It was Arizona who came away with the Pac 10 regular season title, but the oddsmakers have installed Washington as a three point favorite to win the Pac 10 Tournament finale in Los Angeles tonight. Both of these teams have been a little inconsistent away from home this year. Both teams have a ton of athleticism, and I fully expect this to be a great game to watch!
Washington is led by their sensation point guard, Isaiah Thomas. Thomas has become a much better player this year because of his passing ability. He can get to the rim almost anytime, and he is great at kicking it out to open jump shooters. The Huskies have nine guys that average at least 15 minutes per game, so depth isn’t an issue for Washington. They are at their best when they are creating easy buckets out of their pressure defense.
Arizona is led by super sophomore Derrick Williams. Williams is averaging 19 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this year. Williams had 26 and 11 the last time the Wildcats squared off against the Huskies. Arizona shoots the three-ball very well. The Wildcats have hit 40.2% of their three-point attempts this year, which is eighth best in the nation. The Wildcats are very good on the boards, and they like to create opportunities in transition as well.
Free Pick: I think if you are looking for some value, the Arizona moneyline is a good way to go here. Washington is a very good team, but they are extremely streaky. I think Derrick Williams will be the best player on the floor, and if he stays out of foul trouble the Wildcats have a solid shot here.
