This Saturday may be the most memorable game of the entire NCAA football season. Texas A&M super-quarterback Johnny Manziel (more commonly known as Johnny Football or Johnny Heisman) will lead his team onto the home field in Week 3 against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

This is only the second time Alabama has played at Kyle Field and the first since 1988. The two teams, however, did play last year in Tuscaloosa, with the Aggies giving Alabama their sole loss on the season. Alabama comes in looking for revenge, ranking first overall in both the AP and USA Today polls, while Texas A&M stands sixth in both.

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Texas A&M Aggies College Football Preview

Total: 60

I’m 21-9 in my last 30 plays overall (70% Winners)! It’s been a great start to the college football season. I’ve never had  a losing season in college football, so consistency is the name of the game here. Time for a free college football pick on the Alabama vs. Texas A&M marquee matchup of the weekend!

Alabama

Nick Saban’s team wants to show that they are legitimate National Championship contenders and that last season’s matchup was a fluke. Having had an off-week after defeating Virginia Tech 35-10, they have had time to prepare and show that they can do better than the meager 206 yards they collected against the Hokies. Quarterback AJ McCarron (whose girlfriend Brent Musburger fawned over in the National Championship) has only 110 yards passing and one touchdown, while TJ Yeldon has rushed for seventy-five yards and a TD.

Texas A&M

The story of the Aggies, as it has been for the last year, is the story of their dynamic quarterback Manziel. Coming off a Heisman Trophy win and a Cotton Bowl title, Manziel looks poised to lead his team to new successes, having already thrown for 520 yards and six touchdowns, while rushing for 55 more yards and one touchdown. The Aggies began the season with a pair of wins against Rice and Sam Houston State, beating the two teams by an average score of over eight touchdowns.

Free Pick: Alabama -7.5

Alabama showed some rust in Week 1, but they have had time to prepare and have talent and experience the Aggies can’t match. Texas A&M could get a great performance out of Manziel, however, and play spoiler. Nevertheless, we’ll give the points on this one. Take Alabama for a small play.
