Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Kentucky Wildcats Betting Odds from Sportsbook.com
NCAA Basketball Betting Favorite: Kentucky -8
The Vanderbilt Commodores have had a nice season, but it could have been much better if they had been able to close out games. Vanderbilt is just 5-4 on the road, but they have led late in the game in all four of those losses. In fact, three of their four road losses have come in overtime. The Commodores recently fell at home to Tennessee, but they did bounce back with a win over LSU this past Saturday. This is a Vanderbilt team that has plenty of scoring options. John Jenkins is their main play maker, and he is a great shooter. Jeff Taylor is a guy who can create his own shot at just about any time. Festus Ezeli is a key for this team, because when he is good they are difficult to beat.
The Kentucky Wildcats are once again a young and talented squad. John Callipari’s crew is led by a trio of sensational freshmen. Brandon Knight is the point guard who gets everything started. Knight is the team’s leading scorer, and he shoots better than 40% from beyond the arc. Knight is extremely quick with the basketball, and he is a tough guy to defend. Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb are also freshmen who can light it up for this Wildcats team. Lamb is knocking down nearly 49% of his three-point attempts on the year. Kentucky is unbeaten at home this year, and they will be looking for revenge after this loss at Vanderbilt earlier this year.
Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky NCAA BB Free Pick: Over 147.5
The pace should be very quick in this one, and I expect it to be a competitive game. These two teams put up 158 points in Nashville, and I think they’ll score at least 150 again in this one. I like the value on the over!
