04-15-24 | Canadiens v. Red Wings -1.5 | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 16 h 23 m | Show |
5* NHL EASTERN CONF GAME OF THE MONTH The Detroit Red Wings have a shot at making the playoffs despite winning only three of their last 10 games. They are currently in a three-way tie with Washington and Philadelphia for the second and final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, and the Pittsburgh Penguins are lurking just one point behind, so realistically, they'll need to win out to have a chance. Still, with two games to go, both against a Montreal Canadiens team eliminated from playoff contention, the Red Wings must like their chances, and I expect nothing less than 100% focus tonight. The Red Wings are converting on a solid 23.16% of their opportunities to play with a man advantage, while the Habs are killing off only 76.36% of their penalties. I expect the Wings to win one by at least two goals. 5* PLAY ON THE RED WINGS -1.5. |
03-30-24 | Hurricanes -1.5 v. Canadiens | Top | 3-0 | Win | 102 | 20 h 31 m | Show |
5* NHL EASTERN CONF GAME OF THE MONTH This looks like an ideal spot to fade a Montreal Canadiens team coming off three consecutive upset wins. Tonight, they'll face a Carolina Hurricanes team that is as solid as always, and coming off a 4-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings. The Canes are 4-1 SU as road favorites of -200 or more, and all wins came by at least two goals. 5* PLAY ON THE HURRICANES -1.5. |
01-24-24 | Sabres v. Kings -1.5 | Top | 5-3 | Loss | -100 | 24 h 6 m | Show |
MAX BET ALERT: 5* NHL PUCKLINE GAME OF THE MONTH The Los Angeles Kings are 8-6 with a +18% ROI against the puckline as favorites of -180 or longer. I think they'll come out hungry and ready to put a beating on Buffalo after losing in a shootout as close to a -400 favorite against San Jose on Monday. 5* PLAY ON THE KINGS -1.5. |
12-17-23 | Sharks v. Avalanche -1.5 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 19 h 58 m | Show |
5* MAX BET ALERT - MIKE'S NHL PUCKLINE OF THE MONTH Sure, the Colorado Avalanche will be playing on short rest following a 6-2 loss in Winnipeg last night, but I think they'll bounce back with a max effort and rout the Sharks here Sunday night. The Avs are 5-1 on the season off a loss of three goals or more, and while the Sharks have started to pick up wins lately, they're still one of the worst teams in the league and a team the Avs have dominated in recent seasons. 5* PLAY ON THE AVS -1.5. |
11-29-23 | Capitals v. Kings -1.5 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 23 h 13 m | Show |
MIKE'S 4* NHL TOP PLAY OF THE DAY The Los Angeles Kings are coming into this game on a five-game winning streak and they are 9-1 over their last 10. The Kings are 10-4 as favorites this season, and seven of those 10 wins came by at least two goals. The Caps are coming off back-to-back losses, and even the lowly San Jose Sharks beat them on Sunday. I don't think they can keep up with a Kings team that is on a roll. 4* PLAY ON LOS ANGELES KINGS -1.5. |
11-15-23 | Ducks v. Avalanche -1.5 | Top | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 24 h 29 m | Show |
MIKE'S 4* NHL PUCKLINE PLAY OF THE DAY The Colorado Avalanche are coming off a 5-1 win in Seattle. Now they return home to Ball Arena, and I expect max effort again after losing their last two at home as huge favorites (-187 and -223) while getting outscored 12-5. 4* PLAY ON AVALANCHE -1.5. |
11-09-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Avalanche -1.5 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 22 h 18 m | Show |
4* TOP PLAY: MIKE'S NHL PUCKLINE PLAY OF THE DAY The Colorado Avalanche are perfect 4-0 SU at home, and they won all games by at least two goals. The Seattle Kraken are heading to Colorado off consecutive losses, the most recent a 3-2 OT setback in Arizona. The Avs won 4-1 in Seattle on October 17, and I think they'll get another easy win here, now at home. 4* PLAY ON COLORADO AVALANCHE -1.5. |
04-30-23 | Panthers +1.5 v. Bruins | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 13 h 21 m | Show |
MIKE'S 10* NHL PUCKLINE OF THE MONTH Game 7 of this Eastern Conference opening-round matchup, and I think we're getting a really, really good price on the Panthers to cover the puckline. They've shown they can go toe to toe with Boston throughout the series, and while only one of the previous six games were decided by one goal, I expect this to be a close affair. 10* PLAY ON FLORIDA PANTHERS +1.5. |
03-27-23 | Oilers v. Coyotes +1.5 | Top | 5-4 | Win | 115 | 15 h 46 m | Show |
