020307 5* Cornell (878) over Brown @ 7:00 Eastern The inconsistent Bears travel tonight knowing they are 5-2 L7 SU in the series. Cornell brings a 6-13 mark on the season 2-2 SU in the Ivies. Brown has a more effective 10-10 record win a 1-3 SU record in conference. In the floor match-up the Big Red brings four key scorers and game changers, the Bears just three. The critical fundamental stat here is the ineffective road defense (80.4) of Brown. Technically, the Big Red is 3-1-1 ATS in the Ivies and 4-1 ATS at home versus a road unit with under >.400 winning mark away. The Bears are 2-6 L8 as a road underdog, while Cornell shows 12-4-2 ATS vs. Brown in the overall series. Should be a surprising blowout. Good Luck.

020117 10* UMass+ (539) over LaSalle @ 7:00 Eastern LaSalle may not have guard Powell and his 13.4 points per game in the lineup tonight, but they should win, covering might be a whole another story. Granted this is double revenge for the struggling Explorers who are playing without guard Powell (13.4), while losing three straight. Clearly, they do possess the emotional edge and natural home floor advantages. However, the Minutemen have the better guard combination with Clark and Pipkins and might feed on the LaSalle forgiving arc defense. Granted it will be difficult stopping forward Price of LaSalle at home, but we just can’t trust coach “G” laying points. Remember, LaSalle is 7-15-2 ATS as a chalk with UM covering the last 6-of-8 overall as the underdog. In closing, back UMass who is 6-1 ATS in the series. Good Luck.

4* (763) Manhattan+ over Fairfield @ 7:00 Eastern Eastern Edge Key Release…BDS We jumped back into action after a huge winner on Rider as our 5* MAAC game of the week. Here the visiting Jaspers look to extract a measure of revenge after losing back-to-back games to Fairfield in 2016 and 2017. Manhattan shows off a 78-64 loss to Canisius, while the Stags come in after beating Marist 72-62. Clearly, this is a classic letdown spot for Fairfield. Manhattan is 15-7-1 ATS as a road dog in this price range, while the underdog is 5-1 ATS in this series. Fairfield has horrid numbers as a home chalk and boards tonight with a perfect 0-4 ATS record in this price range. Good Luck.

013017 5* Rider (531) over Canisius @ 7:00 Eastern MAAC GAME OF THE WEEK….BDS Obviously 13-9 Griffs have the better offense as they showed in the recent 78-64 win over Manhattan. In that game forward Phil Valenti (22) was the key cog in out pointing the Jaspers. He now has back-to-back doubles. Canisius had lost three straight prior to that win, while visiting Rider comes in after dropping a rough 80-67 battle to Niagara. No doubt the Broncos struggle on the offensive end, but the Griffs bring the #322 scoring defense to floor this evening. In their last meeting (2016) Canisius won out in a hard-fought win 67-61. Although the Griffs should win this SU, believe the points are the play. Remember, Rider has covered 5-of-7 in the series, and are in a “must” win situation coming off back-to-back losses. Good Luck.

4* Atlanta -3 not higher, over Washington Realize the Wizards (25-20) have more talent and defeated the once inconsistent Hawks (27-19) last time out in November 95-92. Still, we like our chances with the chalk considering the site and the emotional angle. Atlanta has defeated Washington 3-of-4 on this floor. Back in October the Hawks defeated a highly charged Washington club 114-89, and the club has played outstanding hoops of late. Atlanta has been solid with one day of rest going 6-2 ATS and show 4-0 ATS vs. a unit with a losing road record. Good Luck.

(701) 5* Boston (Pick) over Washington @ 7:05 Eastern No doubt a complex puzzle when Boston (26-17) visits Washington (24-20), especially considering the Wizards played and won last night over Charlotte 109-99. They now have to face hated Boston in most likely another brawl fest but, this time on their home floor. When you look at current form and the Wizards, you must give great respect to their 13 straight wins at home. In addition, the Celtics will once again be playing without guard Bradley which has caused some floor inconsistency with Smart as a replacement as his outside shooting has been horrid. Rozier surprisingly has picked up some of the slack from the critical scoring standpoint (i.e., last time out). Still Bradley’s overall play is missed. Boston has lost back-to-back games SU so, this is a critical set knowing a long losing streak will hurt division chances. The Celts show off a rough 4-point loss to the talented Blazers in OT. However, technically they come 7-1-2 ATS on the road and have been successful versus .600 home teams of late. The Celtics have covered 5-of-6 in the series and 7-of-10 overall. Washington lost the last battle in the series 117-108, while shooting 42.9% so it’s critical for the home team to stay away from the physical side of the game, because Boston in that encounter caught their “D” over aggressive leaving open spots on the floor. Yes, Washington has emotion, the home floor and the fact they sit three games behind the Celtics in the division. But, the Celtics are the play considering they have a few key one-on-one floor advantages and they are rested. Remember, the important tech tonight is the Washington horrid 5-12 ATS mark playing without rest. The chalk in the series has banked 6-of-7. Good Luck.

