However, at home, they have mopped the floor with the opposition and I expect that to happen again here.

NYI has never done well at TD garden, going 5-12 and they have lost 22 of the last 30 meetings. The Bruins head out for a lengthy road trip following this game, which includes a back to back set in 2 days. Boston knows they need to take care of business here at home with the tough schedule ahead.

50* NHL GAME OF THE MONTH Washington Capitals -135 If there is one team you want to back after a bad performance, it's the Washington Capitals. This team rarely loses back to back games. They have only lost consecutive games 6 times since the start of last season. They are also 14-2 following a loss of 3 or more goals. They have also had 2 days to stew on this loss, so there is no doubt that they will have that extra focus in preparation. The Caps have done well lately with multiple days of rest, going 10-4 in the process. Well the Blue Jackets did it again with their offensive fireworks last game, dropping 8 on the Blues. This team also dropped 10 on Montreal earlier this year. However, this team has not done well after a terrific offensive performance and they suffer a letdown. After their 10 goal onslaught, they managed just 1 goal their next game in an OT loss. They have just 1 win in their last 7 games after scoring 5+ goals. The Capitals have always had the Blue Jackets number. In fact, they are 4-0-1 in the last 5 meetings.

The public is all over the Blues tonight but we have some serious reverse line movement in this one. Look for the Preds to keep their stellar home record intact tonight.

30* NHL Saturday BEST BET Ottawa Senators -140 Love the way the Senators are playing right now. Our top NHL season win total was the over for the Senators and a big part of that was first year coach, Guy Boucher. He has always done well in his first year at a new program. This team is playing extremely well at home this season, going 5-1. Their defense has been stifling, only allowing 1 goal in their last 3 games and that success should continue tonight facing the 26th ranked offense in the Sabres. Although Buffalo is 3-1-1 this season on the road, they have been historically bad away from home in recent years. They are just 36-85, which includes going 12-32 facing a team with a winning record on the road. The Sabres are also just 15-49 facing a team with a winning record overall in their last 64.

2* St. Louis Blues -117 Price is cheap here for clearly the better team. Calgary has just 1 win in their 5 games (1-3-1) this season and it was an OT win. What makes it worse is they have been playing bad teams. Buffalo, Edmonton, Vancouver, Carolina. Not exactly murderer's row. Calgary's defense has been a joke and they commit way too many penalties. They have committed 27 penalties this season, which includes 8 their last game. You can't give a team like the Blues several man advantages. They will make you pay. Calgary also hasn't scored in their last 19 PP chances. Special teams are a disaster for the Flames and I expect this to be the difference tonight.

Capitals get to go back to where their season ended, to begin this year on a high note by spoiling the Penguins Stanley Cup celebration. This Capitals team is LOADED. I liked the Blues from the get go and we're sticking to it. I think the Blues should win the Western Conference. St. Louis has the better defense and defense wins championship. They are 12-3 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and have taken 6 of the last 8 meetings in Dallas, so they know how to win there. The Stars 1-4 following a win.

40* NHL GAME OF THE WEEK Washington Capitals +102 For all intents and purposes, this game is Washington's season. You can not go down 3-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Although the Penguins have had success against the Capitals in recent years, it's extremely tough to beat this team 3 games in a row. The loss of Kris Letang is huge. Pittsburgh is now down it's top 2 blue-liners for this game with Letang out due to a suspension and Maatta out from the injury on the hit from Orpik. Murray is going to have to stand on his head again in net because he is going to face a barrage of shots from the Capitals tonight. This is bad news for the Penguins as the Capitals should bounce back nicely on offense as they are 40-14 when scoring 2 goals or less their previous game. Washington continues to be exceptional on the penalty kill in the post-season, killing off all 10 shorthanded opportunities this series and letting just 1 goal out of 33 tries this entire playoffs.

All the momentum is with the better team right now and Nashville has to feel like the blew it. Anaheim smells blood and there's not a thing the Preds can do about it. The Ducks are also 46-18 after scoring 5 goals or more their previous game, which means they stay hot after a great performance and Nashville is 0-4 after a loss of 3+ goals. We have two teams here going in opposite directions and we're taking the hotter and much better team tonight to close out the series.

The Ducks are simply too talented to go down 3-0 or even possibly swept. This team had the #1 PP and #1 PK. They also are the #2 seed in the West. They're too good of a team to lose 3 in a row. With them being on the road now, a lot of the pressure should be off their shoulders not having to perform for the home fans. Ducks go ALL out in this one.

40* NHL GAME OF THE WEEK New York Islanders +124 I believe the key here is the level of competition each team played throughout the season. The Isles CLEARLY had the tougher road playing in the Metro. Although Florida is the higher seed, they are only separated by 3 points. Both teams did end the season well but the Isles have played great on the road, taking out the Caps and the Rangers. Florida has played poorly against the good teams of the league, going just 2-7 over their last 9 games facing a team with a winning record. This should be a great contest and, in my opinion, this game should be lined closer to -115. Getting the solid plus money payout here is the way to go.

(I think they ultimately take out the Capitals in the 2nd round, which I hope doesn't happen being a Caps fan, but the Caps just can not get through the 2nd round.) The Pens are clicking on all cylinders and even their penalty kill has been phenomenal. They have killed off 22 straight man advantages. 20* Boston Bruins +129 Tons of money is on the Bruins tonight. Boston has played exceptionally well on the road of late, winning 10 of their last 12. The Lightning is in a tough spot as they are playing the 2nd of a back to back, 3rd game in 4, and 4th game in 6 nights.