MIKE'S 10* NHL PUCKLINE GAME OF THE YEAR The Coyotes will be playing on 0 days rest after battling the Avs yesterday, but I think they can keep this close. The Oilers are only 4-3 as road favorites of -200 or more and 1-2 as road favorites of -250 or more. Arizona is coming into this game on a four-game losing streak, but all but one of those games were one-goal affairs. The Coyotes are 6-1 in their last 7 home games. 10* PLAY ON ARIZONA COYOTES +1.5. |
03-13-23 | Avalanche v. Canadiens +1.5 | Top | 8-4 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 18 m | Show |
MIKE'S 10* NHL PUCKLINE PLAY OF THE DAY The Habs are 5-6 SU as home underdogs of +200 or more and while they're coming into this game on a six-game losing streak, note that they lost by only one goal in five of those games. 10* PLAY ON MONTREAL CANADIENS +1.5. |
03-09-23 | Rangers v. Canadiens +1.5 | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 13 m | Show |
10* NHL PUCKLINE GAME OF THE YEAR The Habs are 5-4 SU as home underdogs of +200 or more and while they're coming into this game on a four-game losing streak, note that they lost by only one goal in each of those four games. The Rangers are only 2-6 in their last 8 overall. 10* PLAY ON MONTREAL CANADIENS +1.5. |
03-07-22 | Avalanche -1.5 v. Islanders | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 49 m | Show |
TOP-RATED 10* NHL PUCKLINE PLAY OF THE DAY The New York Islanders are 1-7 SU and 4-4 against the puckline as home underdogs on the season. The Colorado Avalanche are 8-2 SU and 7-3 against the puckline as road favorite os minimum -180. The Havs have struggled when taking on the Islanders on the road in recent seasons, but they last played here back in early 2020. The Avs won the first meeting of the season 5-3 at home and I expect them to win by at least two on the road as well. 10* play on Colorado Avalanche -1.5. |
02-24-22 | Bruins -1.5 v. Seattle Kraken | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 51 m | Show |
TOP-RATED 10* NHL BOOKIE BU$TER Unlike Vegas a couple of seasons ago, the Seattle Kraken are having a tough time finding their footing during their inaugural season, and they are only 9-17-2 home at Climate Pledge Arena. They're coming into this game off five straight losses, and they lost all but one by two goals or more. The Bruins have had two full days off since an impressive 5-1 win against Colorado Monday night. Bruins are 9-2 in their last 11 games as a road favorite. Kraken are 1-9 in their last 10 games as a home underdog. 10* play on Boston Bruins -1.5. |
02-23-22 | Kings -1.5 v. Coyotes | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 22 m | Show |
MIKE'S TOP-RATED 10* NHL PLAY OF THE DAY Arizona is the worst team in the West. Playing on home ice has not been much of an advantage either as evidenced by the Yotes' 6-18-0-1 home record. The Los Angeles Kings won 5-3 here in Arizona on Saturday, and they are a respectable 13-6-4-1 on the road for the season. Kings are 8-1 in their last 9 vs. a team with a losing record, 7-2 in their last 9 games as a favorite, and 4-1 in their last 5 games as a road favorite. 10* play on Los Angeles Kings -1.5. |
02-22-22 | Blues -1.5 v. Flyers | Top | 4-1 | Win | 125 | 14 h 25 m | Show |
NHL MAJOR WAGER - MIKE'S 10* PUCKLINE GAME OF THE MONTH The St. Louis Blues have won three of their last four games, and all wins came by at least three goals. The Blues have had two full days of rest since a 6-3 win at Toronto, and they are 6-0 in their last 6 games playing on 2 days rest. The Flyers will be playing on no rest after taking a 4-3 OT loss to Philadelphia last night. The Flyers are 3-14 in their last 17 games playing on 0 days rest and 2-9 in their last 11 home games. 10* play on St. Louis Blues -1.5. |
01-31-22 | Oilers -1.5 v. Senators | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 53 m | Show |
TOP-RATED 10* NHL PUCKLINE PLAY OF THE DAY The Edmonton Oilers are riding a four-game winning streak. In their last game, the Oilers put a 7-2 beating on Montreal, and I expect them to come out fired up for this one as well looking to avenge a 6-4 home loss to Ottawa a couple of weeks ago. Oilers are 12-2 in their last 14 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. Senators are 3-11 in their last 14 games as a home underdog. Oilers are 9-1 in the last 10 meetings. 10* play on Edmonton Oilers -1.5. |
01-29-22 | Sharks v. Panthers -1.5 | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -115 | 17 h 2 m | Show |
NHL MAJOR WAGER - MIKE'S 10* PUCKLINE GAME OF THE MONTH Great spot to fade the San Jose Sharks off a win as a +200 dog ta Washington. They're still only 1-7 in their last 8 games as an underdog and 0-4 in the last 4 meetings with Florida. The Panthers are steamrolling just about everyone that comes in their way. Of their last seven wins, only one was by fewer than two goals. 10* play on Florida Panthers -1.5. |
01-27-22 | Rangers -1.5 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 34 m | Show |