(736) 5* Maryland over Rutgers @ 7:00 Eastern With the Scarlet Knights (12-8) finally showing off a big win, doubt they’ll have anything late in this encounter allowing for a spread win for the home standing Terps (17-2). Especially, when you consider the visitor is 7-19 ATS on the road suffering some tough losses against quality teams. The critical factor here is the Scarlet Knights can’t spread out the Terps defense with their 28.5% from three. This will put so much pressure on the wings and inside game for Rutgers in a difficult setting. Maryland has gone 10-1 SU and need only to pack in their defense here for a nice 14-15 point win. Good Luck.

5* Brown+7-1/2 over Yale.... Clinical type look will not help, seemingly, help the lesser Bears who have issues on the defensive perimeter. In fact, the Eli 40-16-2 on Friday and 24-3 ATS as a road chalk looks bad for the home- standing Bears. However, we must note Yale is still without Mason and shows off a dishearting loss to Princeton. They are lesser of unit road wise this season averaging under 68 points in 9 visiting efforts. Brown is averaging over 77 points overall while being at home in 0-4 revenge after being CRUSHED by 24 last season by the Bulldogs. The Bears with revenge and the home (6-2 ATS) court should make this a tough outing for the Eli. A close call, so we'll bank the points in classic Ivy League barn burner.

But, we like to point SBA has a major conference and program game next up against St. Joseph’s. So, we expect, somewhat of a letdown after their 73-53 bounce back win over Fordham, alas the Richmond debacle. Remember, the additional key here is the availability of guard Adams (SBA) who has been injured off and on the last two years. No matter, we prefer the Bills being at home off a positive outing and win at George Mason. Clearly this is a bigger game for the home standing unit who will be desperately trying to extract a measure of revenge. STL has 5-of-7 vs. A-10 units and ditto against winning road units. Marquette is 12-5 and still trying to overcome the stress of losing their best player to the NBA draft, looks to pull a major surprise this afternoon in an early start. This is a major revenge situation, however, for the Warriors after being thoroughly thrashed on this same floor last season in March by a 95-74 score. Critical will be the defensive end of the floor vying for each position. Series techs all point to Butler and the line has been subjected to the compilations, but I still like our chances with a real spirited unit from Milwaukee who will not give up this time around and take this to the wire, physical war on-deck. Good Luck.

However, the road unit here is 12-3-1 ATS series wide and the Rams are 8-0 SU at home and could be looking past the Explorers who they beat twice last season 79-62 and 73-62. LaSalle major deficit on the road this season was at GTown dropping a 93-78 decision in a game the Hoyas came out on fire, finishing with over a 50% FG mark. With LaSalle winning against two also-rans in BB games, feel they should have enough "MO" to keep this close. Good Luck.

5* TORONTO -7 or less... Raps 7-0 ATS on the road and 6-0 ATS with just 2 days rest. Further, inconsistent Portland 0-5 ATS last five times out. And, if this was a home game for Toronto this would be a 10* move. Oh, the road unit here is 5-1 ATS in the series. GL.

5* Green Bay (112) over Minnesota @ 1:00 Eastern Xmas eve and we’re loaded with football to say the least. Arch rival Minny travels to GB where they are 2-5 ATS L7 times out. Granted the underdog has been the recent side but, the line is telling us something from the math and power rating standpoint. Minnesota, after a solid start this season has fallen on hard times dropping seven of the last nine and punishing their backers. The Vikings are #3 rated unit in total defense, so they should have some success containing Rodgers but, not at this price with so much at stake. The Vikings are 1-4 ATS L5 on the road, while GB is 7-2 ATS during December. Further, the Packers complete with a 4-1 ATS mark on Saturday and 6-2 ATS in week #16. These are strong indicators they finish strong in the money column and the improved should help the Packers here.

Here we go again with the Bears, as I have been looking for spots to play the unit. Now that former Eagles QB Barkley has started the improve, feel the Bears are in a nice spot to catch the 'Skins napping. Remember, Washington is 0-4 ATS after a DD loss at home. Traveling the next week surely helps our cause. In fact, they are 0-5 ATS in this price range. If you haven't noticed Chicago is an amazing 5-0 ATS as a home underdog in their building this season. With week #16 in mind, BEARS!
