Dayton Flyers vs. Xavier Musketeers College Basketball Betting Lines from Sportsbook.com
NCAA Basketball Betting Favorite: Xavier -7.5
The Flyers will do their best to get a massive monkey off their back today. Amazingly, Dayton has lost 25 straight times in Cincinnati against Xavier. The Flyers play solid defense, but they don’t shoot the basketball very well. If Dayton is going to win this game, they will likely need it to be a low scoring game. Chris Wright is a very talented wing for the Flyers, and he’ll need to produce in a big way today. This is a team that has been improving in the last couple weeks.
Xavier is one of those mid-majors that always seems to be right there in March, but the team has slipped a little this season. The Musketeers have played inconsistently thus far this season. They have a big win over Butler, but they were blown out by Cincinnati and they lost a close one at home to Florida. One of their biggest issues right now is they don’t have much depth at all. Xavier is essentially playing with a seven man rotation. The Musketeers have been solid defensively much of the year, but the offense has been less than stellar.
Free Pick: Dayton +7.5
The Dayton Flyers have had this game circled for quite a while. Xavier has had their number in a big way over the years. Xavier has beaten Dayton 25 straight times in Cincinnati. Xavier is short-handed right now, and I think Dayton will have a big advantage in the depth department. I like the way the Flyers play defense, and I believe their defense and motivation should keep this one very close. This is a game I believe could come down to the final possession, so I like the 7.5 points with the underdog.
