Bottom line here is we literally have the best team in football (Eagles) against the worst team in football from last year (Browns) and the worst team is favored. The Eagles have absolutely nothing to play for and don't want to risk any injuries, especially to their two QBs that are currently banged up already.

40* NFL Network TOP PLAY Los Angeles Chargers -3.5 Long term subscribers are probably sick of hearing this by now but the NFL Preseason is about motivation and coaching. The Saints probably care the least of any team in the NFL during the preseason, having lost 10 straight. On the other side, you have the Chargers who have a big point to prove tonight. It's really hard to do in the preseason, but the Chargers got EMBARASSED last week against the Seahawks. The Chargers really need to give L.A. something to get excited about this week. First year coach, Anthony Lynn, will have to answer a lot of questions if they lay another egg. I expect an inspired performance from the Chargers Sunday night, while the Saints do what they always do and take it easy.

50* NFL Preseason MAX BET Atlanta Falcons -110 I see that this line has jumped up a lot. I know most hate laying this kind of juice it's at now in the NFL or NBA but this is the NFL Preseason. Games too often end by 1 or 2 points because teams refuse to tie. I love having the Falcons just to win here. Coaching and motivation are the two main keys of the NFL Preseason. Both those factors are heavily on the Falcons side tonight. The Falcons last two memories of football games are blowing big leads late. Obviously they did in the Super Bowl but they did last week against the Dolphins also. I expect the Falcons to give a big effort here to get that bad taste out of their mouth. The Steelers and Tomlin have been known to care less about the preseason. They did win last game but that was smoke and mirrors due to several deep turnovers. In the last 5 seasons, the Steelers have won just 3 preseason games.

40* NFLX GAME OF THE WEEK Philadelphia Eagles -4 I probably sound like a broken record by now but my recipe for success in the preseason is 3 factors. You look at the coaching, the back up QBs, and motivation. Well the Eagles have the advantage in all three tonight. Coach Doug Pederson has shown he wants to win in the preseason. He went 4-0 last season but lost his first game this year, albeit on the road. It'll be a good spot to back him tonight as I expect him to want to put on a show for the home fans to build excitement for the new season and to bounce back from the loss last week. Jeffery and Darby are expect to suit up as well. The Buffalo Bills are a train wreck. They have zero offense. I don't think Tyrod Taylor is a good QB, so that should tell you about how talented their back ups are in Buffalo.

40* NFLX TOTAL OF THE WEEK Oakland Raiders vs. Arizona Cardinals OVER 40 We have two teams that love to go over the total in the preseason. The Raiders are 5-1 to the over and the Cardinals are 8-1. Another key here is the QB rotations. These quarterbacks are vets and they should be able to move the ball and sustain drives against sloppy defending. The Cardinals also have a game already under their belt so they should improve on the offensive end.

20* Cowboys v. Rams BEST BET Los Angeles Rams +3 Like we've mentioned before, NFL Preseason comes down to motivation, coaching, and the back up QBs. This pick is just like our 49ers play last night. We have a coach that doesn't care about the Preseason (Garrett is 3-10 SU his last 13) with a team that has nothing to prove. Now they have the added distraction of the Elliott suspension and I can see the Boys just going through the motions tonight. The Rams are breaking in the new regime with a 1st year head coach in McVay. This game means more to Los Angeles. We also are catching points at home, which is just an added bonus.

30* San Francisco 49ers +5 This is just too many points. Handicapping the NFL preseason basically comes down to 3 things. Motivation, Coaches, and the back up QBs. Typically the "bad" teams do well in the preseason and the "great" teams do awful. That's what we have here. Motivation should be high tonight for SF as they are breaking in a new regime and 1st year coaches have a lot to prove. Andy Reid and the Chiefs have absolutely nothing to prove. Reid has gone 9-10 S.U. in Week 1 of the Preseason and we're GETTING 5 points.

Mike Tomlin is also 5-16 to the under when listed as an underdog in the preseason.

They are 0-2 and have already lost 1 home game this preseason. Team's do NOT want to 0-4 and 0-2 at home in the preseason. This game means much more to the Jags than the Bengals. The Bengals come off a dominating performance against the Lions last week so I expect them to "take it easy" so to speak. There's a reason the Jags are favored here folks. The public is all over the dog and I almost always looks to fade the masses when they're on the dog because typically, the public like the favorite (hence, why they're the favorite.)

4* NFLX TOP DOG Tennessee Titans +3.5 Staying with the theme of taking the points. I don't think the Raiders are good enough to lay points in the pre-season, let alone over a field goal. Getting 3.5 here is a must bet. No one is going to Oakland games. They don't have a home field advantage for the preseason. I believe the key to this game is the rushing attack. Tennessee clearly has the edge in that department. Even though Carolina took it to them last week, they were able to rush the ball well against the best front 7 in the league. They should have a field day against the Raiders.

So many of these games land on 1 point victories (ties refuse to tie) for either side and there are always back door covers.

3* Kansas City Chiefs +1 KC comes off a gut wrenching loss in Week 1 and St. Louis comes off a crazy comeback at home vs. Dallas. Tremendous spot here to back Andy Reid and fade the Rams coming off their "primetime first home game in LA."
There are a few things you want to look for in Week 2 of the Preseason:
-Mostly just look towards underdogs.
-Back teams that are coming off a loss in Week 1, especially facing a team off a Week 1 win.
-Typically teams that had very poor outings in the 1st week have more to prove and have more of an incentive to win rather than teams that had exceptional outings (in Week 1) that will sit back in the 2nd week and just evaluate lesser talent.

Look for Arizona to bounce back after blowing a 10 point lead and for the Chargers to "take it easy" after their win against Dallas last week. 40* NFLX GAME OF THE WEEK Washington Redskins +2 Yes, both of these teams are horrible, but I believe the Redskins have the advantage because of their QB situation. All three Quarterbacks have had plenty of game action over the past two seasons. We all know about RG3 but he's only expected to play very little in this game. That leaves us with Cousins and McCoy. I can see them having success against the low string guys of the Browns defense. Usually in the preseason, the 2nd and 3rd string guys are total scrubs and can't move the ball down the field to save their lives and the coaches have the just hand the ball off. These two QBs have the confidence to do some damage. Also, I believe Johnny Manziel to be severely overrated and I expect him to have a dreadful game tonight. Redskins should win this game outright.
