VS (380) WASHINGTON REDSKINS (11/30 02:39 PM) Take: (380) Washington. The Washington Redskins suddenly are in the NFC East race with this big win this past weekend over the NY Giants, 20-14. Washington led 20-0, but had to hold off a Giants rally to win. The Skins can solidify their hold on the East title and they see it within their grasp now. The struggling Dallas Cowboys visit this week and they have to be deflated after last week's pathetic performance. They lost QB Tony Romo for the rest of the season as he re-injured his shoulder. Romo threw two pick-six INTs in the game and was hit hard all day long by the undefeated Panthers. The Cowboys are done and that will show this week in Washington. Meanwhile, the Skins have been solid at home, going 5-1 S/U and 4-2 ATS. Kirk Cousins has been very good, posting a 114.4 rating against the Giants. FedEx field has been good to the Redskins this year and I look for that to continue here on Monday Night. The defense has been playing great and that will be bad news for a dejected Dallas team. Pittsburgh may be home but they have a terrible defense and a QB battling a concussion, a big favorite. The talented Colts' offense is town with QB Matt Hasselbeck. The Colts are 4-0 his last four starts after guiding Indianapolis to a 25-12 win over Tampa Bay last week. Hasselbeck capped a 315-yard performance by tossing a pair of second-half touchdown passes to T.Y. Hilton as Indianapolis rallied to remain in contention for the division title. Indy has a winning record on the road and is on a 4-0 ATS run. The Colts are also 21-10-1 ATS against the AFC. Pittsburgh's pass defense will struggle against the Colts, surrendering 283.6 yards per game, 30th in the NFL. It let them down last week allowing three fourth-quarter scoring passes to Seattle in a 39-30 defeat, part of a 1-4 spread run. And the underdog is 4-0 ATS in their last four meetings. Both of these clubs can't wait for the season to end after disastrous campaigns. The Ravens (3-7) lost QB Joe Flacco for the rest of the season last week with a torn ACL. The Ravens are also without RB Justin Forsett, who also left last week and is done for the season with a broken arm. This will be the first time since 2007 that the Ravens have to turn to a new signal caller and that will be Kyle Boller. On the other side, much troubled Johnny Manziel likely would have started, but off-field troubles resulted in his benching tonight. That means Josh McCown is back in the driver seat for the Browns. And don't forget that the Ravens already lost WR Steve Smith earlier in the season. That means that their three skill positions, WR, QB and RB area all missing their top starters. The Browns merry go round at QB continues tonight as Josh McCown is back at the helm. Johnny Manziel let his partying ways get him benched for this contest. McCown is competent and should be able to move the ball tonight. But this play is as much against the Ravens. I'm not sure how Baltimore will score. They already saw their drives stalling left and right, and that was with Flacco and Forsett in the lineup. Browns should win this one easily. Take Cleveland.

The Falcons had their seven game winning streak snapped last week against Toledo, 44-28. Ball State will not be playing in a bowl game as they are just 3-8 on the season and 5th in the MAC West. The Cardinals have lost two straight and seven of their last eight. They have been outscored 102-38 in their last two games. Bowling Green has the fifth ranked offense in the country, averaging 565.1 ypg. Compare that to just 381.4 ypg by the Cardinals. The Falcons usually beat up on these weak opponents, covering 13 of the last 17 against a team with a losing record. Big difference in quality of these clubs tonight. Jameis Winston shrugged off a pair of interceptions, and scored a go-ahead one-yard scramble with 54 seconds left in regulation to hand the Tampa Bay Buccaneers their fourth win this season. It was Winston's fourth rushing touchdown of the season as he has demonstrated skills in and out of the pocket. Winston threw for 264 yards, leading the Bucs to their third win in the past five games. Wide receiver Mike Evans was the most productive of Tampa Bay's receiving corps, catching eight passes for a game-high 126 yards. It was his third game with over 120 yards receiving in his past four contests. The Bucs have a couple of solid pass rushers on the other side of the ball as well. Defensive linemen Jacquies Smith and Gerald McCoy lead the team with five and 4.5 sacks respectively. The two should be able to pressure either Eagles quarterback, be it Mark Sanchez or Sam Bradford, into some crucial mistakes. The Buccaneers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games, 20-7 ATS in November. Philly has done a bit better against the spread, covering four of their 10 games. The defense is a big issue, allowing over 100 points in seven of 10 games. Dallas started slowly, winning just three of its first seven games. However, the Mavs have won three straight games, including a 12 point win in their last game at Houston. And Peyton Manning threw 2 more picks, bringing his ugly 2015 season to 9 TDs, 13 picks. Rested Kansas City is in town, blowing a game to Denver at home earlier in the season, a contest where they outplayed the Broncos almost all the way. Play the KC Chiefs.

