DMack's NHL Play of the Day is on the Las Vegas Golden Knights You couldn't find a worse scheduling spot of the Toronto Maple Leafs who basically are playing their third game in 3 1/2 days. The Leafs won 7-4 in Arizona on Thursday, were beat 4-3 in OT at Colorado on Friday, off on Saturday in Las Vegas (yeah right), and back for 12;30 PM matinee vs. a team that is 15-2-1 at home and off since Thursday night. Leafs won 4-3 North of the Border vs. VGK fourth netminder so some aspect of revenge even in play. Line is somewhat puzzling but EVERYONE is waiting for the shoe to drop on VGK. Not here.

Mack Attack NHL Play of the Day is on the Vegas Golden Knights Don't look now but VGK is the top team in the West, tied with 48 points with St Louis and the Kings but with three and four games in hand respectively. The Knights are 8-1-1 L10 and have already beaten the Ducks twice 4-3 in a shoutout and 4-2 on this ice. Anaheim is still battling injuries, 5-5 L10, and 4-3 L7 at home. VGK solid in all aspects and with so many ways to beat you. Even ??? Take it!

The freefalling Coyotes have lost seven straight getting outscored 24-9. They've lost four of five at home. At under 50 cents, it looks almost too good but at this writing, there are no surprises (injuries) so it's all systems go.

Montreal has won the last five in the series and the last two on this ice by a 12-5 aggregate. Getting Price against Anderson at 20 cents makes perfect sense. Montreal.

Add to the mix that the Devils have lost three of four overall and at home and this 20 cent number looks like a gift. Take the Kings.

The home team has won seven of nine in the series but ... that Panthers have lost three straight at home and last three overall. The Jets were embarrassed in Detroit in last and have lost three straight road games but ... are 9-4 L13 overall, 3-1 L4 on this ice and are 8-3 vs. losing records and 7-1 following game where they allowed four or more goals. Jets win!

Columbus has won three straight road games and five of six in the series. The Jackets make their money beating teams like the Canadiens, 10-2 this year vs. losing records. The Habs have five of six games overall and four of six at home. Looking for a reason why this line in this low and can't find anything. Like the Jackets is a low scoring 3-1, 2-0, 3-2 type of game.

DMack's NHL Play of the Day is on the Tampa Bay Lighting There is an old sport betting adage that you don't pay juice when you win and you don't. Tonight we play the best team in the NHL at 14-2-2, 7-1-1 at home, a +25 goal differential and the winner of four straight. Now you'll pay a premium with a team like this but they pay a Dallas Star outfit that is just 3-6-1 on the road and already a 5-1 loser at Carolina and a 4-3 loser at Florida in the last 72 hours. If these two were MLB pitchers with these numbers Tampa Bay would be an easy -200 favorite. Ride the Lightning.

Anaheim with Getzlaf and Kessler for a while which limits Duck scoring punch and puts Anaheim at a distinct disadvantage against the high octane Lightning. thirty-five cents is just about right.
