11-19-23 | Winnipeg v. Montreal +8.5 | Top | 24-28 | Win | 100 | 29 h 35 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on MTL. The Bombers are back in the Grey Cup for the fourth consecutive season. They will be a huge favorite against an ALs team that just knocked off the league leading Toronto Argonauts. Montreal is playing their best football down the stretch, and their defense has been formidable. There is no doubt that the Bombers deserve to be favorites, and you can call them the better team. The Als look dangerous in the role of the underdog, and it's hard to ignore their seven game winning streak. Montreal might be the best team in the CFL right here right now, and I don't think they are getting enough respect. I'll take the points. GL, Jesse Schule |

11-11-23 | BC v. Winnipeg -4.5 | Top | 13-24 | Win | 100 | 40 h 9 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on WPG. The Blue Bombers are still the best team in the CFL, and they have owned the BC Lions. The Bombers are 8-2 straight up in the last 10 meetings, and they covered the spread in all eight of those wins. The last time BC went to Winnipeg, they lost 50-14 as a six-point underdog. The Lions defense has really struggled in the second half of the season, and they face a Winnipeg offense that is firing on all cylinders. The Lions are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 playoff games, and they have failed to cover in six straight road games in the post-season. The Lions are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 meetings in Winnipeg. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
09-29-23 | Toronto v. Winnipeg -7 | Top | 21-31 | Win | 100 | 65 h 59 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on WPG. The Argos have already clinched 1st place in the EAST, so they are coming into Friday's game at Winnipeg with a plan to rest their starters. Starting QB Chad Kelly won't play, and it seem pretty clear that Toronto doesn't have any interest in winning this game. It is a big game for Winnipeg, who sit tied for first place with the BC Lions. Winnipeg leads the CFL in scoring, and they rank first scoring defense allowing 21 points per game. Zach Collaros has thrown a CFL best 29 TD passes, and he ranks 1st in the league with a QBR of 115. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
08-20-23 | BC -9.5 v. Saskatchewan | Top | 29-34 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 12 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on BC. The Lions got starting QB Vernon Adams Jr back last week, and he threw for 322 yards, 4 TDs and an INT on 23-of-32 passing in a blowout win over Calgary. The Lions play on the road at Regina Sunday, but the Riders are down to their third string QB. Saskatchewan has allowed opponents to average 27 points per game this season, and only Hamilton has allowed more. Last year the Lions played at Regina twice, winning by double digits in both games. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
08-03-23 | BC +6 v. Winnipeg | Top | 14-50 | Loss | -115 | 65 h 57 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on BC. The Lions have the second best record in the CFL going 6-1. Their only loss came against the undefeated Toronto Argos. They rank first in the league in scoring defense (by a country mile). The Bombers defense has not looked as good as it has been in recent years, and in Week 6 they blew a 16 point lead in the final two minutes, losing in overtime at Ottawa. While the history favors Winnipeg, the times change and the Lions appear to the better team getting a bunch of points in this matchup. After losing 30-6 at home to BC earlier this season, this is a revenge spot for the Bombers, but that doesn't mean they should be a six point favorite in my opinion. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
07-08-23 | Ottawa +2.5 v. Hamilton | Top | 13-21 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 24 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on OTT. Both these teams signed high profile quarterbacks during the off-season, and so far it hasn't worked out for either team. Jeremiah Masoli is expected to make his debut for Ottawa here this week, while Bo Levi Mitchell has been a bust for the Ticats. After throwing for 361 yards with a TD and four INTs, Mitchell has been sidelined. There are some huge revenge angles here for Ottawa, as they have lost seven straight to Hamilton. Masoli is not the only former Ticat now in Ottawa, Jaleon Acklin at WR and DE Lorenzo Mauldin were stars in Hamilton. This looks like a classic example of wrong team favored. The RedBlacks are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 meetings in Hamilton. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
07-03-23 | BC -1 v. Toronto | Top | 24-45 | Loss | -110 | 156 h 26 m | Show |
This is a 5* play on BC. The Lions have the top ranked defense in the CFL, allowing just 21 points in three games. It's not like they have had a soft schedule, winning on the road at Winnipeg and Calgary. The Argos are 2-0, but their opponents are a combined 0-7 so far this season. Toronto's QB Chad Kelly has pedestrian numbers, especially when you consider the opponents he has faced. He's thrown for 502 yards a TD and two INTs on 59 percent passing in two starts. Vernon Adams has dealt with injuries at WR, but still ranks 3rd in the CFL in passing. He will get two of his top three targets back for tonight's game. The Lions are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 road games. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