TOP-RATED 10* NHL PUCKLINE PLAY OF THE DAY The Columbus Blue Jackets took a 6-0 beating by Calgary last night, and I think they'll get thumped by the Rangers as well here the following night. The Rangers have a huge rest advantage as they've had two full days of rest since defeating the Kings in a shootout on Monday. They are 8-2 in their last 10 games playing on two days rest, 38-14 in their last 52 games as a favorite and 17-4 in their last 21 against Eastern Conference opponents. The Blue Jackets are 0-5 in their last 5 games as a home underdog and 2-8 in their last 10 games playing on 0 days rest. This will be the third meeting of the season. The Rangers won the previous two 4-0 and 5-3. 10* play on New York Rangers -1.5. |
01-20-22 | Avalanche -1.5 v. Kings | Top | 4-1 | Win | 125 | 14 h 7 m | Show |
MIKE'S TOP-RATED 10* NHL PLAY OF THE DAY The LA Kings have allowed six goals in back-to-back games, and now they'll face the highest-scoring team in the NHL. The Avs are averaging 4.2 goals per game, and while they'll be playing on no rest after winning at Anahaim last night, I don't anticipate that to be an issue as the Avs are 8-1 in their last 9 games playing on 0 days rest and 9-0 in their last 9 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game. Additionally, the Avalanche are 6-0 in the last 6 meetings. 10* play on Colorado Avalanche -1.5. |
01-12-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Stars -1.5 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 130 | 13 h 18 m | Show |
MIKE'S TOP-RATED 10* WEDNESDAY NIGHT NHL PUCKLINE PUNISHER The slumping Kraken should not stand much of a chance here at Dallas Wednesday night. Seattle has lost six straight and eight of its last 10. Now it'll have to slow down a Dallas team that will be looking to snap back from a 2-1 loss to the Blues. The Stars had won four in a row prior to that loss. Stars are 9-1 in their last 10 games as a home favorite. Kraken are 2-7 in their last 9 games as a road underdog. 10* play on Dallas Stars -1.5. |
01-08-22 | Blackhawks v. Golden Knights -1.5 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 22 h 19 m | Show |
NHL MAJOR WAGER - MIKE'S PUCKLINE GAME OF THE MONTH The Vegas Chicago Blackhawks have lost six in a row and eight of their last 10 games. They've lost 12 of the last 14 meetings with the Golden Knights who are coming off a 5-1 win against the Rangers. Vegas has won 11 of its last 15 games and covered the puckline in nine of the wins. 10* play on Vegas Golden Knights. |
12-07-21 | Lightning -1.5 v. Canadiens | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 32 m | Show |
MIKE'S TOP-RATED 10* NHL PUCKLINE PLAY OF THE DAY The Montreal Canadiens have won only six of 26 games on the season. Of their last eight losses, five came by two goals or more. The Tampa Bay Lightning have won six of their last eight, winning four of those games by at least two goals. This will be the first meeting of the season, but Tampa Bay has absolutely dominated the series in recent years, winning eight of the last nine meetings straight up and covering the puckline in four of those wins. At this price, Tampa Bay -1,5 is definitely worth a shot. 10* play on Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5. |
12-05-19 | Wild +1.5 v. Lightning | Top | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
TOP RATED THURSDAY NIGHT NHL PUCKLINE PUNISHER The Minnesota Wild are undefeated in regulation through their last 10 games, winning seven of those contests. I think they're way undervalued here, facing a Tampa Bay Lightning team that is 1-2-1 through its last four, with the lone win in OT at Nashville on Tuesday. Minnesota has won four of its last six games as road dogs while Tampa Bay has lost back-to-back games as home favorites. Additionally, note that the underdog is 4-1 in the last 5 head-to-head meetings between the two clubs. While Minnesota on the moneyline is also worth a shot, I think the puckline play should be a sure winner. 10* play on Minnesota Wild +1.5. |
05-29-19 | Blues v. Bruins -1.5 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 0 m | Show |
GAME OF THE YEAR (NHL): MIKE'S BEST POSTSEASON SIDE The Boston Bruins proved well worth the money in Game 1 of this series as they battled back from a two-goal deficit to earn a 4-2 victory The loss must be mentally tough for the Blues who missed out on a golden opportunity to steal home-ice advantage, and I think they're unlikely to keep it close here as the red hot Bruins surely will be on their toes from the get-go tonight to avoid falling behind early again. The Bruins have won eight consecutive postseason games and the home team is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams. This looks like a solid case for a blowout win for the home team. 10* play on Boston Bruin PL. |
