Oregon’s passing game hasn’t been great and the pass protection has struggled to keep hands off Tyler Shough.Iowa State will look to get through the pass protection with an above average pass rush. That pass rush will force mistakes and help Iowa State’s coverage make some plays. Iowa State’s run game should be effective behind Hall, who many thought could be a potential Heisman candidate earlier in the season. He’ll likely rack up over 20 touchdowns and over 1500 yards on the ground on the season in this game. His dominance should take over on offense, especially when Iowa State’s defense gets some stops and the Cyclones have to run out the clock. Take the Cyclones

If Kentucky is going to defeat NC State, the Wildcats will need a lot of help from their defense, especially in the turnover battle. UK has a strong rushing attack and the Wolfpack defense will be without its defensive anchor. So this game could come down to if Wildcats quarterback Terry Wilson can make plays with his arm. If he can, then Kentucky has a chance to pull off the victory. But that has not been a winning formula for the 'Cats this season whereas NC State enters this game with more momentum having won four in a row. The Wolfpack make it five straight on Tuesday down in Jacksonville.

CFB 100 DIME GAME UCF The UCF quarterback has been nothing short of spectacular. He’s thrown for 21 touchdowns in just six games, with only two interceptions. His interception-to-attempt ratio (0.14) is on pace to be the lowest in school history. The only quarterbacks who have thrown for more yards than Gabriel’s 2,506 are SMU’s Shane Buechele (2,581) and BYU’s Zach Wilson (2,511). Of course, Buechele and Wilson have also played two more games than Dillon. One would think there wouldn’t be enough footballs to go around, but the Knights also boast two running backs in the top 40 in rushing yards. When Greg McCrae (496 rushing yards) was banged up early, shifty senior Otis Anderson (480 rushing yards) more than picked up the slack. Now that McCrae is fully healthy, he has also been gashing opposing defenses. Look for this one-two punch to each surpass the 100-yard plateau against Temple. Why, then, has this team lost two football games? Simply put, the defense is not holding up its end of the bargain. The Knights rank 64th in opponent yards per rush attempt and 87th in opponent yards per pass attempt, yielding 8.1 yards per pass. To make matters worse, the defense will be without four players who were counted on at the beginning of the season. Starting safety Antwan Collier, linebacker Eric Mitchell, and defensive linemen Kenny Turnier and Randy Charlton were dismissed from the team. This stemmed from an off-the-field incident prior to the Houston game. Temple is dealing with a banged up quarterback. The offense is already horrible, and I expect a big blowout.

No. This is far from being a polished product. But Coach Schiano has the ship steered in the right direction. Competent quarterback play, an offensive playbook that should keep defenses on its heels and a defense that fights through all four quarters. That would’ve been a wish list a year ago for most fans. I expect Rutgers to take care of business but as we know they rarely make it look pretty.

And while Wazzu is likely to try and move the ball fast, especially with Max Borghi such a vital part of the passing game, the Beavers are likely to try and slow it down by pounding it early and often with Jermar Jefferson at the Cougars' inexperienced defensive line that's making the transition to a new scheme under a new coordinator. COLLEGE FOOTBALL 100 DIME GAME STANFORD +9.5 This game is in my eyes the second-biggest game of week one for the Pac-12. Oregon vs Stanford is always one of the better games of the year, and these two teams always play each other tough. I think this game on paper looks like a game in which both defenses will play well and this game follows the traditional path of being a lower scoring game. I am going the opposite direction. New faces in Oregon's secondary, a poor 2019 defense in Stanford is down multiple starters this year. I think we see a lot of points scored. Oregon is a 10-point favorite, and I think we see the Cardinal cover in the smallest of margins.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL 100 DIME GAME CLEMSON -5 Clemson is the No. 1 team in the nation, the Tigers come to South Bend without star quarterback Trevor Lawrence and a shorthanded defense. The best path for a win by the Fighting Irish starts by winning the battle in the trenches on offense, allowing Kyren Williams and Chris Tyree to find running room behind a standout offensive line. Quarterback Ian Book doesn’t need huge numbers, but the senior needs to hit on a big play or two, consistently connect on the midrange passes and keep drives alive on third downs. Defensively, Notre Dame has to keep Travis Etienne in check and force a receiver outside of Amari Rodgers to win this game. The Fighting Irish and Tigers battle for four quarters, but D.J. Uiagalelei makes a couple of big plays in the second half, while Clemson’s defense steps up with the game on the line to pull out the victory in South Bend.