They've been terrible on defense all year and the interim coach looks over his head on a two-game spiral, losing by 29 and 16 points! They face Chip Kelly's no-huddle offense that is up to No. 10 in the NFL in rushing and 13th in points with 24.1 pg. DeMarco Murray put Philadelphia in position to win in his return to Dallas. 11/14 08:00 PM ESt CF (187) OKLAHOMA VS (188) BAYLOR Take: (188) Big 12 Showdown Game of the Month: Baylor. It's tough to trust Bob Stoops in big road games -- and this is huge. Oklahoma had a showdown with Texas last month and as a double digit favorite lost straight up. That's the same Texas team that then got shut out by Iowa State, 24-0. Baylor (8-0) is no ordinary team, one with NFL talent at wide receiver in Corey Coleman (1,178 yds, 20.3 ypc) and soph K.D. Cannon (487 yds, 15.9 ypc) and in the backfield with RB Shock Lockwood (1,046 yards, 7.7 ypc). They've been forced to go with freshman QB Jarrett Stidham (9 TDs, 0 INTs) because of an injury to Seth Russell, but Stidham was a blue chip prospect and has played like it. Baylor can pass with all that speed but don't forget they average 308 yards rushing, No. 5 in the nation. Baylor is 26-7 ATS at home, 20-8 ATS vs a winning team and 23-11-1 ATS in Big 12 play. No. 15 Oklahoma led 14-3 at home in last year's meeting, then Baylor scored 45 straight points in a 48-14 rout. Baylor is 4-0 ATS last four meetings and will roll again. Play Baylor!

They run into a terrific Indiana offense with speed, giving unbeaten Iowa a go last week, putting up over 400 yards on the Great Hawkeye defense in a close one. Indiana lost its fifth straight game after dropping a 35-27 decision to fifth-ranked Iowa. Nate Sudfeld set a new program record when he threw the 49th touchdown pass of his career in the loss to Iowa and he will be one of the players honored on Senior Day at Memorial Stadium. Sudfeld leads the Big Ten with 278.6 passing yards per game. The Hoosiers are 11-3-1 ATS in their last 15 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Arkansas State is 5-0 in Sun Belt Conference play and took sole possession of first place last week with a 40-27 victory at Appalachian State, putting it in a position to control its own destiny in the league race with three regular-season games remaining. The Red Wolves are 23-11-1 ATS in their last 35 conference games. UL Monroe is a mess at 1-8. ULM?has dropped its last seven outings after knocking off Nicholls State 47-0 on Sept. 12. Bowling Green is getting too much respect from oddsmakers in this tough road game. The Falcons are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game. Western Michigan is 5-0 in the MAC and will probably face BG in the MAC title game. First-place Western Michigan has three tough games still ahead vs. Bowling Green, Northern Illinois and Toledo. Junior quarterback Zach Terrell continued his climb up the charts as one of the best players in the MAC and one of the all-time greats at Western Michigan. He has 23 this season, good for second in the MAC and 10th in the country. He now has 57 for his career, good for fourth in program history. The Broncos are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games overall, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games. The Chippewas are 5-4 overall with a three-game winning streak and are coming off a bye, while Toledo (7-1) was undefeated and ranked 20th nationally before losing 32-27 to Northern Illinois last Tuesday. Toledo hasn't played many road games and the Rockets are 0-4-1 ATS following a loss. The Chippewas defense should give Toledo a run for its money. CMU leads the MAC in fewest total yards allowed per game (317) and fewest passing yards allowed per game (182). CMU has allowed only one 100-yard receiver and two 100-yard rushers. The San Diego Chargers will have to make up for some key offensive player losses moving forward. The Chargers (2-6) lost WR Keenan Allen last week with a lacerated kidney and placed RB Branden Oliver on season ending IR with a toe injury. The offensive line has also undergone changes with three starters all dealing with injuries. The Chicago Bears haven't had much better luck, as they bring a 2-5 record into tonight's matchup. The Bears will be without their workhorse RB Matt Forte, who hurt his knee last week against Minnesota. The Bears do have one of the better passing defenses, ranked 6th in the league in yards (220 ypg). However, Chicago is allowing a 32nd worst 29.88 ppg. The Chargers have the league's top rated passing offense, with a 346.5 ypg average. They will likely need it tonight with Oliver out and an anemic rushing attack that manages just 86.5 ypg. The Chargers have not been a good home team, covering just one of their last nine at Qualcomm Stadium. Both teams have struggled, but at least the Bears have been very competitive in their losses. Atlanta racked up a season-high 496 yards last week, including a season-best 395 through the air, and the Falcons are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games on grass. The 49ers have had other problems on offense -- they haven't committed a turnover in four games but totaled only 331 yards and nine points in consecutive lopsided losses. The offensive woes have led to a number of changes, as Blaine Gabbert will replace Colin Kaepernick as the starting quarterback Sunday without the services of tight end Vernon Davis, who was traded to Denver this week. San Francisco ranks 28th in total defense and has forced only eight turnovers all season. The 49ers are on a 3-10-1 ATS run and 0-6-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. They shut down Bama a year ago, blowing a late lead in a wild 20-13 Bama win in OT. Neither team had many yards and this shapes up as another close one. The Washington Huskies have one of the better defenses in the Pac-12 -- allowing just 3.2 yards per rush -- and will be gunning to slow down Devante Booker. Washington is coming off a 49-3 victory over Arizona that easily rates as its top performance of the season. Quarterback Jake Browning returned from a one-game absence due to a shoulder injury to notch one of his best performances of the season against Arizona with 263 yards and a season-best four passing touchdowns plus one running score. Browning and fellow freshman Myles Gaskin (655 rushing yards, six touchdowns) represent the future for a team that is currently more fearsome on the defensive side. The Huskies allow 16.9 points per game and have a trio of solid players in senior outside linebacker Travis Feeney (conference-leading 6.5 sacks), sophomore inside linebacker Azeem Victor (team-best 64 tackles) and junior cornerback Kevin King (team-high three interceptions).