01-13-19 | Coyotes +1.5 v. Flames | Top | 1-7 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 27 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL): MIKE'S TOP RATED 10* PUCKLINE PUNISHER The Arizona Coyotes have opened a three-game trek through Western Canada with outright wins at Vancouver and Edmonton to improve to 12-9-1 SU on the road for a 40.7% ROI. They're 16-6 against the puckline in those games. Calgary is coming off four straight victories but won three of those by just one goal, against opponents like Philadelphia, Chicago and Florida. I like the visitors to keep this close. 10* play on Arizona Coyotes. |
10-26-18 | Jets -1.5 v. Red Wings | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 53 m | Show |
GAME OF THE MONTH (NHL): MIKE'S BEST PUCKLINE BET FOR OCTOBER The Winnipeg Jets visit the lowly Detroit Red Wings Friday night, and I think we'll see an easy win for the visitors. Detroit has won just one game all season (1-6-2) and each of its last five defeats were by at least two goals. Here the Red Wings will face a Winnipeg team which had won three straight before taking a 4-2 loss to Toronto Wednesday. Note that the Jets are 10-4 in their last 14 after scoring two goals or less in their previous game while Red Wings are 1-10 in their last 11 when their opponent scores two goals or less in their previous game. The Jets have scored at least one power play goal in six games while Detroit has struggled when shorthanded and allowed Carolina to convert on two of three chances with a man advantage Monday night. 10* play on Winnipeg Jets. |
10-15-18 | Kings v. Maple Leafs -1.5 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 148 | 18 h 22 m | Show |
MONDAY NIGHT NHL ESPN ENFORCER (10* TOP PLAY) The Toronto Maple Leafs have reeled off four straight victories and they've won the last three by two goals or more. The Leafs are coming off an impressive 4-2 triumph over last season's Stanley Cup champions Washington and center Auston Matthews is on absolute fire with a league-leading 10 goals through six games. I expect Toronto to have plenty of success on the man advantage here as it has converted on 47.1% of its opportunities on the season while the Kings have killed off only 73.3% of their penalties. The LA Kings took a 5-1 beating at Ottawa on Saturday. This is the finale of a four-game road trip for the Kings, and they might look ahead to next matchup with the Islanders at home. The Kings are 1-6 in their last eight road games and the home team is 7-1 in the last eight meetings with Toronto. 10* play on Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5. |
03-28-18 | Coyotes +1.5 v. Golden Knights | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 49 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* The Vegas Golden Knights have made their backers plenty money during their inaugural season. They're however just 3-2-2 through their last seven games, and here they'll face an Arizona Coyotes team which defeated the Lightning 4-1 at Tampa Bay their last time out to improve to 14-7-2 in their last 23 contests. "I think we're trying to treat every game like a playoff game and we kind of get up for that," said rookie Clayton Keller after the win. The Yotes should be well up for this game after losing each of the first four meetings with the Knights. My selection is a 10* play on Arizona Coyotes. |
03-14-18 | Canucks v. Ducks -1.5 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 127 | 21 h 50 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* The Anaheim Ducks are in dire need of a win after dropping three on the bounce and consequently dropping out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference. Taking on the lowly Vancouver Canucks could be just what they need to get back on track as they've won the last three meetings by a combined 13-2 margin and the Nucks enter this game on a four-game skid during which they've scored a total of just three goals. The Ducks are 5-0 in their last five home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and had covered the puckline as a favorite in three straight home wins before taking a 4-2 loss to St. Louis their last time out. My selection is a 10* play on Anaheim Ducks -1.5. |
03-12-18 | Canucks v. Kings -1.5 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 143 | 14 h 42 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* The LA Kings will be looking to bounce back from an embarrassing home loss to St. Louis on Saturday. "I’ll be honest with you, sometimes getting pummeled 7-2 may be easier than losing 2-1 or 3-2,” Los Angeles captain Anze Kopitar told reporters. “I don’t think a whole lot needs to be said. I’m sure each and every one of us know what we got to do and we have to play harder and with a lot more emotion." The last time Los Angeles lost by at least five goals on its home ice was 7-2 against the Stars back in 2008, and this will be a double-revenge spot for LA as it also seek to avenge a 6-2 loss to the Nucks on Jan. 23. The Vancouver Canucks look like an easy victim, coming off three straight losses and winning just one of their last seven games. I don't see them keeping up with a fired up home team here. My selection is a 10* play on LA Kings -1.5. |
