The Herd crushed a tomato can in its opener and 11-4-1 L16 as a road dog. Boise on the other hand starts new era but 16-34 ATS run on the Blue Turf is long term and can't be ignored. If anything, looking for the Irish offense and QB Book to be significantly better with a year under his belt. Notre Dame won't have to do much heavy lifting to get their 40 here. He'll inherit an offensive line with 100+ starts but was 0-6 vs. the Sooners while at Morgantown. The Cougars have just four defensive starters back to face the new Jalen Hurts era. Oklahoma was hit hard by graduation and will still have quality people but … feeling is that this will be a feeling out game for both teams with Houston trying to establish the run and shorten the games while Oklhoma will lack the quick strike capabilities they had with Baker and Kyler Murray. 83 points is a ton of points and a lot to ask for given the current state of both teams. That said, San Diego State is a tough draw with its unorthodox defense and super savvy coach Rocky Long. SDSU will also have the game breaker on the field with the latest of their long line of excellent backs as you can figure to see Juwan Washington early and often. South Florida was somewhat counterfeit last year and while the Bulls beat up the teams that they should, they rarely compete. Likewise for Oklahoma who will need to establish the run and play defense on offense by running the clock and making sure the OU defense has plenty of time to rest. The Sooner goal is to stay close until late and their best chance of doing that is running the ball and burning clock. We put Oklahoma in the 20s at best making the Over almost impossible to reach and the Under the way to cash a ticket in this game.

Notre Dame's front seven are the best part of the Irish defense and that will be demonstrated here. Baylor is a nice story going from the Art Briles fiasco and one win last year to 6-6 and a bowl game this year BUT ... this game means so much more to a Vandy program looking for it's first winning season and bowl win since 2013. The Dores had to win three of their final four to get bowl eligible and that was against SEC competition as opposed to Baylor who was a bottom half team in a down year for the Big 12. No doubt that Baylor is a team to watch in the future but today belongs to Vandy who don't get many chances to shine like this with four-year starter Kyle Shurmer (yes, those Shurmers) the key.

DMack's SEC Game of the Month is on the LSU Tigers The LSU haters are out again and this time they are hating on the Bayou Bengals on their home field. The Mississippi State defense is a proven commodity but the question here is whether the Landsharks can beat LSU completely devoid of a passing attack. The answer is no. LSU will be on Fitzgerald like white on rice while his counterpart has thrown one bad pass (the pick six late against Florida) the entire season. LSU 26-13.

DMack's Big Ten Game of the Week is on the Iowa Hawkeyes We fear the Turtle but .... not against Iowa's No.3 ranked defense against the run, while the Terp offense is throwing for just 85 yards per with 11 sacks over it's last four games. Hawkeye QB Stanley is red hot and he'll be throwing to one of the best tight ends in college football in Fant. Maryland is just 3-6 L9 as a road dog and is up against it vs. a somewhat underrated home team that generally gets it done against this kind.

DMack's Big 12 Money in the Bank play is on the Oklahoma Sooners This is not a vintage TCU team by any means and the Horned Frogs have struggled to score points with soph QB Robinson calling the shots. That won't cut it against surging Heisman candidate Kyler Murray who will get his regardless. Oklahoma is off a bye and has had two weeks with its new defensive coordinator. Gotta think that Sooners come out focused and rededicated having had time to stew after loss to Texas. The Boomers win big!