20* Buffalo Sabres -110
The Toronto Maples Leafs are in total disarray. They have lost 5 straight and 9 of their last 10. They have also managed over 2 goals just once in those 9 losses. To make matters worse for Toronto is that they are playing their 4th game in 6 nights and have lost 11 of their last 12 home games facing a team with a losing record.
Buffalo isn't the greatest team either but they're better than Toronto. They have managed points in their last 3 games and even though they have lost, they played the Kings, Ducks, Sharks, and Penguins extremely tough recently. There's a reason why this team is now the favorite after opening the underdog.

50* NHL GAME OF THE MONTH Tampa Bay Lightning -143 This line was short earlier because the Lightning haven't had much success against the Devils in the past. This line has climbed a lot from the opener and for good reasons. Tampa Bay is hot and New Jersey is not. The Lightning have won 4 in a row and the Devils have dropped 4 of their last 5, which includes a beat down last night at the hands of the Blue Jackets. Tampa Bay has been fantastic in this spot. The Lightning have won 13 of their last 16 road contest facing a team with a losing record and they are also 12-4 after scoring 2 goals or less their previous game. I like this stat because it shows that they really know how to give a strong effort after a poor offensive outing. A big key to this is the line change with Stamkos. Since moving back to center with Callahan and Killorn on his sides, they have tallied 16 points in 5 games. I don't see NJ having any shot at stopping them especially since the Devils have given up 19 goals in their last 5 games.

30* NHL BEST BET Minnesota Wild -105 Here we go again. Another team coming back home from a long road trip that we will fade (Philly.) Minnesota has been playing much better since firing their coach as they have won 4 of their last 5 games. The Wild still have a great chance at getting the number 8 seed and they need a win here because they have the Caps on deck and that seems like a near impossibly to win there as the Caps are also coming off a loss. The Flyers are just 15-36 facing a team with a losing record and they have only won twice in their last 8 home games.

40* NHL GAME OF THE WEEK Anaheim Ducks +101 There are a lot of things pointing to the Ducks tonight. First off, the Ducks are on fire as they have won 6 straight and 8 of their last 9 games. It's always a good bet to ride a winning streak in sports. Also, all the trends are in favor of Anaheim. They are 5-0 facing a team with a winning record, 5-1 their last 6 on the road, and 14-2 playing on 2 days rest. That is key here as the Penguins are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights tonight and Pittsburgh is just 2-5 in that spot. Looking at the line movement in this game is a telling sign on who is the right side. This line opened at Penguins -130 and has dropped to -110 with nearly every bet on the Penguins. Some spots are even showing 90% of the action on Pittsburgh. A few sources have confirmed big money on the visitors. Going to follow the money with the hot team and the great situational spot here tonight.

20* NHL MONEY MOVER Toronto Maple Leafs -140 We have to take a chance on the Maple Leafs tonight. The line movement on this game is unbelievable and can't be ignored. The opener for this game was -110 and even New Jersey -115 in a couple spots. Now the Maple Leafs are as high as dollar fifty favorites in this game. What's even more surprising is that there are a lot more bets being placed on the Devils. Some spots have 2 out of every 3 bets on the visitors, yet the line has jumped nearly 60 cents. Going to follow the money here with the home team. The Devils are just 1-5 their last 6 meetings in Toronto.

It has been very profitable fading teams in this spot in the NBA, MLB, and the NHL. We will also be following the money here as this line has gone crazy since the opener. This line opened basically at pickem (-115) and now has climbed to -150 in some spots with practically 50-50 action on both sides.

20* NHL BEST BET St. Louis Blues -190 I know this is a lot of juice to lay but under -200 is a steal here. You can also consider doing a moneyline parlay with another big favorite (consider San Antonio or even Alabama.) The Maple Leafs have only one win in their last 5 games playing in a 3 games in 4 nights situation. They have also only won 9 times in their last 51 road games. That's just pathetic. St. Louis is 50-9 at home playing a team with a winning percentage of less than 40%!

30* NHL BEST BET Dallas Stars -150 This is a bit pricey but the Dallas Stars should be favored by a lot more in my opinion. Dallas had a fantastic come back going down early in their last game so I see them riding that momentum here tonight. Calgary's defense has just been awful lately, giving up 5+ in 2 of their last 3 games. The Stars should light the lamp a ton tonight. Both of these clubs come into this game with 2 days off. This is a huge tell of what the right side is in this game as Dallas prepares much better. The Stars are 8-1 in this spot and the Flames are just 2-6. Dallas also has been dynamite on the road and has been destroying the Western Conference going 13-3 the last 16. Dallas has won 5 of the last 7 meetings and the road squad is a perfect 5-0 the last 5. Look for Dallas to cruise here tonight.

I know this is a lot of juice so consider parlaying with a huge football favorite to shorten the price but regardless, Stars should take care of business at home. Buffalo has been terrible in this spot historically. The Sabres are 16-66 after scoring 2 goals are less their previous game and they are 5-24 facing a team with a winning percentage of .600 or greater. The Stars have won 4 of 5 and 6 of the last 8 home games against Buffalo. Also have a small lean to the under here as well.

40* NHL GAME OF THE WEEK Dallas Stars -150 The Anaheim Ducks are in a complete funk right now. Everything about this team says FADE! They just lost last night, again, on the road in overtime to the Chicago Blackhawks, 1-0. This is now the 5th time in 8 games the Ducks have been blanked. They have also gone nearly 130 minutes without netting a single puck. Let's add more fuel to the fire...they haven't even won on the road yet. This team is so bad that they don't even average a goal a game! Need I say more? This game is a total fade of a sputtering team right now and we'll gladly take the home team here.