The Nittany Lions have defensive talent, but they’ll be rolling out the red carpet for a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate this season. Fields will do more with his arm in this outing, while leaning more on the combination of Teague and Sermon in the offensive backfield. The Buckeyes finished against Nebraska with a 62 percent third-down conversion percentage in their last outing. Northwestern was supposed to have a good defense, and it does, and the offensive line came into the season just fine, but if the skill guys really are that good, look out. CFB 150 DIME GOLD GOY MISSISSIPPII +18.50 WSU quarterback Anthony Gordon threw for 5,579 yards with 48 touchdowns completing 72 percent of his attempts last season. Costello will get his chances to exploit LSU's defense. Can LSU keep everything bottled up limiting explosive plays? The play of LSU's offensive line will not only dictate the outcome of the game but for the entire season. If the line is up to the task, Mississippi State will have limited chances. With first game jitters and a simple offensive approach to get the ball out quick, Mississippi State should push LSU until adjustments are made. LSU by 7

Dave Aranda’s unit is built to defend the type of rushing attack Georgia features and the biggest key will be keeping them in unfavorable down and distances where Jake Fromm is forced to make a play with his arm. I have confidence Fromm can make those plays but can his supporting cast uphold their end of the bargain and put up enough points to counter LSU’s high-powered offense? I see this one playing out kind of like the Auburn game. However, this time around, it’s LSU with a fourth-quarter score that doesn’t fully illustrate how the game went…LSU 31, Georgia 17

The Tar Heel running game has been good enough to compliment Howell, but it’s not going to take over. There’s been a big problem keeping defenses out of the backfield, though, and Howell is taking several shots. On the other side, the Blue Devil O line is doing a fantastic job. It’s giving everyone time to work, the running game is good enough to overcome a rough run lately by QB Quentin Harris – he’s a whole lot better than he’s been showing. Kyle Vantrease isn’t a bad option, but Myers brings more of a rushing element. Can it be as simple as the home field advantage? UB is 2-0 in Amherst and 0-3 away from home. They haven’t scored more than 14 points in any game and in my opinion, it’s because Chip Kelly’s offense is now the status quo. It used to be revolutionary but these days it’s like everyone else. It’s going to stay that way against Washington State because Mike Leach has one of his best defensive units since coming to Pullman. They’re allowing just 16 points per game this season and a poultry 346 yards per game. COLLEGE FOOTBALL 100 DIME GAME NAVY +7.5 This game is historically close because of the fact both teams run an option offense, which chews clock and limits possessions for either side. It's hard for either team to get a big lead, which makes Navy an appealing option with this spread. Since the 2011 season, only one Army-Navy Game has been decided by more than seven points, and the underdog covers more often than not. In fact, the underdog has covered four straight in this series, and in seven of the last nine. Look for it to become eight of ten this year

CFB 100 DIME GAME OHIO ST -14 How do you go against Ohio State when they not only need to win but also have to impressive doing so? The Wildcats played Michigan close and lost by just 10 against Notre Dame, but those games were at home. Those teams are also not as explosive as Ohio State is offensively. Ohio State just has too many athletes and the Wildcats don’t have a strong enough running game to keep them off the field. If this was not played in a dome, the Wildcats might have a shot in the cold weather or if there was precipitation to slow that OSU offense down. But advantage Ohio State with this being played in a dome from a neutral site. The Buckeyes will be focused for this game and Northwestern will just be outclassed