06-17-23 | Edmonton Elks v. BC -7 | Top | 0-22 | Win | 100 | 15 h 10 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on BC. Surely the Edmonton Elks have to be better than they were a year ago. They ranked dead last in the CFL in scoring defense, and it wasn't even close. This is a tough spot for the Elks on the road, facing a BC team that has won the last four meetings by an average margin of 32 points. Vernon Adams Jr. might not be Nathan Rourke, but throwing for 300 yards, 2 TDs and an INT in a blowout win at Calgary in Week 1 is a positive sign. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
11-13-22 | Montreal +3.5 v. Toronto | Top | 27-34 | Loss | -110 | 100 h 60 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Montreal. The Argos finished first in the East, but Montreal was the hottest team in the CFL in the second half of the season. Trevor Harris finished third in the CFL in passing, and he completed 80 percent of his passes in a win over Hamilton in the East Semi Final. William Stanback missed the majority of the regular season, but the leading rusher in the CFL in 2021 is healthy for the playoffs. He ran for 66 yards on 10 carries in the win over the Tiger Cats. Montreal has won six of the last 10 meetings between these teams, and the four games they lost were decided by an average margin of fewer than three points. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
07-21-22 | Hamilton v. BC -7.5 | Top | 12-17 | Loss | -110 | 58 h 31 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the B.C. Lions. Hamilton is coming off it's first win of the season at home over Ottawa, but now they play on short rest on the other side of the country in Vancouver. The Lions own the league's highest scoring offense, averaging 40 points per game. Nathan Rourke has completed 80 percent of his passes this season, with 12 TDs and 4 INTs in four starts. Coming off a bye week, we should expect BC to be at it's best. The Tiger-Cats are 0-6 ATS in their last six games overall, and they are 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 games in July. The Lions are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a bye week. Hamilton has failed to cover in five of their last six visits to Vancouver. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
06-18-22 | Saskatchewan -6.5 v. Edmonton Elks | Top | 26-16 | Win | 100 | 120 h 27 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Saskatchewan. The Riders won 30-13 at home versus Hamilton in Week 1, and they head out on the road to face the Elks in Edmonton in Week 2. Edmonton looks like the worst team in the CFL after giving up 59 points in a loss to BC in their season opener. Home field might not help, as the Elks were 0-7 in Edmonton last year. Starting QB Nick Arbuckle threw for 254 yards on 20-of-29 passing, with no TDs and three INTs in the loss to BC. The Elks are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 home games, and they are 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games following a ATS loss. The Roughriders are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games, and they have won five straight head to head versus Edmonton. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
11-28-21 | Montreal v. Hamilton -4.5 | Top | 12-23 | Win | 100 | 43 h 35 m | Show |
1 This is a 10* play on Hamilton. Montreal had a chance to secure home field for this game, but they lost at home to a last place team with a rookie QB, and now they will visit Hamilton. Home field could be quite significant here, as there are few places tougher to play than Steel Town. The iger-Cats are 13-4-1 ATS in their last 18 home games, and they have covered in five straight home playoff games. The Als most dangerous weapon on offense is RB William Stanback, but he matches up against a Ticats run defense that ranks 1st in the CFL allowing just 79.6 rushing yards per game, and a league low 4.2 yards per carry. Jeremiah Masoli finished the season strong after missing four games, and ranked second in the CFL in yards per attempt (9). The Als picked up Trevor Harris after the injury to Vernon Adams, and Harris has played well, but it's still a downgrade. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
11-20-21 | Saskatchewan v. Hamilton -5 | Top | 3-24 | Win | 100 | 15 h 56 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Hamilton. The Saskatchewan Roughriders have already clinched a playoff spot, so they will not have the majority of their offensive starters on the field when they visit Hamilton Saturday. The Tigercats have also clinched a playoff spot, but they still have a chance to lock up home field advantage. This should be quite a mismatch with Hamilton's starters going up against the Riders backups. The Tiger-Cats are 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 games as a home favorite, and they are 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 home games. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
