University of Central Florida Knights:

UCF is currently ranked 4th in the American Athletic Conference with a 1-0 record and 4-1 overall. In week 3, the Knights pulled off a stunning 34-31 upset of Penn State before losing the following week in a closely fought battle against South Carolina. The Knights enter Friday night’s game with an impressive 3-0 record on the road.

UCF is ranked 11th in the country defensively and is allowing an average of only 16.6 points per game for a total of 353 yards each game. So far, the team’s defense is led by Junior LB Terrance Plummer who has 40 tackles, 1 sack and two interceptions despite only playing in four games.

On offense, the Knights rank 51st in the NCAA for points scored with 31.8 per game, 39th in passing yards with 270 and 89th for rushing yards with 144 per game. The team is led at QB for Blake Bortles who is completing an impressive 64.8% of his passes for 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. On the ground, the Knights have relied on the strong legs of Storm Johnson who has 7 touchdowns and 455 yards rushing.

Louisville Cardinals:

Ranked #8 in the nation, the Louisville Cardinals remain the favorite to win the American Athletic Conference. Thus far, the Cardinals have yet to allow more than 13 points in any game and have scored at least 30 points in five games. Last week, the Cardinals defeated Rutgers 24-10 in a less than impressive victory.

Defensively, the Cardinals are ranked 1st in the NCAA for points allowed at only 7.3 per game. Even more impressively, the Cardinals are winning their games by an average of 33 points. Louisville only allows 68 yards rushing per game and 230 yards of total offense.

On the offensive side of the ball, Louisville ranks 17th in the nation with 41.0 points per game and 14thfor passing yards with 329.5 yards per game. QB Teddy Bridgewater continues to pad his NFL resume with a 71% completion percentage and 18 touchdowns against only 2 interceptions.

Free Pick: UCF +14.5

UCF is the best team Louisville has faced so far this season. The Knights have a balanced offense that should be able to score points here. Louisville’s defense is good, but they haven’t been up against an offense that can do it all well so far this year. Expect the Knights to keep this one close all the way. Take UCF here.
