I thought it was time for another free pick here on this great Saturday before the start of the football season. The MLB action is heating up and the playoff races are tightening up. Let’s take a closer look at this MLB free pick for tonight!
Arizona Diamondbacks at San Francisco Giants- I really like the over in this game. Barry Zito has been struggling mightily of late and the Diamondbacks are a solid hitting team. The Diamondbacks are actually a much better team against left handed starters, so that helps our cause in this one. On the other side, Daniel Hudson is the starting pitcher for the Diamondbacks. There is no doubt that Hudson has been terrific in Arizona thus far with a 1.72 ERA. I believe Hudson is solid, but not spectacular, and he is due for a bit of a rough outing. The Giants offense has scored 38 runs in the last four games, so I think they have a nice chance of getting to Hudson in this one. Even if they simply make him work, getting to the Arizona bullpen is a huge help for bettors on the over! The wind will be blowing straight out to center this evening in San Francisco and most weather reports put the estimated wind speed at about 15 mph, which should be very helpful. The number is set at just 7.5, which certainly seems too low in this case!