09-18-21 | Winnipeg -6.5 v. Edmonton Elks | Top | 37-22 | Win | 100 | 45 h 59 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Winnipeg. I had the Bombers in their win over the Riders last week, and here is what I said before kickoff: "The Bombers won big at Saksatchewan in the Labour Day Classic, and they look good as a pickem in the rematch just five days later. Cody Fajardo took a beating in the loss, throwing for 211 yards and three INTs on 23-of-39 passing. The Blue Bombers are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 home games, and they are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games as a home favorite. They have covered in six of their last seven versus Saskatchewan." They are taking on Edmonton who will miss starting QB Trevor Harris, who was the CFL's leading passer. The Elks are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 versus a team with a winning record. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
09-01-19 | Winnipeg v. Saskatchewan -5 | Top | 17-19 | Loss | -115 | 14 h 30 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Saskatchewan. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are on top of the Western Conference standings, and they are coming off a big upset win over Edmonton last week. Backup quarterback Chris Streveler was just 7-of-17 for 89 yards without any scores in the win, and those numbers aren't likely going to cut it on the road in Saskatchewan. Already without starting quarterback Matt Nichols, the Bombers will be without leading rusher Andrew Harris tonight, after he tested positive for a banned substance. The Riders defense has looked good during a five game winning streak, and they should be able to shut down this shorthanded Winnipeg offense. Take SASK. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
08-17-19 | Montreal v. Calgary -6.5 | Top | 40-34 | Loss | -128 | 116 h 6 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Calgary Stampeders. Montreal will have Vernon Adams Jr. back for this road game at Calgary, but he's going up against one of the CFL's best defenses. Calgary leads the league in forced turnovers, with 24 so far this season. Bo Levi Mitchell is expected to see some action here against the Als, but he might be sharing the workload with Nick Arbuckle. The Als offense struggled in a home loss to Saskatchewan last week, gaining just 141 yards in a weather shortened game. It won't get any easier on the road against an even tougher opponent. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
08-03-19 | Edmonton +1 v. Calgary | Top | 18-24 | Loss | -105 | 122 h 20 m | Show |
This is an 8* play on the Edmonton Eskimos. The Stamps have won four of their last five games, but they have not looked impressive offensively. Nick Arbuckle has thrown as many picks as he has TDs (2) in his last three starts. He's filling in for starting QB Bo-Levi Mitchell, who is out at least for another week. Trevor Harris comes in leading the CFL in passing, throwing for just shy of 2000 yards on better than 70 percent passing with 10 TDs and 2 picks. The Eskimos are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 versus teams with a winning record. Calgary has failed to cover in five of their last six games overall, and they are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 versus teams from the West. I'll take the Eskies as a dog with a huge advantage at quarterback. Take EDM. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
07-27-19 | Saskatchewan -3.5 v. BC | Top | 45-18 | Win | 100 | 102 h 5 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Saskatchewan. After losing 38-25 at Saskatchewan last week, the sharp money is going to be tempted to take the Lions as a home underdog in a revenge game a week later. The problem with the revenge angle is that unless the Lions can keep their quarterback upright, they won't be able to compete with anybody. They have just one win this season, and it came against the 0-5 Toronto Argos. They actually blew a lead in that game, and missed the potential game winning field goal (a chip shot), only to get lucky and score a single to end the game. Reilly has been absolutely crushed this season, as the Lions undersized line can't hold off opponent's pass rush. Reilly has been sacked more than any other QB in the league, and he's limped off the field in each and every game. It would be a miracle if he manages to stay healthy in this game, let alone the rest of the season. Take SASK. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
06-29-19 | BC v. Calgary -10 | Top | 32-36 | Loss | -109 | 19 h 46 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Calgary. The BC Lions looked like Grey Cup contenders when they signed CFL passing leader Mike Reilly this off-season. They head into Week 3 in serious danger of falling to 0-3 on the season. Reilly has struggled in losses to Edmonton and Winnipeg, throwing for more INTs (3) than TDs (2). The Lions defense has been lit up for a combined 72 points in the first two weeks. Calgary is coming off a bye week, and the Stamps will try to bounce back after losing their season opener to Ottawa. The Stampeders are 17-6-3 ATS in their last 26 games following a bye week. The defending Grey Cup champions should have little trouble here at home against a struggling BC team. Take CAL. GL, Jesse Schule |
|||||||