CFB 100 DIME GAME TEXAS +8 the Big 12 by now is that the league is all about matchups. As Oklahoma under Lincoln Riley drifts more toward the Air Raid roots of Riley’s offense, it seems like the Sooners become a better and better matchup for Texas. This game, unlike any other in the conference, is an SEC-style game where the team that usually wins the line of scrimmage battle and is the more physical club wins, which is why Texas has competed well against Oklahoma (the last five games in the series have been decided by a total of 26 points) despite the Sooners being the superior team on paper. The health of Sam Ehlinger is huge in this one since he played as close to a perfect game as he could in the first meeting. That said, the Texas offensive line is better than it was the first time around and is facing an Oklahoma defensive front that’s been pushed around in recent weeks, Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Collin Johnson still have the edge on the Oklahoma secondary and Todd Orlando is fortunate to have athletes at linebacker and in the secondary who can hang with the Sooners on the perimeter. Until Oklahoma proves otherwise, Texas is the more physical squad. That usually lends itself to winning the rushing yardage battle and the turnover battle, which usually decides this game. Even though some things have changed since the first meeting, everything Texas did well on Oct. 6 goes back to the Longhorns being the more physical team, which hasn’t changed in the nearly two-month period since the last time these two rivals met inside the Cotton Bowl.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL 100 DIME GAME LOUISVILLE +17 With 207 yards standing between Benny Snell and Kentucky’s all-time rushing record, expect the junior running back to receive a heavy workload against a Cardinals’ defense that has been gashed throughout the season. As his confidence has grown by the game, don’t be surprised to see a slow start from Terry Wilson in what will be his first Governor’s Cup experience. After giving up a whopping 392 yards to Middle Tennessee last Saturday, Kentucky’s veteran defense should come out with a purpose against the Cardinals. After all, most of a senior-rich defense will face Louisville for the fourth and final time in their careers. The game could be close and competitive early, but the first 11 games of the regular season show Kentucky is more talented, well-coached and soundly balanced than Louisville in all three phases of the game. After halftime, expect the Wildcats to pull away and firmly defeat the Cardinals.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL 100 DIME GAME GEORGIA SOUTHERN -10.5 Georgia State might have struggled in a lousy season with just one win over an FBS team, but beat Georgia Southern, and that would be more fun than any bowl victory. At least, that’s what the team has to believe. Can the Panthers stop the run? Not really. They’ve allowed over 200 yards in five of the last six games, and now they have to deal with an option attack that can stall at odd times – and did way too often over the second half of the season – but when it’s on, forget it. 7-0 when coming up with 200 yards, the Eagles aren’t just great when they’ve got the machine going; they’re not making big mistakes, either. They lead the nation in turnover margin after only giving the ball away five times. Georgia State isn’t going to come up with enough stops, and they’re not going to generate the takeaways needed to pull this off.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL 100 DIME GAME NC STATE -6.5 North Carolina is 2-8, but the Tar Heels have been competitive in each of their last six games. After getting blown out by Miami on September 27, UNC lost its next five games by 33 total points before beating Western Carolina last week. So there is still fight in the Heels, and they will give the Wolfpack a battle to close the campaign. But the matchups are in NC State’s favor. The slipping pass defense plays right into Finley’s hands, and the Pack can control the Carolina ground game and harass quarterback Nathan Elliott. Fedora’s season — and perhaps his stint in Chapel Hill — will end with another loss.

CFB 150 DIME HIGH ROLLER GOY WASHINGTON ST -2.5 This is Leach’s first 10-win season with Washington State. As the numbers suggest, this is a far better Cougar team than usual and not as good of a Washington side. Minshew is going out on top with by far his best season, and he should be able to go out on top in the form of his first victory over the Huskies. Browning, meanwhile, is going up against a WSU defense that is second in the Pac-12 against the rush and third against the pass. It is worth noting that the favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between the two teams.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL 100 DIME GAME OKLAHOMA -3 Oklahoma has won 19 straight true road games, which is the longest such streak in the nation. West Virginia hasn't lost at home this season. Something has got to give in this clash of explosive offenses. The Sooners have been living on the edge in November with their porous pass defense. Facing one of the nation's top quarterbacks isn't a good solution to cure those woes. West Virginia can keep up on the scoreboard and has just enough on defense to deny Oklahoma a chance to repeat as Big 12 champs.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL 100 DIME GAME SAN DIEGO ST +13 Fresno State had little trouble in dispatching San Diego State a year ago, and the Bulldogs seem to have a clear edge over the Aztecs once again. Both teams feature strong defenses, but Fresno State can put points on the board when needed. That isn't a claim San Diego State can make. It will be a grind-it-out battle over four quarters, but the Bulldogs will make just enough plays to pull away late.

CFB 100 DIME GAME WASHINGTON ST -10 Right now, Minshew is arguably one of the top five quarterbacks in the country, and he will put too much pressure on Garbers and Cal’s offense to keep up with the Cougars. Washington State is a plus-69 in its four home games this season, and a double-digit deficit early may be too much for the Bears to overcome. This is a Syndicate Move!

CFB 100 DIME GAME LT +24 Louisiana Tech is on a three-game winning streak and won four of the last five games, with a defense that’s been quietly playing well to overcome an offense that’s sputtering a bit. The Conference USA Bulldogs are great at getting behind the line – Jaylon Ferguson is tearing up offenses with 10.5 sacks so far – but this game is about stopping the run. Louisiana Tech can be hit hard on the ground, giving up over 200 yards four times – including 218 yards and five scores in the 38-21 loss to LSU – and now it’s up to Nick Fitzgerald to go back to being Nick Fitzgerald, if he wants to. This is a Syndicate Play