10-09-15 | Arizona Coyotes v. Los Angeles Kings -1.5 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 2 m | Show |
10* NHL *HOT SHOT* ARI@LAK The Los Angeles Kings scored just two minutes into their season-opener against the San Jose Sharks but ended up losing the game 5-1. They'll be looking to bounce back with a big performance here against the Arizona Coyotes who'll play their first game of the season. I think it will be to the Kings advantage that they've already played a game this season and has had a day to re-group. They also seem to know what went wrong in the first game: "You’ve got to check," Kings coach Darryl Sutter told reporters. "If you don’t check, you can’t score. We had a lot of guys, especially top guys, that weren’t interested in that part of the game." Expect a pumped up Kings team looking to prove their coach wrong here. Note that: |
05-10-15 | Calgary Flames v. Anaheim Ducks -1.5 | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 43 m | Show |
10* NHL *HOT SHOT* The Anaheim Ducks are looking good to close out this Western Conference semifinals series against the Flames tonight, and I think they'll do it in style with a big win. They outscored the Flames 9-1 over the first two games at Honda Center in the series and have failed to cover the puckline in just two of their seven wins in the post-season. Fredrik Andersen has been immense in the Ducks net throughout the playoffs compiling a 1.96 GAA and .927 save percentage and he's a perfect 7-0 at home in his post-season career with a 1.57 GAA. Anaheim was 2-for-4 on the man advantage Friday and their 28% conversion rate in the playoffs is the best among clubs still alive. |
05-03-15 | Calgary Flames v. Anaheim Ducks -1.5 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 160 | 20 h 1 m | Show |
10* NHL *HOT SHOT* - Sunday's BIG PLAY! The Anaheim Ducks owned the Winnipeg Jets in their Western Conference quarterfinals as they won the series in just four games and showed no mercy in the opener of this semifinals series against the Flames winning Game 1 6-1. The Flames have struggled big time at Anaheim winning just two of the last 34 meetings at the Duck Pond and the ex-Duck Jonas Hiller was chased off the ice after only 22 minutes Friday after giving up three goals on 14 shots. Karri Ramo will tend the net for the visitors tonight, but although he's 2-1 against the Ducks over his career it's with a swollen 3.20 GAA. Anaheim is coming into this game as a huge favorite, and there's a good reason for that. It won the Western Conference while Calgary didn't secure its spot in the playoffs until the very last couple of rounds of the season. The Ducks will dominate the game and win, but instead of laying the juice on them to win straight-up I like the price we get on them to win big here in Game 2 as well. Corey Perry had two goals and two assists Friday and is league-best for the post-season with his 11 points so far this year, and the Flames have yet to find an answer to his physical style of hockey. |
04-30-15 | Calgary Flames v. Anaheim Ducks -1.5 | Top | 1-6 | Win | 165 | 19 h 42 m | Show |
10* NHL *POWER PLAY* CGY@ANA The Anaheim Ducks owned the Winnipeg Jets in their Western Conference quarterfinals as they won the series in just four games. They conceded the first goal in three of the four contests but still managed to cover the puck-line in 50% of the games in the series. The Flames defeated the Nucks over six games in their conference quarterfinals series but lost two of three games at Vancouver. They've struggled mightily at Anaheim winning just two of the last 33 meetings at Anaheim and their starting netminder tonight, the ex-Duck, Jonas Hiller was 1-2 with a swollen 3.43 GAA over four outings against his former club during the regular season. Anaheim is coming into this games as a huge favorite, and there's a good reason for that. It won the Western Conference while Calgary didn't secure its spot in the playoffs until the very last couple of rounds of the season. The Ducks will dominate the game and win, but instead of laying the juice on them to win straight-up I like the price we get on them to win big and an empty netter in the dying minutes of the game to save the day is not out of the question if they fail to finish off the Flames earlier in the game. |