11-03-18 | Winnipeg v. Edmonton -4.5 | Top | 24-33 | Win | 100 | 68 h 0 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Edmonton Eskimos. Edmonton isn't going to play in this season's playoffs, which is quite a surprise given that Mike Reilly finished first in the CFL in passing once again. Reilly and the Eskimos can avoid finishing with a losing record if they can win at home against Winnipeg today. The Bombers should be resting players having already qualified for the playoffs. Winnipeg will either face Saskatchewan or Calgary, but the result of this game doesn't have any bearing on where they play. The Stampeders can clinch first place with a win at BC, which would have them hosting Winnipeg in the West Semi Final. Otherwise they play at Saskatchewan. The key for the Bombers here should be to escape with a healthy roster. The Eskimos have been solid at home, winning six of eight. They should show up with a spirited performance in their season finale. Take EDM. GL, Jesse Schule |

08-10-18 | Hamilton v. Winnipeg -4 | Top | 23-29 | Win | 100 | 103 h 58 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The Hamilton Tigercats are coming off a 50-11 win over Montreal, ending a three game losing streak. They had previous lost back to back games to Saskatchewan, and lost at home to Ottawa. Now they play on the road against the CFL's top offense, and Winnipeg is coming off a bye week. Andrew Harris has been running over opposing defenses, and Matt Nichols is back at quarterback for the Bombers. This appears to be a let down spot for the Ticats, who really don't match up well against one of the top teams from the superior West Division. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule |

07-27-18 | Toronto v. Winnipeg -10.5 | Top | 14-40 | Win | 100 | 102 h 51 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Argos were crushed in last week's home loss to Winnipeg, and the final score of 38-20 was actually quite flattering. In reality the game was far more one sided than that. Toronto only managed to gain a total of 173 yards in the game. Backup quarterback James Franklin threw for 151 yards and an INT on 21-of-36 passing. The Bombers ran all over Toronto's defense, with Andrew Harris rushing for 161 yards and a TD on 27 carries. Making matters worse for Toronto, their starting running back James Widler Jr. was injured during practice this week. I can't see the Boatmen hanging with the Bombers in Winnipeg. Take WPG. GL,

06-29-18 | Winnipeg +4.5 v. Hamilton | Top | 17-31 | Loss | -109 | 83 h 7 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Bombers come into their Week 3 matchup versus Hamilton with the CFL's leading offense, and a league best seven passing TDs. They are doing it with rookie quarterback Chris Streveler, who threw for 246 yards and three TDs on 22-of-28 passing in just his second career start against Montreal last week. The Bombers were the second best team in the CFL behind Calgary last season, and they look poised to be a contender here this season. They have plenty of playmakers on both sides of the ball, and they look good getting a handful of points on the road at Hamilton. While the Tiger Kittens looked like world beaters last week, I think that says a lot more about a struggling Edmonton defense. I am not a believer in Jeremiah Masoli, who has been a below average quarterback in the league since 2013. He's mostly been a backup to Zach Collaros, who is now with the Roughriders in Saskatchewan. Winnipeg has covered the spread in three of the last four meetings between these two teams, and they have won outright in three of their last four visits to Hamilton. Take WPG. GL,

09-03-17 | Winnipeg +3 v. Saskatchewan | Top | 24-38 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 47 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Bombers lead the CFL in scoring, and they come into this Sunday's game at Saskatchewan riding a five game winning streak. They have won six of their last seven overall, and their only loss during that span came by a score of 45-42 at the B.C. Lions. They won a thriller at Saskatchewan earlier this season, by a score of 43-40. After losing four of their first six games, the Riders have won back to back games in blowout fashion. They might have caught the Lions and the Eskimos at a good time though. Edmonton has been dealing with a staggering amount of injuries, while B.C. couldn't get anything going offensively with Jonathon Jennings at quarterback. Winnipeg has won three of their last four visits to Regina, and I like the visitors getting points here on Sunday. Take WPG. GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on the Ottawa Redblacks. The undefeated Redblacks opened the season with a an upset win on the road in Edmonton in a rematch of last season's Grey Cup. They lost starting quarterback Henry Burris, but backup Trevor Harris has been impressive in his place. Harris leads the CFL in passing yards, TDs and completion percentage. The former Argo has completed 37-of-45 attempts for 687 yards and six majors. His top target Chris Williams leads the CFL in receiving with 383 yards and three TDs. The Redblacks host the 1-1 Calgary Stampeders tonight, and Calgary's offense didn't look good on the road at B.C. in a 20-18 loss in Week 1. I don't think Calgary will be able to match the high octane offense of the Redbacks here in Ottawa's home opener. Take OTT. GL, Jesse Schule |
